now if u say is true...then reserve for me should be 5.4 litres..

    is it?

i dont think so a i have tried and reserve is almost 2.5 litres...
i dont know how much the actual reserve is, but the main is almost 12.5 litres... what you did is you stopped filling up when you saw that the petrol is up to the neck..but keep filling and filling it and it will keep swallowing more... arey bhai i tried it myself... problem is whenever you fill petrol from a pump, the pressure with which the fuel comes out of the nozzle is very high, so it makes the petrol to overflow and you feel the tank is full... try it by pouring petrol from a jar through a funnel and see how much it can take... do wait for few seconds sometimes for the petrol to settle down... it can really take upto 15 litres and its accurate measurement since i poured it from jars and bottles of accurate quantity..

15 litres is impossible. Little over 12 is what the limit is. I always do a "tank-full" and till date have done it for some 7-8 times. I can write it on a bond paper for you. :P U sure the tank isn't leaking?? LOL

Well, jokes apart. I guess the seat issue is subjective. Even i find the seat uncomfortable. My butt is perpetually sore since i bought my NS. I gotta see for some better seat soon.
lol..well good to see that fellow xbhpians are keeping a track of my earlier unbelieveable posts.. anyways jokes apart, when ever i tank up from a pump, i can put in no more than 10.5 litres in main with a lot of sqeezing... now i fill petrol from a different location from jars and bottles(mineral water bottles) of accurate measurements... okay here is my last tank full report... i was running on main with the low fuel light on for around 15 minutes, then i tanked up and filled in exactly 12 litres of fuel... so 12 litres + remaining feul in main(assumed that remaining was 500ml) = 12.5 litres in main and 2.6 litres in reserve... so it equals to 15.1 litres.. such a simple math... even i can sign a bond that it can take 15 litres... or maybe each tank is different lol...

yes, rahul devnath and sayank10 have fitted hid and i have fitted philips diamond vision... you can try either of the two... results are quite good... and plzz no k&n.. i mean why ruin a perfectly running bike?

Does it sound that good above 7k ? Cause I do it all the time inside my sector lul .. around my residence & elsewhere... many heads turn when I do it.
I don't know how NS sounds like above 7k as a spectator cause high speeding NS isn't a common sight & all the NS riders I see seem to ride it at medium speeds ? idk why.
I do enjoy when the engine grunts at higher revs when riding myself but riding at medium speeds.. yea I think it could sound better there. Another fact that above 6-7k my bike engine sounds a bit rough ? May be Motul semi synthetic will solve this issue.

    edit-
arey.. somebody clear this up. if I change engine oil myself to Motul instead of Bajaj genuine/ does it not void the warranty ? There is something written in the manual idk.. What if they catch it on the 2nd service that I've been running on Motul instead of their Bajaj oil.
same here, i hardly see any ns owners ripping like crazy... but its true man, the sound it makes once past 6.5-7k is exhilarating... its addictive... what we hear from inside the helmet with visor down is just a muted bassy hum from the exhaust, nothing else... with the visor up, its a balance between the bassy humm and a twin cylinder kinda scream... and when i told my friend to rip past me so that i could hear the exhaust note, i was like OMG.. it can freak out people with weak hearts... it just screams at the top of its voice with a multicylinder kinda note and it sounds like its coming from deeeeeeep inside a hollow pipe... this exhaust note once made a guy on a r1 to look back and notice what it was and then he started ripping.... and about the engine oil, it wont void any warranty as long as the svc guys are unaware of it and its impossible to make out what oil you are running once it burnt.... change it yourself... some svc dont even mind what oil you use.. my svc just happily allow me to use motul...

Unscrewed the side nut, removed the spring attached to it (for brake lights), removed the brake pedal, installed the brake pedal by rotating it somewhat clockwise, attached the brake light spring. Done..!!

But wait wait.. When I started the bike I saw that the brake light is always ON..!! This problem was solved by adjusting the spring position because a nut is given in which the spring is installed. Problem Solved..

    Is It?? NOT AT ALL

When I checked by rear brakes they were not working at all. What I did was again made it like it was before and still facing the same issue of brake pedal. I want the foot position like we have in gear pedal, somewhat tilted forwards.

Tried the idea of a fellow xBHPian to install something on foot peg and hence make the height difference between brake pedal and foot peg. That didn't work too. Sorry mate. What I felt was a height difference in both foot pegs hence again uncomfort.

    Anyone with a help??
i didn't get it why you removed the whole lever from the assembly and tried fitting it by tilting it downwards... i already told you the way to do it.... dont unscrew the pedal using that big nut.. instead adjust that small nut with a loooong silver screw which is there below the lever... then to adjust the rear brake light just adjust the black nut covered in a black rubber kinda casing which is located behind the pedal... try it again...

Had to keep the bike there for 2 days & 1 night...

