the stock tyres are not bad mate..I've done 17k kms on odo with the stock tyres..still now its not bad, but i'm closing in on my time to change the stock tyres..I think it will hold up for another 3k kms (hopefully)...but all said, haven't ridden it recently on wet roads..it won't be that good in wet conditions, considering I've done 17k now..but u don't need to worry, since ur's is a new bike..no need to change tyres now...

Cud make out the rear tire but cudnt know which tire you were using in the front.....

Also are there any good dual purpose tires for ns....what are the options..??

My initial experience so far has been positive. They have been sticking to the road surface so far like leeches on an elephant's back on the medium speed corners. I don't know about the high speed ones since I can't open up the throttle yet, still running in.

I know it's not apples to apples, since the Pirellis were mounted on a P220, but the Michelin do seem to have a bit more bite on the road than the Sport Demons. And the tyres are not even scrubbed yet. So they should be even better one they are.

Of road and wet conditions are still an unknown for me. The Pirellis do perform brilliantly in all conditions though.

For those in doubt regarding tyre SIZES, here's a detailed review of the pros and cons of using each size on 200NS:

            130/70-17 rear:
            Pros:
It's the best size when it comes to getting the perfect balance between acceleration and top speed. It's also the best size considering cornering: its easier to get the bike into a corner, easier to stay that way and it's the size on which you get your fastest corner speed. Clearly Bajaj have done a lot of homework on the perfect tyre size and they got it right.
Cons: The one and only con in my opinion: it looks puny compared to the rest of the bike.

140/70-17 rear: All tyres with this size have greater height than all 130/70-17s. And this tyre on our rims meant for a 130 section make it more rounded at the center, thus increasing height even more.
            Pros:
This makes the engine run at lower rpms per speed in each gear and as a result highway cruising feels amazingly relaxed. For example 7k rpm 6th gear comes upto 110 km/h instead of 103. This also means better fuel efficiency, again on the highway. Looks amazing. Lots of options in this size thanks to the japs, the Fz, the CBR250R and the Ninja 300. Lastly ground clearance is better.
Cons: The immediate realisation would be lower acceleration. Followed by decreased top speed, since the new height overgears the final drive and makes it harder for the engine to quickly touch 150+. Also, 140/70-17 tyres are heavier than 130-70-17 so city FE might remain the same or reduce by 2-3 km/l. Next up, cornering speeds will be lower, followed by slight change in chassis dynamics, i.e it would require a bit more effort to plant the bike into the corner. This comes from personal experience on using the Dunlop Tuff grip. Lastly, this tyre gives a taller seat height which may make it even more difficult for guys who are around 5'7" tall.

150/60-17 rear: Height comes to be nearly equal to that of a 130/70-17.
            Pros:
            Looks.
Cons: Everything changes, from cornering stability to engine stress at any given scenario. In my opinion, this tyre is a strict no-no for our rim. It can be used by installing a bigger rim and making a few changes to the swingarm, which again is not practical or economical given the plethora of other options.

            100/80-17 front:
            Pros:
            Perfect again for practically everything.
Cons: Very few options in this department.

110/80-17 front: Theory of the 140/70-17 rear applies here.
            Pros:
            Looks, ground clearance.
Cons: The first major hit would be to cornering stability. Secondly, the larger height means that the front wheel spins a bit slower than stock at a given real speed. And as a result the indicated speed will reduce by around 2-5 km/h so distance and mileage calculations using trip meter readings will become unreliable (speedo error notwithstanding).

If anyone has tried out any other tyre size, front or rear, do post a query.

Wat abt 140/60 R17 tyres?...I've read in a magazine that it's the best option to the stock 130/70 R17 considering it's low profile...they said it won't affect the performance much when upgraded...Is this true ???

Since the maximum wear happens during the initial first few hundred kilometers and your bike has already covered 1200 kilometres, you can change it now. But only if you are not satisfied with the oil, otherwise you can wait till your next service to change it.

Or if that seems to far away, maybe run for around 1,000-1,500 kms on your current oil and bchange it.

Beat in mind that this is all personal opinion and I don't have a high opinion of the Bajaj oil. Others may have more positive opinions of it.

Personally, I plan to change to Motul 3000 at my first service, and then to 5100 after another 1,000-1,500 kms.

Couldn't find the stock sizes for the Michelin Pilot Streets , so put in a 110/70 front and a 140/70 rear. A slight height difference of only 10% front and 7.7% rear, but very noticeable from the seat at standstill.

The steering has sharpened slightly too. But not so the grip. At a mind-boggling speed of 60kmph that I took one corner in, due to the bike still being run-in, the difference was immediately apparent even with the limited time I spent on the old tyres. I an't wait for the engine to be run-in so that I can unleash it.

Overall, pricey but well worth it.
