rubbing compound should helpOriginally posted by ramdante View PostPulsar 200NS parts list

A rubbing compound would help remove scratches that are not deep. As your bike's paint is not worn, please use it where the scratches are. Wax after using the rubbing compound.Originally posted by ramdante View PostYesterday I was carrying some heavy stuff over the tank, and there are some sand scratches on the tank at 2 places, tried using wax, polish, etc., didn't help
Should I try some scratch removers? Which one is recommended guys? And how should I apply it?Last edited by danny king; 12-07-2012, 04:21 PM.Your bike is a part of you....

This.Originally posted by thegeneboy View PostLike Vivek said, removing the leg guards is a strict NO... Those guards takes all the hit when your bike falls (touch wood this doesn't happen) but better to be safe na... If you remove the guards and for some God forsaken reason ur bike falls your tank, handlebards and uR LEGS are gonna take a serious hit..
Now the sari guard - can be removed ... but I find only one use of it and that is to hook up bungee cords
Guys never remove the leg guards.. It's their for a purpose. My own bike had a minor fall on the side once (after applying front brakes as a bus dead stopped in front of me) & the leg guard took the entire hit & weight on it. If leg guard wasn't there the bike would've had damage & scratch marks on the tank, tail cowl etc..
lol I learned a crucial lesson that day.. never trust a bus driver & always maintain a safe distance from it's rear or go around it. Buses usually stop unpredictably to pick up passengers.
I also think the tire huger is a acceptable addon & it shouldn't be removed either. just my opinion. but 99% of NSians remove it

Please do not try anything like that . You are likely to aggravate those minor scratches like that(with abrasives and rubbing) . Just keep applying wax normally and ignore it . In some time the scratches will become invisible as they lose their edges . Also it is unlikely to affect your ride or make you go any slowerOriginally posted by ramdante View PostYesterday I was carrying some heavy stuff over the tank, and there are some sand scratches on the tank at 2 places, tried using wax, polish, etc., didn't help

thats a huge sum...Originally posted by bhuwansaini View PostHey
I had an accident a while ago and got the bike repaired with insurance
Most of the parts replaced was metal. I paid 16065/- for the repair and I received 8410/- from the insurance. Most expensive parts were fork assembly, front tyre and head lamp.
Plastic parts were at most 3500/- as far as I can infer from the bill. I can list the entire bill if someone wants a clearer view. Is that a fair amount that insurance covered?
please do post the breakup of the cost
thata looking wow.... btw bro what happened to your nails? you chewed them all? lolOriginally posted by nishant.sukharia View PostDid some inscription work on the legs of my babe....
Cost :-
---Fevicryl Acrylic Colour : 18 bucks
---Brush : 10 bucks
---1 Hour & 15 mins to do the complete job.
---Smile on my face : Priceless

-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
Always wanted my bike to have these
-------------------------------------
-------------------------------------
Lack of a centre stand was a pain when I started to do it on the left side
...but did it anyway...
Also , my earlier post regarding the vibration of the black coloured components on the tank got resolved on its own somehow...also the tyres perform really nice after the run-in...
and those tank vibes come and go on their own...strange stuff...making the afr rich smoothens the engine with no drop in mileage
remove the saree guard but dont remove the leg guard... it will firstly protect your legs and secondly and most importantly it will protect the radiator...in case of a fall if the radiator is gone then you will be stranded...you wont be able to ride the bike...Originally posted by abhiuppi View PostGoing to remove the leg guard and sari guard. Does it make any difference. Want to make my naked red bull look more naked.
5rs? hahahaha...Originally posted by ankur2smart View PostHere in Bangalore it usually ranges from 5rs to 10rs per tyre

thats the exact reason i didn't use a rubbing compound on my scratches... i just apply 3-4 coats of carnauba on the scratched surface and keep it like that... its a bike aftrall, it will get scratched eventually... everything is good till the engine is goodOriginally posted by Pinaki View PostPlease do not try anything like that . Power of Email and a good news
So i had sent an email to "sai service" customer care and got no reply about so many service jobs not caried out..sent an email to bajaj customer care and BINGO
after 2 days i get a call to come again and get the incomplete jobs done...
if anyone wants i can put the long email with my complaints..
Also the manager has told me the rubber grommets have come and will be installed...bajaj has made grommets for each bike and sent to their SVC so i was told by december end all bikes will get rubber grommets. I dont know how they plan to do like may be call each owner or something else but yes the manager himself confirmed that yes he will get those installed in my bike
Since i am busy with exams till 18th dec i wont be able to go,so on 19th i am going to SVC to get my incomplete jobs done and get the tank vibration problems solved.
Also
The manager told bajaj has organized some training sort of stuff for the NS owners and for me as i stay in mumbai and in kandivali he said ur neartest SVC is in borivali so you will be invited.
It will be for 4 days and over 700 NSians will be coming..
All NSians..just contact your SVC branch manager...they will help you out every time u have a problem and ask them about the rubber grommets...
If they dont help out...you always have the bajaj customer care....very happ that atleast a customer was heard and given a chance to get his complaint resolvedPulsar 200NS parts list

previously, i thought that the sound is not coming from my bike but now i'm sure that it IS coming from the bike.
to reduce/permanently eliminate the vibrations.Originally posted by ashu_nik View PostRubber grommets !! for what ?? where are they planning to put grommets ?Riding a bike is an art - A thing that you do because you feel something inside...!!

Try riding your motorcycle over potholes without the tool kit inside the rear pillion seat. Its probably the sound of those tools hitting each other inside.
If the sound still persists, take it to your nearest SVC.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take...,
But by the moments that take your breath away...

i did mention that the sound is not metallic so tools could be ruled out...Originally posted by rossyamaha46 View PostTry riding your motorcycle over potholes without the tool kit inside the rear pillion seat. Its probably the sound of those tools hitting each other inside.
