  • Issues fixed up. Clutch wire had issue. Replaced. Thanks to Antz.bin for the tip! Now at 20k+ (new odo's 4921kms). All geared up and set for the Saddle Sore this 12th. Fingers crossed!

While my recent test riding, found the bike could do 138 @ 8k RPM with a total weight of near 170 (I am around 90 odd kilos nowadays). Dint know that. I was the one sitting pillion and logging data. Reached 143 @8.2k RPM in tunnel.

it seems like the sound of the rear monoshock...even I get it if I ride over a pothole a tad too fast...
or maybe it could be the centre stand (if you've installed it that is*)...

      • Funny today i removed that nimbu mirchi from my front number plate and the helmet lock and the sound is no more :P

But too low mileage...28.8 under sane riding..70% city and rest open roads

i am 300 on odo and i knw i shudt worry abt mileage in running in but hoped it will atleast be on the correct side of 30 and atleast till 35

Performance has been noticeably increasing as kms go by. Only one query. Does the 200NS need more twist of accelerator than other bikes at lower speeds? Every time the bike is between 0-20 kmph, to get enough pickup I need to twist the accelerator more than I would like to. This is a bit annoying given large number of speed breakers in Bangalore . Would appreciate responses/comments regarding this. At higher speeds, this machine goes like a rocket with little effort.

Also, what is the suggested upper speed limit after first servicing (planning to get it done at around 500-550kms on odo).
more twist of the accelerator ? huh i don't think so, you need to be at the proper gear to attain proper acceleration. If you are in 3rd gear and try to accelerate from 10kmph it will definitely need more twisting of the throttle!
And does the bike go like a rocket at higher speeds ? Dude you haven't crossed 60kmph yet (ok once u did 70) , so... enjoy the ride, let it warm up for a couple of mins and then ride. let the speeds build up linearly during the first 1000-1500km and you can do 80's with no issues.

its coming from the front racer... Get it tightened and it will be solved.... @nishant: me too have that nail biting bug... and yes the bike does have a mind of its own...at night when the temperature drops to around 15 degrees, the bike runs so damn smooth.....

it's the cold air that's causing this, ICE's love cold air cooler air has a higher density, thus containing more oxygen per volume unit than warmer air . and on a side note maybe your afr is not at its optimum, start by cleaning the air filter and later get the carb tuned.

                    • I am facing a strange issue.. My engine oil level is way below 'min'. Infact its like there's no engine oil. But the strange part is that i had changed the engine oil to motul 5100 just 300kms back. That too by myself. I can guarantee i had put in 1.2L of engine oil. But now when i check my oil through the oil level checking window, its fully empty. I can't see any oil in that inspection window at all.
Please help! What should i do?

tell us how did u check it?

on the main stand or no main stand?

after a ride or after overnight parking

                        hot or cold engine

My advice is check when the bike is Cold and not on the centre stand but when both wheels touch the ground and the bike is perpendicular to the ground and wait for a couple of minutes at that position and then check the oil...it should be above the minimum level...

hmm might be... i have recently started feeling a bit of vibrations and dhak shak loose panel sounds too... got to take out some time and go to the svc... not getting time at all....
there is a nut below the brake pedal with a long screw (silver color)...locate that nut and adjust the pedal to your liking.. then to adjust the brake light, locate another nut (black color) which is just behind the rear brake lever ans adjust it to get the desired brake light settings... hope this helps...

you are running a very very rich mixture... thats the reason you are getting that low top speed... i run a bit rich and my top speed is 131 in 6th gear with full upright posture... but when i was running lean i was getting 135 in 6th... make it a bit leaner but not much else you will get vibrationc and a rough engine... happpy riding

                          Hi Bud!

Changed the Engine oil... filled in 1.2L and the bike is doing fine!
When changing the oil, the drained oil was measured and it was only 800ml... after riding only 1050-1100 kms!! Seems the service guys did not put proper quantity of oil. Not changed any setting and getting 40+ with sane riding no hard acceleration

It is very ... err you know what , to i) leave your bike's oil change to the mercy of some duffer ii) not know how to check engine oil level correctly iii) not know what oil type and grade to fill it with iv) not check your engine oil level regularly v) overrunning the oil beyond it's useful kms or life . Then come to the forums asking how your bike doesn't seem to have any oil in it . How are other member's supposed to know that while you yourself don't ??!!

A bike run with too low oil shall seize . Doesn't matter if that is the costliest synthetic oil in the world made from the rarest snakes . Conversely a bike's engine with correct oil level maintained , with the worlds cheapest most faltu quality oil shall come to no harm , however hard you try to kill it . My humble request to all - Read your bike's owner's manual carefully and learn to check , maintain and change oil yourself correctly . Every biker worth his petrol should be able to do basic maintenance like an oil-change on his bike . Phssssst

Sir, if i already knew these things i wouldn't asking around for advices.
And also, i'm asking for help because i know how much oil i had put in and i checked it the usual way which most of them did in this thread, because i've been following this thread for quite sometime now.
Also i've clearly mentioned that i had changed the oil myself just 300 kms ago.

                              • How are you checking oil level ?
Yes , if changed oil by yourself then such low levels as to be invisible in the oil window is unusual (may be a problem) . A new engine shouldn't be burning almost any oil at all .
The thing to do now is to top up the oil to correct level and keep an eye on it weekly (to ascertain if it happens again - if so immediately report the problem to ASC) .
