today i was riding my friend's duke for a fair bit of time.. i was checking everything on it and i was amazed too see that it can do low speeds like 40kmph on the 6th gear with zero problem and even pull effortlessly from then onwards ...whereas our ns'es struggle to da 47kmph
in the 6 th .... what do you think that makes it different
i dont think it is due to dohc or fi( definitely fi will help in pulling from 40kmph but while maintaining 40kmph itself the duke feels more torquier ) ... i think it might be due to the fs oil he was using or the bit more flowing exhaust ...what do u ppl thing ???? any fs oil using ppl through some light on this ......

NS struggles at 47kmph on 6th gear??!!! I don't think so...atleast mine doesn't. Though I don't ride it on the that speed-gear combination but I have tried it and it doesn't lug at all. The lugging starts at around 35-40kmph.Originally posted by Karthi.N View Posttoday i was riding my friend's duke for a fair bit of time.. i was checking everything on it and i was amazed too see that it can do low speeds like 40kmph on the 6th gear with zero problem and even pull effortlessly from then onwards ...whereas our ns'es struggle to da 47kmph

In my run in period (1st service at 667 kms) I maintained the speed of <45 all the time and I didn't faced any lugging problem in any gear including the 6th one. Haven't rode Duke but what i know about my NS is that till now I never faced any such issue with this beasty beauty..Originally posted by Karthi.N View Posttoday i was riding my friend's duke for a fair bit of time.. i was checking everything on it and i was amazed too see that it can do low speeds like 40kmph on the 6th gear with zero problem and even pull effortlessly from then onwards ...whereas our ns'es struggle to da 47kmph

Firstly, NS can do Speeds below 45 kmph at 6th gear without any lugging..Originally posted by Karthi.N View Posttoday i was riding my friend's duke for a fair bit of time.. i was checking everything on it and i was amazed too see that it can do low speeds like 40kmph on the 6th gear with zero problem and even pull effortlessly from then onwards ...whereas our ns'es struggle to da 47kmph

Secondly , The difference is not Due to FS oil, but Due to FI in Duke. Since it has a FI, the fuel Supply will be regulated as per the requirment. For ur NS, u need to tune ur bike to a richer setting, and keep the idle RPM @ >1.5K, to feel the Torqueness. (hardening the clutch setting, will also help)sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

Hi Everyone,
I have been following this thread from quite a while now. I have few queries and I will be really thankful to all of you if you could clarify them.
1)My height is 5 7’. Will it be enough for me to ride Pulsar 200NS safely & comfortably?
2)Can I reduce the height of the bike by adjusting the shocker settings? If yes, then will it affect my handling or comfort?
3) As some of you have pointed out that there are certain issues like the bike swayes towards left, vibrations around the foot peg & tank region, trouble during gear shifts, Colour fading, Rust in parts etc. Are these issues serious or they can be taken care of without much of a trouble? As pointed by some people, is it true that initial batch of NS came with some problems but now the new batches are much better & problem free??
On weekdays I need the bike to go to office (around 6 kms with hell lot of traffic) whereas on weekends I need it for bike trips etc. So, will it be a problem to manage this bike in traffic as it has a very heavy handle (compared to P150) & a bigger turning radius??
Considering my height and above mentioned requirements; is there any other bike which I should consider?? Anything between 150-200cc will do. My budget can go up to 1.1 lakh.

either you are running on a very lean AFR or your bike has a considerable amount of speedo error...cuz my NS can do 42 kph in 6th gear effortlessly...though below 41 kph in 6th my bike starts asking for a downshift...still you can ride even @ 30 kph in 6th gear w/o letting the bike to stall...though this must not be practised...Originally posted by Karthi.N View Posttoday i was riding my friend's duke for a fair bit of time.. i was checking everything on it and i was amazed too see that it can do low speeds like 40kmph on the 6th gear with zero problem and even pull effortlessly from then onwards ...whereas our ns'es struggle to da 47kmph

1.) I'd say that NS is best suited for 5' 8 " + guys but you should be fine too...Originally posted by Shubham@bikez View Postvibrations around the foot peg & tank region, trouble during gear shifts, Colour fading, Rust in parts etc. Are these issues serious or they can be taken care of without much of a trouble? 2.)You can reduce the height by a very small fraction by setting the monoshock to its softest setting. This would lead to a more comfortable ride, but if you are into high speed cornering then soft suspension is not advisable...
3.) I had vibrations on my NS some time back but then I tuned its AFR to rich which did wonders with the ride quality.
Later I gave the bike to the SVC to fix the remaining vibes & now even @ 110 kph there are no vibrations at all !!! Not even for the pillion !! If the pillion doesn't take a look @ the console then I can bet that he/she won't even realise that the speeds are over 110 kph on my NS...

