Yes, it was the 1st time I took my bike to those Engine Speeds.. But upto 7-7.5 k there is no vibrations on the handle. the Vibration suddenly comes when i take the Bike beyond 8K.!!!!.. and the vibrations were huge (or as u said, it was SCARY). I had to quickly release the throttle or shift to higher gear because of that.
Please tell how were the vibrations on ur bike is gone now..

I just somehow feel (I might be wrong, or Delusional)that the engine oil which came with the Bike as factory stock, was better than what has been running after the oil change during the 1st service. [No valid reasons, but just a feeling].... Anyways, i will be changing that oil while at 2K kms on the ODO.
As far as the vibes are concerned, tightening the bolts is a temporary solution. I had to keep doing it every 100 kms. I think the engine oil is also a culprit. Since it's implied from what you have said that you have used bajaj dtsi oil at 1st service, it could be the reason behind what you're experiencing. I for one, am disappointed at that crappy engine oil. Changed to shell ax7 semi synthetic at 1300 kms on the odo (the time when I felt the run in was completed). At that point, to my utter astonishment the bajaj oil, which was just 800 kms old came out of the drain hole like sewage water...I mean it was completely thin, jet black and was foaming. Check the pic I've attached (by the time I clicked the pic, most of the bubbles were gone).

After changing to shell, the frequency of these 'tightening sessions' reduced as the engine now ran WAAAY smoother. I think I'll take this opportunity to post some more pics of my beauty.

      • i have ridden only 4 two wheeled vehicles in my life(p200ns, discover 150 ,activa and test rode a d125st) and frankly speaking i ddint find any difference in power and pick up between the two discovers and the NS....all of them seem the same while riding...not that its a bad thing but i expected something on a different level when i spent an extra 30 grands on the NS..may be this is becuase i restricted my right wrist on twisting the throttle as i believe the bike has a lot of potential...U won't feel the difference at lower speeds. In fact you will find that most of the Lower CC bikes have better pull than NS. but the difference can be really felt at higher speeds. The power band of NS likes beyond 5-6K.for running in i am not sticking to manual recommended speed limits...sticking to not revving above 3.5-4K rpm you are doing it Correctly
      • i saw the duke and the coolant refilling cap is accessible just near the head light while i cant see any such cap in the NS...i hope i dont have to unscrew and open up a lot of stuff if i plan to become a DIY type No, you have to open up the tank cover to get access to coolant refill cap.

i am very bad at writing triplogs bro... And didn't even clicked much pictures coz i started the trip in dark and was carrying only my cell...clicked only a few, in pitch dark condition...thank god atleast i have a xenon flash... when are you going for 1st service? I have been getting calls from osl bl saha to know if my bike is running fine...they called me tomorrow to get some stuffs adjusted... Now they are treating me like a vip after that complain to bajaj... @shibadip: how much vibrations post 7k? And what about the rest of the time? What about tappet and timing chain noise when the engine is quite heated up...? Btw i didnt find any difference in engine oil quality....infact mine is getting smoother and smoother day by day.... I hardly get vibrations... I cant even hear the engine while cruising... Its not because of loose nuts i am sure coz i am running on a lot of loose panels with panel noise from everywhere...so if mine is running so smooth with all these and so much of torture, especially after yesterday's insane redlining and banging on the limiter for around 20kms while led to burning clutch smell and burning smell from the engine and then another 50 kms of maintaining 100-110kmph, there was no fatigue or powerloss...it was as smooth... Run your bike more frequently boss else the engine wont open up and after that when you try to open i up then it will give trouble.., even if u dont rip ur ride, ride it everyday for 30kms till 2000kms while the engine is new.....free it up now...its now or never... Btw i'll be changing my engine oil maybe at 1.5k kms. Now i am on 1200kms....no issues with dtsi till now though...will change to motul 7100 directly... Lets meet up someday... Btw to all kolkata guys, there is a ride which is being planned to digha..will be a one day return trip... Contact @sayank10 or me at [email protected] in fb or PM any of us... @myth and @shibadip: you guys have exams so i dont think you can join

        • @Shibadip- Yep hopefully before exams (thats what is on my mind till now )
@Rahulbarik- Honestly speaking, Im actually confused where to go for the 1st service. i want to go to Thakurpukur because its near the showroom (stupid point I know).
And I want to go to BL saha because its nearer to my house. Will decide.
Btw, how much time should it take for the whole process.
And Im planning to change to Motul mineral oil. So hope the service manager won't create a problem if I tell him that I don't want to change the oil (and later will change it on my own at home). What say?

@shibadip: how much vibrations post 7k? Insane and SCARY. and it's beyond 8K.
And what about the rest of the time? No vibrations as Such. just the normal; fairing noise. the vibration comes all of a sudden, when the RPM crosses 8K.
What about tappet and timing chain noise when the engine is quite heated up...?Nothing of that sort. Ride is quite smooth(apart from that Fairing noise), no chain noise as well.

I took the delivery of my new 200NS yesrday(after waiting foe exactly one month).

Now the problem is due to dashera the RTO is closed due to overload of registration(As my dealer told me) till 29th.

              • A few queries to owners of this machine

                Hello all,

I am planning to buy this machine by exchanging my 2006 pulsar 150 DTSi UG2( getting a sweet deal off it). Now I have a few questions regarding this bike.

                1) I need to commute nearly 100 kms at a stretch every other day. Is the riding position and seat comfortable for this.

                2) I am a bit "vertically challenged" (5'5") so will this be a problem?

                3) Will the radiator get clogged up in extremely dusty conditions? If so, what do i do to get over it?

                4) What kind of highway mileage can be expected at leisurely riding speed?

                5) How is the suspension over village roads?

                Thanks in advance.

                • 1300 kms done on my NS.. I dont know if I am still in run in as I have ripped it to 120+ 5-6 times but generally the speed fluctuates around 60.
I had pulsar 180 2007 model previously and this NS for first 1000 kms sounded entirely different but to my surprise from past 3-4 days the engine is roaring like my old 180 specially when the engine gets hot. During cold morning rides the engine is silent but the engine starts roaring like a bass tube after sometime with vibration and noise from fairing. I am little concerned about the sound and engine is running with bajaj oil from past 800 kms. The fairing noise irritates me like hell.
Any suggestions to lower the noise????
Should I change the enigine oil to motul or any other. If yes then please specify the full name of the oil. As mentioned I am at 1300 kms so specify accordingly.

1- The riding position is nice in its class. I have done like 1300 kms in a month and have done a ride of 120 km without getting tired.
2- Yes it will be a problem. I am 5'9 but I still feel that the bike is way to tall compared to my previous 180.
3- Just get it cleaned whenever you feel like there is a need. Local SVC can also do that if bajaj one is far off.
4- At 60kmph I get 45-50 kmpl and with combined city and highway I get 38-40 kmpl
5- It can be a little rough. I am suffering from lower back problem and I think that this is the only reason.

It is possible to disconnect speedo cable. When I went to take a testdrive of pulsar 150,the speedo was disconnected, when asked why,he replied that the bike is to be delivered that afternoon!

                              • Guys, i have one query, when you guys are saying fairing noise. Which part is it that you guys are exactly refering to ? Im not aware of this bike having a fairing, it doesnt even have a bikini fairing like the older pulsars had. Thats the reason im asking.

                                Cheers
