  • my bike's front disc making too much noise, went to the svc and reported the problem, he said it's because of the dirt and he has cleaned it..but still the noise has not gone.
my question is can I ask for replacement of the disc plate under warranty ?

    • Anyone changed the NS tyres to MRF?? i got an offer of 2400 for the TVs tyres from reseller, should i sell them? ?? and the quoted price for the new MRF tyres is 4500...is this reasonable??

REVZ 140/100 for the rear and Zapper FX for the front...i am still confused with the front tyre dimensions.....cos MRF dealer told that there is no 100/80 in MRF....pls tell me the exact dimensions for both the tyres ASAP....i am planning to change them tom....

This seems to be the problem in most of the NS....i am getting a cuk cuk sound from the rear side...i predict its the rear disc...my first service completed 5 days back and now i am again facing this problem....and also vibrations near the console at the range 3k to 4k, is there no solution for it...the SVC guy says they have already reported Bajaj for the same, says its the rubber thing near the handle thats causing it...

They are simply unaware of whats going on... So if your warranty is gone in one svc, visit another @pinaki da: well i heard it from satyajit da that once your warranty is void in one svc of hero, you wont get it anywhere in india... And they wont even let you pour even the hero branded if you buy it from outside...you have to buy from them only....this is really bad.... and sorry for that...got a bit too excited dada...(boyosher dosh)...
Bajaj ASC here in my city does keep online records of the service done. I went for chain tightening today, got it noted in the job card, when I went to pay the bill, the guy asked me if my chain was ok, since it was my third time this month for chain tightening and lubrication. They said they keep track of the jobs and repeat complaints, which I think is good.

        • There is a solution if its the pads have not set in properly, remove the pads and rub them against each other or with emery paper, brake pads too have to go through some run-in distance before they set in properly and give proper bite.
This can be done either by rubbing the pads together or by rubbing using sand paper/emery paper.
Do not apply any fluids other than brake ckleaner on the pads or disk, you are running the risk of reducing the braking efficiency to a near zero level by doing so. Many svc mech's tend to use this method which is outright dangerous.

          Cheers mate

Please read it for doubts regarding run-in this high reving monster, switching to synthetic etc.
Here also someone suggests waiting upto 8k while other suggests 16k.Not sure,I guess waiting won't hurt.Or can try semi-synthetic in between!
Thanks for the link! Helpful for guys like me who have little or no knowledge of the internals. One more helpful link for overall working of a bike: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/motorcycle1.htm

MRF Zapper FX is 100/80 R17 and great for the front, for the rear go with Revz S instead of Revz as its 130/70, the stock size, and offers great grip anything fatter on the rear with soft compound will definitely take some toll on the performance, though very minimal. I am running Pirellis ,both front and rear, and there is a slight decrease in the acceleration due to more traction. Revz at 140/60 would be an overkill IMHO.... Revz S it should be at the rear....

Hope it helps...... cheers and ride safe....

Thanks to all the people who have contributed to this post and the senior members on this forum for their inputs, I have booked a Mustard Yellow 200NS yesterday. It was a hard choice between the Duke200 and NS but finally I opted for the 200NS. What helped and saved additional 50k (to buy the Duke) was the fact that the Sai Service guys dont have any KTM on offer for a Test ride. ORP 98.32K. Also negotiated for a free helmet, helmet lock and teflon coating. Tuesday evening hopefully should get the allotted bike for preliminary checks before it goes for RTO registration.

                  • The gear shifts are smooth and good only when the clutch is properly adjusted. Mine is adjusted for about 3mm play only, but it hurts like hell at the end of the day.

                    • Hey fellow xbhpians,
I'm most certainly going to be buying the 200ns by this week, One good thing about it here in mumbai is that the bike is readily available without any waiting period and stuff like that.
I've gone through almost the entire thread, but have not been able to find a satisfactory answer to the following:

                      1) how is the engine in terms of refinement..?? is the engine as smooth as the ones in the honda: unicorn, cbr250. Suzuki: gs150r.
                      2) does the bike have any issues in terms of vibrations and rattling.?
                      3) how good/bad is the ride quality of the bike in city traffic.?
P.S i do have a test ride lined up for this week.!!

NO...if u want a refined silent smooth engine then dont go for a pulsar..the engine is smooth but not honda smooth...personally i dont like a super silent smooth engine when u have a 200cc machine right under you...i like the grunty noise
                        2) does the bike have any issues in terms of vibrations and rattling.?
quite a few owners have reported vibration but most of them can be rectified by tightening screws here and there...other memebrs who have owned the bike for a longer time will be able to help

                        3) how good/bad is the ride quality of the bike in city traffic.?
it is a street naked bike....it performs well...i havent ridden many bikes an graduated from a scooter but i can handle it very well..thoguh being a bit heavy than other bikes but when its on the roll u dont feel any weight
P.S i do have a test ride lined up for this week.!!
                        replies in bold...

enjoy the ride..mostly if u are offered a small test ride you wont find any difference between other 150 cc bikes but the power lies in higher revs...and its a completely differnt bike after 6k rpm engine speed

                            • hi guys, last night my friend took my 200NS for a vigorous ride. after the ride he said " what i found was the triple spark plug technology hasn't done a single thing to the engine response and throttle response...maybe the fuel efficiency...didn't test it....but..the bike seems to be missing out on the outright power pulse...the faster you twist the throttle the more time it takes for it to respond to it..I think it must be a 1 sec gap...but that's a huge gap!!!! "
since am new too biking and this is my first bike i dont know if what he told was true.what do you think guys?is there any lag in throttle response??

                              • the 200ns is having a linear power gain , its not an abrupt gain or response like the one you get from the other pulsar siblings or apache and like wise, its more like the r15 also, very linear supply.

                                Cheers
