Drag race with the 220F in a quater mile length with the NS and you would know who reaches dead at the end of quater mile. I myself own a NS but at the same time I never under estimate the prowess of the 220FOriginally posted by sands794 View Postbro 220f is dead :P 200NS is king in everything except wind resistance above 120kmph, we dont see those speeds all the time do we? it would be foolish of you to take a 220 now, my friend regrets his decision because he was the more cc = better type :P , in every ride i leave him for dead now

i did bro!! 6 - 7 times, he was hell bent on beating me but couldnt, i agree that the 220 is better in high speed wind resistance, low end torque and headlights but its like getting second best now that NS is out, thats why, i hate the chassis of the 220, no offence to any 220 owners, but after riding the NS, 220 feels commuter.Originally posted by csajal View PostDrag race with the 220F in a quater mile length with the NS and you would know who reaches dead at the end of quater mile. Well friend, the rear wheel spin happens in Neutral in some bikes..But if you notice all those bike will be having drum brakes!!Originally posted by pgaucha View PostWhether it is same with all the bikes?? Before NS,i used access 125 and the rear wheel used to rotate so i thought it is same for the geared motorcycle also. And just a thought from my side, please buy a extra rear brake pedal while touring as it is the part tend to get easily damaged when fallen towards the right hand side where the crash guard provides zero protection for it.
Any bike with a rear disc brake will not behave like that, because with every disc brake, there is Some amount of friction between the disc, and the brake pads(you can feel it by hearing the sound while moving the bike with phusical force, keeping the engine shut)
So, since NS has a rear Disc, the rear wheel won't have the free movement , which is there in the lower CC bikes.
IF you can move the bike in neutral, by applying normal amount of force, then everything s OK!! Don't worry!!
All NSians who tell that there is no rear tyre skidding, post break-in - How much hard is your rear brakes?? My rear brake is very hard, and the tyre skids whenever the read brake is pressed a bit more while at speeds over 40kmph approx (irrespective of the road condition).
I ahve run close to 500kms, and the rear one has skidded almost 10 times!!!
POst Service - Well, after some good tuning by the SVC (no flat spot anywhere), and with the oil change.. Destiny's engine note has changed and HOW!!!!!
there is a huge Bass kinnda sound post 4K RPM, and man isn't that addictive??? @rahuldevnath, now i understand, what you meant by the Bassy sound!!!!

agreed...220f and 200ns both have a character of their own...
the fairing helps a lot and 220f has raw power...
200ns is like a skilled assasin....but the 220f is more of a hooligan(not duke hooligan)Pulsar 200NS parts list

No...Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Postisnt a pulled in clutch and neutral almost the same thing?
While in Neutral, there are no gear teeth which are engaged to the crank shaft. But while the Clutch is pulled in, the gear teeth are disengaged via the Clutch.
So it depends on how well the Clutch is working in disengaging the gear teethssigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

In layman's terms, yes. but technically not.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Postisnt a pulled in clutch and neutral almost the same thing?
Neutral is not a gear. In neutral the gearbox and engine are disconnected.
But being in a gear and pulling the clutch will temporarily disconnect the two parts with the bike still being in gear.
When a tyre spins in neutral -in case of NS- its because of the wet type clutch plates (but even in this position the spin isn't strong enough to mobilize the bike).
When a tyre spins in a gear with pulled clutch (and is strong enough to mobilize the bike) then there is a problem with the clutch wire setting.

Well, also, this morning, I was in a bit of a hurry to college and wasn't paying attention to the gears. I shifted from 5th to 6th at about 7k rpm and I heard some kind of khat-khat sound from the gearbox. Is the clutch wire responsible?Originally posted by myth2104 View PostNope this ain't normal. Get it checked.
1. Tyre spinning when in neutral; and
2. Tyre spinning in gear with a dis-engaged clutch; are two different things.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Thanks man.... Regarding rear wheel skid.. try to use front and rear brake in the ratio of 70:30 or 80:20 and try to slow down the vehicle by slowing pressing front brake.
Anyways comparing 220F to 200NS is not justifiable as it is launched around 3 or 4 years back.Today while i was waiting in the showroom i just went around 150,180,220 bikes where i can feel that the quality of materials used in those bikes to ours is very good.So i guess Balaji are very much eager to compete really with the japanese counterparts.Regar

Those servicemen at Popular are dumba**es. The only thing they managed so far was the 1st service. I had to go there thrice to get my oil filter changed. Last time, I had to rectify a cold-start issue and that dumb guy didn't even know the NS has a choke! I don't wanna make them mess up the clutch settings so I'm planning to get my bike checked at the svc near vijaya bank circle. Are they good?Originally posted by surajr.88 View Post
I got it fitted at Popular Bajaj (Next to KTM Showroom) but i heard that the stock is very limited. Try your luck there mate.

Honestly, I am not able to make out from the "khat-khat" sound what exactly the problem was.Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostWell, also, this morning, I was in a bit of a hurry to college and wasn't paying attention to the gears. But if it was something like the sound when changing gears without pressing the clutch, then this is normal in a new bike. Whats your odo reading?
But contrary to above, changing from 5th to 6th gear at 7k rpm even without depressing clutch you should get a smooth shift.
And I don't think its because of the clutch wire in any way.
Next time notice the sound and try to let us know the from where the sound was coming from...engine, sprockets?
