  • I own 200 NS in red, I'm 5.6" guy from Mumbai, i never felt any difficulty in handling this beauty in traffic as well as offroad... don't think too much over height issue, just own this beast and enjoy riding..........

    • What are the mods that are to be made on the NS's carb if it is to be ridden at places with very low air density - like in hilly regions? Right now, mine's rich.
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

      • I am a little over 5'10" and even i cannot touch both my feet on the ground that easily. i tend to toe both feet or use either of my feet completely. Strength of your legs probably is more important than just height.

go for test ride as solmen suggested
according to my knowledge it not only the saddle height but person himself and seat design plays a major role

note am note owner of 200ns

Earlier when friends say that NS will not be suitable for less than 5'8" tall guys, I used to show them how I ride the bike. I'm a little over 5'4". Yea,I cant touch both feet down at the same time. But my Love for the bike, made me adapt to it. I run it everyday for about 20kms.(BUT THE ROAD IS SMOOTH AND WIDE IN THIS AREA WERE I ROAM...NO SUCH DEEP POT HOLES) And Im totally comfortable with it.But now that I heard some of you people say about those difficulties they had due to NS saddle height, I also fear, someday I've to face it too...
Someone asked earlier about having a pillion..There will be a problem,if the pillion is a lady, and she sits with "both legs, one side(left)" style...thats because with this height one cannot put both legs at the same time, and if the bike bends to the right side when halt,we'll lose balance.
I'VE NEVER FACED THIS ISSUE...BECAUSE NO ONE EVER SAT WITH ME LIKE THAT. My mom will never sit as a pillion in my NS...she is the who gave me the money for the bike...
          but....

well....we cant have all the gooddy gooddies at the same time...
If you love the bike...go for it,but be cautious about all these issues..enjoy the ride

Most off-road bikes are very tall even for six-footers. Just ride it like you would ride an off road bike.

From 5'4'' to 5'10'' no one can touch the ground completely ???
then how come I (5'5"- 168cms , 58KG) touch more then half of the feet and can touch full feet if the pillion is more than 70KG

below is me at the time of TR

what the word sorry doing here in "xbhp"???
yes you are right. not only height matters so better way is to check in the TR.
do multiple test rides and you will be able to judge the height

and finally thanks for the compliment

              • Today my GF was my pillion. Finally.. (as she lives in another city, but she was here in my city for an exam). It was quite a good experience..
Her expressions were "yaar, Its awesome.. But ye kitni unchi hai..!!"

Before that, yesterday gave my beast a beauty bath and then went to a radium shop and installed rim tapes. Red..!! It was quite a job as center stand is still not installed on my red monster. It was because earlier when I went to SVC and asked about it but it was not available. I asked about dual horns as in P150, P180 but he said that dual horns will decrease the life of wirings and battery. Is it true?
Asked at many shops for Hella horns but couldn't find that too.
And yes, asked about rubber grommets too but the guy said that is also not available yet. WTH..!! Is there anything available or not??
Planning to order Hella Mach 9 Horn for my NS. Will it be good? As the stock horn is not at all audible in heavy traffic.
Riding a bike is an art - A thing that you do because you feel something inside...!!

Also, what i Have seen is the NS is designed pretty complexly, as compared to other similar bikes.
Just to give u an example - To clean the Air Filter of the NS, You need to open up the tank part, which is quite complex, with the different nuts, and the wires, pipesGoing out of the tanks, and getting connected to various other points.. Same for the headlight assembly.
Even the carburetor is so carefully hidden within the perimeter frame, that tuning the AFR Screw gets difficult, Forget opening up the carb!!!
One needs a set of Allen keys for periodic tightening of the plastic panels of NS. This is a must.

                    Hi,

Yesterday, out of nowhere, my bikes' coolant liquid started leaking. When i noticed it was gone almost completely. Some oil was also gone. I don't know whats wrong. The only unusal thing i did is i rode my bike at 80-100kmph for some 25 kms. Thats not the first time i did it though neither is it the longest stretch (have done 200km highway trip twice). Its mind boggling why it would happen.

Gave it to svc for repair and for second service as well as I am already at ODO 4800 kms. Its gonna take almost a day and half for repairs. The mechanic says nothings damaged, its only a stupid leakage and they are changing all gaskets and fittings. So i hope everything is OK.

Also I would like to confirm that Bajaj is indeed fitting those rubber grommets/packings to reduce vibrations to all NS by default. You don't even need to ask. It will be done during servicing.

I am also facing reduced power and not-so-smooth feel while driving at lower rpms like ~3000. NS surely runs smoothly for 2000+ rpm, but mine was not. It felt like lugging even at 3000 rpm. I though it might be clutch issue as my clutch is also loosened a bit. The svc guy said its carburetor issue. He will fix it.

Dude, get you NS's carburetor setting checked...NS can very well pull from 30kmph on 6th gear..my NS used to..now it can't though but the svc guy said its carburetor issue. He said he'll fix it..

NS can get going at all first 4 gears from stand-still (I have done it few times. didn't do it deliberately, mostly by mistake in traffic)
                    Update on 2nd service:

They fixed the leakage issue of engine oil and coolant. I guess they changed gaskets of some parts, that's it. Nothing was damaged.

The throttle is freed up big time, now the bike accelerates like a hot knief through butter. Power delivery at lower end is improved a lot. I guess they made the AFR richer. One funny thing is, when i stop at a signal and bike is idling, it idles at 2400 rpm but if i switch if off and switch on again it idles at 1700rpm. Even while running if i pull the clutch and let the bike roll, the engine idles at 2400rpm. Thats weird. I cant figure whats the matter.

They say, they fixed rubber grommets. But I don't feel much difference as such. May be there are less vibs in sub-assemblies but the vibs on fuel tank, the handle and foot pegs have increased to such an extent that they are unbearable now. In fact even if I switch off engine and let the bike rool down the slop i can feel vibs on foot pegs, gear shifter and rear break lever. I don't know what sort of rubber grommets they fitted.

I got to take the bike back to sort the issues.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

                    • while stock light was not enough for me earlier i switched to osram night breaker plus, but still not satisfied ,so switched to 35 watt 4300k hid.the spread is good.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

Can you upload some pics of the same ?, that would be of great help.

Even I were thinking of head light upgrade considering , night driving in mind.

What all changes you had to use the HID in the NS.

                            Thanks in Advance.

                              • Anybody here knows the function of this part that is inside the front console?
I found it to be useless and removed it,
the console vibrations have reduced a lot since then, in fact I can say ZERO console vibrations.