My bike still sways to the left though & I'm planning to get it fixed on the 2nd service.
Didn't had any color fading or rusting issues with my NS yet.
About your query regarding whether it will suit you riding requirement : I believe that NS totally makes sense for you...you won't feel the bike's weight at all...its very easy to put the bike back on its wheels too in case of a crash...
The turning radius is bigger than the conventional bikes but you should get used to it within the first 100 kms or so...

Thanks Buddy
Actually last week I took test ride of NS but one cannot make out everything in just 2 mins... Although, I did notice that only my toes were touching the ground
.However, If I put one foot on the brake peg then I was able to put my other foot flat on the ground. This made me wonder that will this affect my bike handing or not?
And yeah one more thing..... Is any friend of your having rust issues with this monster?

SVC refused to put on an additional horn...and i find the horn very bad...when the bike is checked..while servicing or just when the engine is off or while i am warming up..the horn sounds ok...but in traffic..the horn is too too feeble
has anyone added another horn? if yes from which SVC(mumbai western suburbs)?
to add another horn do we need to add with a relay?
i dont want any fancy horns..just a normal additional horn to make a dual setup like in earlier pulsars...any approx cost?
warranty issues?Pulsar 200NS parts list

Hi,
Yesterday, out of nowhere, my bikes' coolant liquid started leaking. When i noticed it was gone almost completely. Some oil was also gone. I don't know whats wrong. The only unusal thing i did is i rode my bike at 80-100kmph for some 25 kms. Thats not the first time i did it though neither is it the longest stretch (have done 200km highway trip twice). Its mind boggling why it would happen.
Gave it to svc for repair and for second service as well as I am already at ODO 4800 kms. Its gonna take almost a day and half for repairs. The mechanic says nothings damaged, its only a stupid leakage and they are changing all gaskets and fittings. So i hope everything is OK.
Also I would like to confirm that Bajaj is indeed fitting those rubber grommets/packings to reduce vibrations to all NS by default. You don't even need to ask. It will be done during servicing.
I am also facing reduced power and not-so-smooth feel while driving at lower rpms like ~3000. NS surely runs smoothly for 2000+ rpm, but mine was not. It felt like lugging even at 3000 rpm. I though it might be clutch issue as my clutch is also loosened a bit. The svc guy said its carburetor issue. He will fix it.
Dude, get you NS's carburetor setting checked...NS can very well pull from 30kmph on 6th gear..my NS used to..now it can't though but the svc guy said its carburetor issue. He said he'll fix it..Originally posted by Karthi.N View Posttoday i was riding my friend's duke for a fair bit of time.. i was checking everything on it and i was amazed too see that it can do low speeds like 40kmph on the 6th gear with zero problem and even pull effortlessly from then onwards ...whereas our ns'es struggle to da 47kmph

NS can get going at all first 4 gears from stand-still (I have done it few times. didn't do it deliberately, mostly by mistake in traffic)Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

well my bike can do 35 in 6th and below that it knocks a bit...but 30 in 6th is also doable.... tube your ride properly and dont twist the throttle a lot in one go...modulate the throttle accordingly and you can do incrediblly low speeds... and duke can pull so well because it is short geared....Originally posted by Karthi.N View Posttoday i was riding my friend's duke for a fair bit of time.. i was checking everything on it and i was amazed too see that it can do low speeds like 40kmph on the 6th gear with zero problem and even pull effortlessly from then onwards ...whereas our ns'es struggle to da 47kmph

you can manage the heigjht but you have to be very cautios.. bottomline is i wouldn<t recommend it coz its always bettter to get your foot down... you will feel the need of it on bad roads where there are potholes and the sides of the road where the tarmac is higher than the actual land...uwont be able to put your feet down brother... i am 5ft 10 and have trouble in thse locations... last week i put my right leg down and didn't notice that there was a pothole which is lower than the tarmac... so i couldn't touch my right feet down instantly and by the time i tilted by back to stretch my legs i was already along way down and hit by hand on a running bus and rubbed my hand continuoudly on the side atill the driver noticed it and slammed the brakes...i was resting on the side of the bus with my bike and got stuck on the rear wheel arch when he braked... torn my jacket completely which saved me... so if you are in to bad roads then DONT buy the buy for your own good with this height... just an advise brotherOriginally posted by Shubham@bikez View PostHi Everyone,

hope you wont take it otherwise
and softening the suspension will reduce the height but you can soften it just by one step... so difference wont be much.... dont take the risk or even if you like this bike a lot and want it badly, do ensure that you have really strong hands to support the weight of the entire bike...its so damn heavy at adle and the weight is simplt too much if you get slightly tilted... its a really toop heavy bike...the weight is fully concentrated on the top...
well my svs is kind of requesting me to put an extra horn for good... haha... well if you dont like the horn, tune the existing one to make it louder...Originally posted by mayank.travadi View PostSVC refused to put on an additional horn...and i find the horn very bad...when the bike is checked..while servicing or just when the engine is off or while i am warming up..the horn sounds ok...but in traffic..the horn is too too feeble
