LOL. Even I had researched like hell before I finalized my decision & bought 200NS. But believe me P200NS is a terrific bike & has no major issues .. if any. What pgaucha is talking about is simply about a bike running on fumes as the fuel runs out.. thus the engine struggles. It's rider's duty to feel it when the throttle response becomes uneven as fuel runs out. then turn the knob to reserve & get it refueled. But yes, 200NS' fuel indicator can't be trusted that's all. However, my bike's fuel indicator seems to be getting more accurate by time ? weird.
only thing I dislike about 200NS is it's exhaust note/ thanks to the underbelly exhaust. but it also gives it such a sexy back

    Buy it already lol!

I might do that myself.. may first have a look at some tutorial YT vids. thanks
about the suspension, I think it's fine. it's rear pressure, i'll put it to 28psi as u say.

I bought the Pulsar at the start of this month.

History: I Have been riding a CBZ since Dec 2000. Back in college I said I will not change this bike for 10 years. Surprisingly I used my CBZ for 12 years, Pulsar, in my mind was the main competition for CBZ and as the decade went by the CBZ could not come up with anything to beat the Pulsar. 7 years back i started work and i used my bike only on the weekends. Once i got married i was doing more miles on the car compared to my bike.
In the last 12 years only 2 bikes kinda of interested me, Pulsar 200( all black with that silver Silencer looked great) and FZ-16( great looker again). I didn't like the way pulsar rode and FZ was great but there power wasn't a huge upgrade from the CBZ.. Since i don't use the bike alot i never thought about buying a new bike.

2012 was interesting year. I heard so much about the Duke and when it was announced i started having a look online about the bike. When it came to the showroom in indiranagar i went to have look at it on Sunday I was quite impressed with the bike, the way it looked and the spec was pretty amazing. I happened to overhear this chap talking about pulsar 200 ns and went back home and checked out the pictures and some videos and i knew i was in trouble.. i loved the way both these bikes looked.
As more information started coming up online i was stuck in making a decision. Not only did the bike look quite different but the nature in the way they rode and performed was different.
In the end the i decided on to buy the pulsar because of couple of reasons.
        1. The bike seemed to be a replica of the way i behaved. Generally chilled out, but ready to make a rush to the peak when there was a need.
        2. End of the day i don't use the bike to commute on a daily basis so the extra 50k for the duke did not make too much sense( mind you if the price difference was closer it would have been really hard for me to decide).

Reviews seem good and the biggest doubt i had in buying the pulsar was that there so many guys here who spoke about the vibrations. I test rode the pulsar at least 5 times before i decided it was more of an individual issue varying from person to person. I ride a CBZ classic... Vibration as its middle name.
I booked my bike in Khivraj motors (indiranagar). 1 reason i chose this place was because they never had a test ride bike when i went. Other places took a bike out from their stock or display and gave it for test ride.
I went on Tuesday and made a full payment. They said the bike would be delivered on Thursday.
I specifically asked the salesperson i wanted to inspect the bike before it went for delivery. However our man forgets about it and sent the bike anyways. I didn't loose my cool about it( lets see what fate had in store for me). I gave my old bike away to a relative of mine, until i made that last ride on that bike i didn't realize i would feel sad about selling it. I got to the showroom on time and saw my bike for the 1st time. Finished the last bit of procedure and delivery chap explained a few things about the bike. I listened patiently ( although i was sure i knew alot more than him about the bike). Then i inspected the bike carefully in the sunlight, checked the coolant of the bike and old levels. The bike had done 4 kms on the ODO (the RTO was about 2kms from the showroom). They put about 1 litre of fuel and the low fuel light was on. I want the center stand fixed but they said to come over the next day to get it done. The number plate would be done only on Saturday I moved out of the showroom and the transition from the CBZ to the pulsar was perfect. Didn't feel a huge difference in the body posture. Rode to the fuel station and put Rs500 worth of fuel. Hmmm.. the low fuel light on and the then i noticed the fuel bars missing. This got me a bit worried. Will all those horror stories of vibrations come true? So the next day i went in the evening got the center stand fixed by the service guys and then had to wait for another chap would check the issue with the light. It turned out of the be the guy who delivered the bike to me. He had check and said come in the morning as he was busy with deliveries and would take time to fix my issue. Meanwhile i told a couple of my buds who have dukes and they started saying a few things about the bajaj and so so.. they seemed more upset about the whole matter compared to me. So the next day i went by in the morning.. got my number plate done( normal plate, i will get the IND later), the delivery chap took the bike up and pulled out the tank and then did some adjustment with the wires and then the problem was sorted. Its almost 400 kms in 7 days. Initial calculation of mileage seems to be around 45kms/L( reserve method). I am following the run in instructions. Keeping the bike at 3-4 Rpms less that 55kms/h. Once in a way the speed goes up to 60kms/h. The back brake has a lot bite and i need to be careful. I heard the Radiator fan come on a few times so i was happy that it was working. I will update as i put in some more kms on the ODO.

Question1: Should I stick to the DTSI oil for the 1 service or should i switch to motul? If motul, which version and why?
Question2: I was planning for trip after 1000kms to Nandhi Hills. We will be riding fast and hard. Since the manual says 2000kms Run-in period. is this a good idea? Should i wait?

My speed drastically reduced and there was no reserve indicator light so couldnot judge the situation :P

Bike cranked & ready to go...didn't feel any lag before this happened...

Correct way AFAIK is take the bike off the side stand ,straighten it,wait for few seconds and then turn the key to on and check the fuel bars .

The problem is if it is supposed to work like that everytime then we will get adapted. The first time when i filled my fuel it worked perfect with reserve indicator on when trip meter comes to two bar.So when the next time it happened i am not able to guess it for 5 minutes.

There are problems in all the bike which you cant deny it and it will be very minor issue which the service center will rectify provided they are good at it.In these respect Probiking, chennai solved my rust issues & tank vibrations and after that handlebar was not tight enough.Again i went to them to rectify the same. The bike if maintained well and loved its gonna never disappoint you.

it will spoil the look of the bike and moreover as surojit mentioned only the cross winds which will cause hamper to our speed .. Apart from that u can easily do 100-120 without any issues...

Did a 300Km ride in NS, with my Wife as Pillion ( on a single day back and forth with out much of rest, took enough butt breaks though).

Bangalore to Shivanasamudram Falls, Didn't get any complaints from her regarding the seat comfort, on the contrary she was all praises.

She even commented the riding comfort was better than our Bullet Classic 350 ( don't eat me alive here guys, even I agree to the fact (Vibration in new 350) for the new twin spark engine and the stock seats the vibration really sets in after 90KMPH).

The bike was a breeze to ride.

i rode continuously for 250km so only this feedback about seat including the time of about 40 minutes riding through full traffic at the afternoon.