    Issues resolved :
    Ghunghru sound : resolved
Fairing noise : resolved (they used some dual sided tapes)
Vibrations (didn't had much earlier anyway) : reduced ( almost none ! )
Low oil pressure indicator popping occasionally : resolved

I don't know why but they also changed the locks. ( covered under warranty so it was free of cost )
Got the chain service done as well. ( 75 bucks inclusive of taxes)
Something called the "Truss Screw" & Gasket clutch cover also replaced. ( 33 bucks )
well same thing happened with me too.. i asked the svc guys if the grommets have arrived... they said 'what?' i said grommets.. they were like "grom-what?' " i got fed up and told them in raw desi language... "rubber gutka'... then they said 'oh achcha gutka? to aisa bolo na'

Anyway my handlebar has lot vibrations but not uncomfortable, and bike also makes tick tick sound when going to pot holes on road. everytime i complain about this, they just tighten the racer, but still i get that sound.. after i complained again, he said it might be chain, but after tightening chain, its still making sound. And i'm sure its coming from front.

      help me guys...
Check your front cone set. It might need lubrication, Hence the tick tick sound from front when u brake hard.

        lol..."gutka"
Here in gujarati its called "datta"...
Btw I was cleaning my bike today & the inscriptions on the tyres didn't got washed off even when I rubbed on it very hard with a wet cloth...so acrylic colour is the way to go guys...totally dependable & worth it...
But those on the left portion of the rear tyre are gone because of the chain lube or some other oil...even the alloys had some oil on them...so I'll have to do that again...

So, what they replied about the "Rubber Guthka"??? When will they come to Kolkata??

BTW Guys, went to Nainital for touring, but with our car.
Did some fantastic driving within the superb hilly regions of NAnital, and Kausani, and that too with our new XUV, with which I'm highly impressed with the ride quality... But then missed my NS terribly, seeing those twisties, and good roads, along with the awesome scenery..
The roads there are superb, and any Corner Maniac's eyes will lit up seeing the Hairpins, and other turns.. Highly suggested to take ur NS and enjoy the roads and the surroundings.

            • Congrats brother. The new generation pulsar is indeed a gem. Could u please throw some light on the mileage of the bike? As there are many fellow bikers who wish to know the actual mileage of the bike. I had heard it from many owners, that the mileage of the bike is between 25-27, while the company claims it to be 35. I m interested in buying the same machine, but need to know the actual mileage in Mumbai.

Well. i ride my bike under very optimium riding conditions. just clocked 400kms so far in the last 7 days. i am doing it by the reserve to reserve method. once i finish my 1 service i wil do the tankful method.
                1st time i got 44kms/l
                2nd time i got 41kms/l

                • its difficult to say....some people say that its 45+ and some say its just 30

the thing is which came to my recent notice that the tank when filled to the brim appears full but it will take more petrol..so may be thats causing all the confusion...i calculated that i got 29 FE but if i filled my tank up less that time though it appeared full the mileage would have been 50 which is totally awesome...now i dont knw if that is true but i'll ask the bajaj officials at the service camp which is going to be held next week what exactly is the tank size...

                  • Bro, the NS is my first bike, i can assure you if you ride sensibly during run-in u'll get atleast 40 , only during heavy traffic, (stuck in first gear) or redlining it might go to 35 , don't know how you're friends managed to get such a poor mileage. I'm in Bangalore but don't think Mumbai would make that much of a difference. Go for it !!

i really really really hope what u say is true...because last time i filled up 9.6 litres after hitting reserve

assuming the tank is 12.5 litres i filled in 3 litres less than full

this time my full tank i filled 4.69 litres and travelled 135 kms

i probably didnt do a full tank

if i did an actual full tank i just rode 135 kms in 1.69 litres of petrol and the FE is which gives FE of 80 so we can rule that out...

if i filled at the exact same level like last time i did 135 kms in 4.69 litres of fuel that is 29 FE

the correct answer might be somewhere in between so i MIGHT have got around 40 assuming i filled it more than last time

i ride sensibly and i am still in run in period not even crossed 500 km mark

i shift at 3.5k rpm most of the times
                        4k rpm sometimes

and just twice or thrice a day i shift at 4.5~5k rpm and i dont think such a thing will ruin my running in..

just once i ripped my bike and max went to 60...for me ripping on NS has been opening up the throttle little less than half...and riding sensibly is just a small twist of right hand

I have always got 40-45kmpl on my bike. That too only city riding.. I check it every time i fill up my tank..

Anyways guys, i'm planning to start going on some trips (call it mini tours) on my ns, so would be using gps all the time.. But i just don't know how am i suppose to mount a simple gps holder or a mobile holder (i can use it as gps) so that i can go around easier.. I don't want to have to stop and check my gps every few kms.
Has anyone tried installing any kind of a mobile holder on their ns???
