I did my first service last Saturday. The bill came to 953 at popular Bajaj bannerghatta road. I don't know why they call it as free service

Some things that I found

Gears are smooth, but the 3rd and 4th gear gets stuck when going down to stop.

Running in the 3rd gear lots of vibrations on the foot rest and brake lever.

Today the exhaust got hit on the bumper with a big thud. Pretty worried if something happened. I couldn't find anything wrong though but that's just me.

Guys do you have any solutions. Of course I have read through the previous threads about vibrations, but what about the exhaust hitting bumpers. Any one faced this?

Exhaust hitting bumper... Had faced it once in mumbai.. While driving I failed to notice the bump and went over with speed n plus was having a bag on pillon as I was touring the rear was quite heavy.. So it hit the exhaust hard. Since then I drive slow over large pothole and bumps no issue yet..
And upon inspection there was no problem.. had inspected at svc..

if you feel that the bumper/speed breaker you are approaching is too big and may hit your bike's underbelly, then do this --

while approaching the speed breaker, if you are braking, release the brake 1-2 secs before hitting the speed breaker, if you do this you will take on speed breaker on the rebound of suspension and will get a few extra centimeters of ground clearance.

You were robbed.
First service bill should be
440(oil)+74(oil filter) only.
Guys is there a shortage of oil filter going on. .? In Delhi. .?
As it seems I've called about 13 dealers and svc and neither of them are giving oil filter, from past 13 days, I know if I go and ask them to change oil, give them 600₹, they will have oil filter for sure but they aren't giving it in personal usage. Any comments. .? Typically east Delhi side.

That's just the sign of a healthy engine setting in. Joel told me long time ago.
I'd say, check the head first, if it is in good condition then you're screwed. Anyway, these are the result of getting your bike "tooned".

Guys, had my second accident today
There was an loading auto going and it was having a chain suspending from its back door, my left hand handle bar weight got stuck in it and the auto accelerated, so bike handleover to right and I went down, with left hand side going down.
Small Briuses on left ankle, nothing major.
Thankfully, no cosmetic damage to bike none, again those tiny leg guards proved themself,
Damage is only the supporting nut of left leg guard Broke
MAJOR CONCERN .
front wheel is getting stuck lightly at some point of rotation ,isn't moving freely, so what could be the problem. .? Disc or wheel. .? I cannot afford major! Expenses, any suggestions guys upon this front wheel not rotating freely and making a sound when rotated. .? Divyasharan Bhai,

Hi Vinod,
I have been going to Amba bajaj, Hosur Road service station for almost an year now. have regularly taken my ns and a friends avenger there.
The bill ranges between 1100-1200 and I never had any complaint till now.
The only time i gave up on them was the last time when I went to Auto Service.
Otherwise, their Hosur road service center is, in my humble opinion the best in areas nearing BTM.

They are lying, labor charge should be free in the free services, that's why it's called free service.
So the labor charge for chain cleaning/lubing should be free
Ask them why they are topping up a Maintenance Free battery so early? This too should be free.

The distilled water, coolant, lube etc. should be billed as consumables and should not cost over 100 rupees for all. (You can get a liter of distilled water for 10 rupees here and a bottle of coolant should not cost over 300 for a liter).

Ask them to provide a detailed bill with labor costs and material cost displayed separately. I don't know the exact price of DTSI 20W50 oil but the oil filter costs 74 rupees inclusive of all taxes.

AFAIK VAT does not apply to labor charges, only service tax applies there.
I am back!

Which oil did they use..?? Bajaj dtsi oil should be between 200 - 300 rupees i guess.

Filter is 74 rupees.

Chain cleaning and lubrication ....if they used chain cleaner or wd 40 spray + lubrication spray...then its ok..otherwise not ok

I dont think there is need to top up coolant in first service..i have not topped up coolant in my 27,000 kms till date. See coolant is not consumed by bike...so its level does not go down unless and untill there is some problem with the bike.

And battery distilled water...i mean WTF... A maintenance free battery is called a maintenance free battery because it does not need water top up in its entire life man. That is a maintenance free battery. Infact there is no opening provided in the battery to top-up water...its a sealed battery....for gods sake...

Ask them to show how they topped up water by topping up again. If they are not able to do so...tell them that they are fraud ppl and you will not only complain with bajaj but also consumer forum and also claim warraty on battery that service center ruined the battery by putting 100 ml water in a sealed battery.

I have never checked battery in last 11 months of ownership.

I am still ROFL...
