If you are nervous, do not straight away go in to traffic. Practice for a couple of days on empty parking lots or some place, practice slow riding and maneuvering like circle and figure of eight in a limited space, then practice braking, countersteering. when you do get used to the power, practice cornering the right way. and when you are confident enough go on the roads ride safe and dont be an idiot.
that is all there is to it.
i have quite a good compound...used to cycle race with other frnds when i was a kid..so its like a mini track with turns, speed brakers, slopes everything learnt riding the activa here too ..so should give me good practice......and yes early morning rides was the first thing in my mind

            • I want to change the stock 55/60W headlight bulb to something more bright, say 100/90W bulbs..
I do not want to install HIDs or projectors as they would require electrical modifications. All i want to do is to change the stock halogen bulb to a brighter halogen bulb.
Will it be possible without any electrical modifications??
              Please advice!!

              • Back I am from yet another exciting and chilling ride.. Yes Chilling because its damn cold out on the highways. Experienced sleeping on a mango tree with the bike parked below. Got nearly frozen at early morning. The power of the bike is kinda getting wilder and wilder (I solemnly swear I did not modify anything this time). On gravel, I foolishly cracked open the accelerator and lo, I got freaked out for a sometime. The tyres really suck big time on gravel. Lost confidence in cornering! Mileage got lowered to 38kmpl on highways + off-road.

                • Can someone link me a video of the pickup (drag race ) between 200NS and R15v2.0? or if someone is keen on making one, then toh better!!! Plz do it on an empty stretch of road for safety.I know that the torque and power-to-weight ratio is different, still I want a TopGear'ish video depicting the same.

                  • Few Imp things we need to know about the Bajaj Pulsar 200NS :

                    1. Pulsar 200NS has been designed by Edgar Heinrich, the person who was previously designing BMW motorcycles. Apart from Pulsar 200NS, he has been credited with the design of the legendary R 1100 RS, RT, K1200R and also the R 1150GS and R1200G. He also has won a lot of praise for designing the all new Pulsar 200NS. Now, the news is that the man recently resigned from his position at Bajaj and is now headed to BMW Motorrad to become the head of BMW group motorcycle design studio.

                    2. NS? The letters mean Naked Sport. What does it mean? The Pulsar 200NS is a sport bik
e that is customized by removing the fairing, and making other changes that result in an overall more aggressive look.

                    3. It’s built on the Bajaj’s Austrian partner’s KTM Duke 200 engine platform. The lower cylinder head and underbelly exhaust are the same which is seen on the KTM Duke. Both motorcycles have the same bore x stroke of 72 x 49.

                    4. It comes with liquid-cooled engine and triple spark technology. There are only few motorcycles in the country which comes with liquid cooling system and Pulsar 200NS will be the basic model to feature liquid-cooled engine in the country. Coming to the triple spark technology, it provides even better combustion compared to twin spark which results in higher fuel efficiency and better power output

                    5. It features all-new digital-analogue instrument cluster with digital speedometer, digital fuel gauge, digital trip meter and analogue tachometer. The huge round tachometer dominates the instrument cluster, is placed in centre and is flanked by a digital screen on right side and other tell-tales LEDs on the left side. The tachometer also incorporates a small vertical screen which displays the fuel gauge.

                    6. It drops the traditional down tube steel frames for a pressed steel perimeter beam section frame with rectangular tube section swing arm that lead to a lateral stiffness that is three times more rigid than the previous gen Pulsar 220.

                    7. Fuel-economy? Nothing official from the ARAI yet but Bajaj itself is targeting a fuel-economy of 35/58 kmpl (city/highway) and combined (expected) – 45 kmpl. Pretty impressive.

                    8. Prices start at Rs. 85,000 (Ex-showroom, Delhi) for the Pulsar 200NS. Looking at the levels of equipment, design sophistication and sheer performance of the new Pulsar 200NS, is the best value-for-money (VFM) package available in the country as of date.

                    9. It is the latest addition to the brand and will compete with the likes of the Yamaha R15 Version 2.0, Hero Honda Karizma ZMR and Honda CBR 150R/250R.

                    • Hello to all Xbhp members and all 200NS owners,

I see people from all over india posting their views and expertise to (help out/some time to confuse) each other, thank you Xbhp team to activating my profile(after a week) you guys are doing really a great job in educating Indian youth about biking and safety.

I am waiting for delivery of my new 200NS on 24th this month and i am really excited as this is my second pulsar which is i am going to own now after exactly 10 years.
I read nearly all the posts from the start, seen pictures uploaded by the owners and their experience with the bike. Some are even crossed 7k marks on ODO and some doing long drives on their rides.
Being a pulsar fan i have a lot of expectation from this bike and i am sure it wont disappoint me and of course thanks to BAL for creating such a bike in India.

I came to know that the bike has run in period of 2000 km and i have seen some of the members giving advise that one should ride the bike below 60 km/hr to follow that,
hear i don't want to disrespect any one but they should also say not to rev it above 5 RPM and that should be your main focus to maintain a proper run in time.(what is the
point when some one goes to 8-9 RPM and still below the 60 limit???)
Please correct me if i am wrong.

                      Ride safely with responsibility

Ok lemme try to explain. In a new engine, since the piston and bore are unused, there is a place for them to wear off. Resulting in tiny metal particles float around in the oil. If u take the bike to higher rpms, you are stressing the engine which in reality is only starting to open up. In the long run this can result in decreased engine reliability and performance. So it is advised to keep ur engine in lower rpms during the run in period.
Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

                              • hi guys,

i am from hyderabad and i am planning to buy p200ns this dussera or diwali. i recently had a testdrive at varun motors hyderabad. the bike felt nice the engine was too responsive, the gears were butter smooth(i had a false neutral once though). The horn is on the lower side but decent. i heard from lot of people in the internet that the tyres are not good so i enquired about the same with the dealer. i spoke the showroom manager regarding the same and he enquired with some one and said that if i am interested they can change the back tyre to mrf zapper free of cost.

i am a novice when it comes to biking knowledge. i need some help from the experts here

                                1) is the mrf zapper/ brand tyre a good replacement?
                                2) i was told that the bike is 98800 on road , is it reasonable in hyderabad? (any hyderabadi ..)
                                3) what are the present major issues experienced by current the p200ns users? are they rectified in the new lots or should i wait for the 2-3 more months ?
                                4) please throw some light regarding the checks to be made by the user before taking the delivery of the bike.

please help me out. waiting for yours answers.
