red seemed to be the universally accepted one but the arrival of bumblebee changed everything!!Originally posted by Karan_Pulsar200ns View PostYeah buddy even i am confused between yellow and red..
I have always loved RED but yellow seems good in Pics..I am waiting to see both in flesh and then decide..I hope i dont get confused anymore..
Thats exactly what i feel as well buddy...Guess i have to wait till it comes to the showroom to make that choice..Thankfully the showroom guy said i will get the first or second preference because he comes to the hospital where i am going to be a doctorOriginally posted by ajai5777 View PostMe too between yellow and red. But 80% yellow and 20% red. Yellow is in heart and red is in brain

Just revved a Pulsar 200 NS till 8000rpm.Must say she produces an enticing soundtrack with a good turn of power too..!The only thing is that I found was the lack of outright shove at low rpm as say the Pulsar 220.
How can the 220 produce torque everywhere even though it is oversquare engine? Is it due to the comparatively shorter stroke of the 200 NS?
Can somebody please explain further?

If you are talking about adjusting chain slack, it doesn't matter what kind of chain it is, O-Ring, X-Ring, Z-ring, the procedure of tightening and loosing the chain slack is the same so as far as you've done it before on another bike you'll be able to do it in the NS or the one you own right now, just loosen the rear axle, start adjusting the chain slack in the same amount on both sides and re-tighten the axle.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostYa, that will do for me.
Thanks in advance.
About tank-pad, I think, 200NS will surely need a tank-pad, coz what i'v seen the tank bumps up vertically to quite an extent from the seat, and if tank-pad is not provided, that part might get discoloured quickly
@All, anyone with a link to DIY of tightening a o-ring chain.
If you still want to have a step by step tutorial just search "chain slack adjustment" on youtube and you're good to go brother.

Ya, never expected bumblebee to be that eye-catching.Originally posted by sagar_phoenix View Postred seemed to be the universally accepted one but the arrival of bumblebee changed everything!!

BTW, @sagar, best of luck both for your NS, as well as for being a doctor.

pls suggest
@ MG, Payeng and other experienced riders.... please suggest whether these issues are minor/ok or i should demand for a new bike? as it just been 3 days and 140 kms and i am facing all this in a brand new bikeOriginally posted by faffy View PostBy the way, bad news, Issues reported in NS :
1. Engine Oil Leakage, the very next day(2nd day) , took it to SVC, some seal needs to be replaced it seems , not in stock, will get it tomorrow , but i dint expect this to be there, and felt gears and engine had become little rough and hard. This same issue was reported yesterday by some other NS owner also it seems. Anybody on xbhp?
2. Front suspension when pressed down with force, holding the front brake, makes some "khat" noise....also while riding the front suspension is hard/not smooth and gives little upward vertical jerks. I dont know whether the oil is in excess in it or it is less. Acc to SVC guy, some cone setup needs to be tightened or needs to be changes. Will get the same done tomorrow. Any other owners felt the same? Or any seniors can put some light on this?
One more issue which i forgot to tell is:
Vibrations can be felt at rear foot pegs when sitting as a pillion.... anybody else noticed it? its quite irritating
Had been to SVC today morning....
1. Oil Seal was damaged/cut, it has been replaced now and rode some 30 kms ,its fine till now. SV guy did some clutch setting and gears have become smooth. But now i am getting false neutrals
when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear... when shifting from 1 to 2, indicator doesn't show neutral when the bike actually is in neutral and not in 2nd gear
2. This was a serious issue, the issue was with the front wheel axle play and ball bearing and stuff, they changed my entire wheel along with tyre from a brand new NS. Now this issue is solved.
3. For this issue i dint have time as i was getting late for office, would bring this to notice again during 1st service which should be next weekend...
For these issues Manager has taken pics and would be sending it to Bajaj.
Some more observations by me :
1. As said above, false neutrals
2. Can feel mild vibrations at front foot pegs and hadle as well...
any other owners felt the same?
3. Front suspension is quite hard, u can feel even mild uneven surfaces on roads, and unfortunately most roads in pune are repaired in patches and are uneven
and may be i am used to the suspension of Karizma and this being quite hard so this issue...any other owners?
4. In bumper to bumper traffic engine gets heated up and you can feel the heat...but not much though as reported by Duke owners...
@ other owners : please try this , start engine and rev the bike ( bike parked on side stand) and with one hand hold the rear foot pegs and see if u can feel any vinrations .... i am getting loadz of vibrations at rear foot pegs when sitting as a pillion

Ok, thanks bro. Problem is I have never adjusted chain slack in any other bike. So have no idea.Originally posted by leodj29 View PostIf you are talking about adjusting chain slack, it doesn't matter what kind of chain it is, O-Ring, X-Ring, Z-ring, the procedure of tightening and loosing the chain slack is the same so as far as you've done it before on another bike you'll be able to do it in the NS or the one you own right now, just loosen the rear axle, start adjusting the chain slack in the same amount on both sides and re-tighten the axle.

@faffy : I do not feel any vibrations or heating issue. How much does your rpm meter show when its idle

bro if you hold footpeg and rev the bike even in unicorn u can get vibes, btw the footpegs doesnt have rubber part hence you can feel even the smallest vibe easily nothing to worry afaik.Originally posted by faffy View Post@ MG, Payeng and other experienced riders.... please suggest whether these issues are minor/ok or i should demand for a new bike? as it just been 3 days and 140 kms and i am facing all this in a brand new bike

I would suggest everyone to get used to this fact. None of the new generation bikes will have it in the future. If they have that, they will miss out on outright top speed (as in KTM). All this is happening due to stricter emission norms and slowly the 'Low End Torque' machines will be lost to the history books. The phenomenon started with the Cast Iron engined REs being discontinued and being replaced by lower 'Low End Torque' UCE engines. After BS5 norms get introduced (i.e. BS4 for bikes), we should see some of the old gen bikes getting discontinued. Which ones would go first, I do not know, but what we will be left with in a few years time are bikes like 200NS, Duke, CBR150R and Discover 125ST and similar launches from other manufacturers.Originally posted by Sushrut View PostJust revved a Pulsar 200 NS till 8000rpm.Must say she produces an enticing soundtrack with a good turn of power too..!The only thing is that I found was the lack of outright shove at low rpm as say the Pulsar 220.
