I just wanted to know ki should I take my bike on TC no. and ride on the TC no. till I get my Permnent No. or should I just wait a week more and take the bike with Permanent No. only? :/
Till 570 Kms, I rode my NS with a TC number here in Mumbai and was not bothered even once by traffic cops. Having said that, I am not advocating you to ride it with a TC number as I am not aware of the official fine for doing that!

    Upgrades:-

Anyone who has performed any kind of cosmetic/performance upgrades, please share your experiences. With a budget of 15,000 what would be a complete package of upgrades primarily aimed at making the exhaust sound more manly, increasing initial pickup without negatively affecting the engine and making a red NS look sexier?

Thanks for the advice. I am somehow starting to trust the cops now. :P

"A/F" stands for "Applied for". It means that the bike isn't registered in whatsoever manner and the regn no has been applied (there is a fine of Rs.4500 if caught). In case of a mishap you won't be covered by the insurance company and if caught, then even the dealer won't be liable for anything related to the bike.

Air fuel Ratio's abbreviation is "AFR"

        • Buddy as i mentioned, i'm not talking about the TC, i got a temporary registration number right from the RTO website, they do register vehicles temporarily and then allot the permanent number, it does reduced the logging of large number of vehicles coming for registration, as for permanent number the RTO officials must inspect the bike. While for the temporary number they don't need to.
And this temporary number from the RTO is valid for 1 month, i have got such a number and rode around for nearly 2 weeks, by then had covered 1k kms and then handed over for first service + registration, got it done that day itself with full inspection and got the permanent number that day itself.

But as you mentioned , you cannot ride on with the TC number , as thats not for road use, and merely for the dealers.

I hope this post helps many people.

          Cheers

          Section 43 of the MVA:

So don't worry if you get a temp no. because you will surely get a permanent no. within 1 month. But don't forget to keep all the documents with whenever you ride with a temp no.

Vehicle users in a fix as RTO delays registration nos - Times Of India

Temporary no. and TC no. are two different things

TC is for the manufacturer and showroom guys to transport from godown to showroom or to rto for registration

please correct me if i am wrong

with temporary u can ride ur bike but not with a TC no.

the rto doesn't temporarily register your bike till it allots you a permanent no.

why would the RTO do double work of allotting and keeping records of 2 numbers for a single bike

there is a separate procedure involved in getting a temporary number

PS. this is what i have read from the internet and some knowledge from friends..please correct me if i am wrong since i too want to take my bike asap and i don't think i'll be getting the permanent no. soon
And i do remember someone saying keep all documents with you while riding with temporary number, a small addition to it, keep all documents ith you while riding AT ALL TIMES.

well i'd rather play safe and wait for a day or 2 more as promised by the dealer and get the permanent no.

you can do cosmetic mods like Carbon fibre sticker treatment and some decals here and there
dont do performance mod just yet...the bike is new
if you want a better pick up tune your bike a little richer

dont play with air filters and jets to increase exhaust sound and pik up

haha..lucky you....once while going to college i saw a biker trying to flee from the cop catching and the cop running behind him struck him with his baton to make him halt the bike

well i always thought u can use AFR and A/F for air fuel ratio....did a quick google search and A/F gave me air to fuel ratio only...and no applied for registration

but is that acronym is used here in xbhp i'll keep that in mind...

well with all the hassles of fleeing and watching out for cops to temp no. and problem in insurance if u rideon tc no. i guess i'll just wait for a few more days to take the delivery with the permanent no.

              • Hey Chintan, I am looking forward for my 200ns which will be delivered to me in 5 days time. What should i look for while taking delivery of my ns and also what should i look for during the first service of the bike. Any more comments are welcomed on this issue.

                • now i have 2 more problems with my ns, first paint peeling from the area near ignition key and another paint feeling off from the guards of rear foodpegs. Next problem is today my front mudguard sticker just opened after bike washing. By great difficulty i got it pasted, but it looks awful...

But i want to know what all can i claim under warranty..

                    • Yeah, I too feel it is too early for performance modifications. However, I would like my exhaust to roar a bit more. I guess I will have to wait till 10k mark or something.Click image for larger version

For now, got some sticker job done!

                      1. White rim tape and '200 NS' written in red

                      2. xBhp sticker with colours 'as is' on this website (I am not entirely sure if it is ok to get this sticker done at third party vendors instead of buying it from here. Since I was at the shop to get rim tape job done, asked him to prepare a logo of 'xBhp'. If it is against rules, let me know and I will get it removed.)

                      3. Bridgestone sticker on front shock absorbers.

I am attaching a couple of images. Kindly provide your honest feedback.

                      Cheers!

                      • AFAIK you do not get xbhp stickers here on the website....you have to get one made for yourself

i have seen many NS with rim tapes and pulsar 200ns written in it...are those custom made or do we get such rim tapes in the market itself?

if custom made where can we get them made?

do the stickers come of easily when the bike is washed? if so then theres no point in putting stickers...

btw what was the cost for making the xbhp stickers and the rim tapes...

i havent got my NS but planning to do such cosmetic mods

You do get xBhp stickers on this website. Had come across a thread regarding the same and that is why I was apprehensive regarding getting it made in the market.

Regarding stickers - I believe these stickers do not come off that easily, surely not by a wash and stuff. You can get those rim tape, '200 NS' thing made at any decent number plate/radium sticker shop.

I got xbhp, Rim tape, shock absorber sticker for Rs. 380.

                              • Mate, like i said, i dont remember the cost involved (if any), the dealers took care of it, got the rto registered temp number within one day of purchase of the bike. In kerala rto website, we can view the numbers online registered on that particular date.
I hope this clears it out.
