Its high time Bajaj raised its standards a bit. Instead of giving crappy bikes for test rides (which they seem to be doing at the moment), they must give proper bikes so that the potential customers do not get a wrong impression.

This vibration thing seems to have caused a lot of confusion and debate so far and still seems to be in an inconclusive state which is frustrating.

@ all - as @suro posted, the vibrations might be caused due to Improper setting of the pads between the actual tank, and the Plastic Tank cover. any one facing this issue please get this checked in the SVC

Another interesting news to all potential and Current owners. India today confirms that 200NS is the most talked about bike in the Indian Online Biking Community.
      Cheers

Hi @rohit.. no offence.. but if you are not buying a NS200.. then y are you going and testing bikes.. i have already mentioned that vibration is more of a perception issue and actual issue being less.. Dude, I have not seen you a unique positive point on the bike, but hooting regularly about the vibration... You shouldn't be having any problem even if it vibrates or not.. Its better you focus on DUKE which you are planning to buy.. Un-necessarily you are spoiling the mood of people on this thread... if you are actually buying any bike.. please focus on that specific thread.. that would be more helpful for you and us.. thanks
If you have never done a mistake in your life, it means you have never tried anything new.

          1) if he is not buying the bike that doesnt mean he cannot test ride it. Also it is a good thing that he has shared his experience as it enlightens people about the potential issues.
          2) the non stop discussion and confusion here has brought the ownership thread to 230+ pages . If this confusion and chaos hadnt prevailed, it would be 100 pages till now.
          3) the Duke 200, which has been highly hyped (particularly as compared to NS) also wont come as good as the people are expecting it to be. Let few months pass and the results shall be exposed.

What i have observed until now is the concern regarding the vibe issue

If its an engine issue the same vibes must have been noticed in KTM as well and am sure nobody has face such vibe issue in the KTM.
Please go through the Duke thread fully, there are vibes issue discussed a lot there too. Also the engine is not the same there are lot of differences between them

Hi, even i have that concern, but will putting it reduce the appeal of the bike?
When i went to showroom to see the bike, i watched the Saree guard of Discover 125 and it had Single side foot rest.
Since so many people are having this concern regarding single side pillion, I hope we will get a good solution from Bajaj soon.

The genre and character of Pulsar 200 NS demands not to have the kind of footrest that's being expected here. Even the previous Pulsar 200 didn't have it and I had taken my mom on it quite a few times and she didn't had any issues on it. Simply put, would anyone expect a lady to sit single sided with a saree on say a Ducati Monster or a MV Brutale?? I guess no would be the answer and same is the case here. The saree guard is there more because of the norms (because of which it was put on the Ninja 250R and the Duke, only to be removed by the owners) , else, the saree guard shouldn't have been there in the first place.

No offense, but I really don't see Bajaj doing much for it.

Let me add more to it. First of all, travelling as single sided pillion, is as it is dangerous and should be avoided. It severely affects the CoG and handeling of the bike. . Doing on bike's like 200NS and Duke, should be in fact prohibited, however we are India. So, anyone who is actually looking forward to carry somebody for a majority of time as single sided pillion, please look for a scooter or at least a commuter oriented bike. Please do not take it as an offence, it's just a sincere concern and a fact.

                      • @suhas : i think you should ask the dealer what he can do about saree guard. May be he can put saree guard of some other bajaj bike. I have not tried searching for saree guard with foot rest.

After following the bike for 9months and booking I have some queries which might pull me back from buying this beast

@chintan & all owners regarding the Saree guard I didnt find a foot rest for women sitting in sideways can it be fitted separately if yes which bike spare would it actually fit or should we live with out footrest for saree guard.
My second query is about the tyres how safe are the TVS ones which are given with P200ns, I heard mixed reviews in this thread. (I personally own Apache RTR and I hate the tyres it skids a lot)

Coming to others aspects which are being discussed as -ves for P200ns here by some fellow Xbhpians
1.vibes- I have lived with RTR and I never found any discomfort with vibes
2.Mileage- Boss My RTR160 gives 45 and any thing above 40 in P200ns I would jump like kid who has seen bagfull of candies
3.pickup- I have driven my friends Duke atleast for 500kms and I dnt think duke is too good in accelerating at higher speeds (80 to 100), I felt ZMR was better performer than Duke here (personal experience ) and I expect from the previous reviews P200ns will beat both in this aspect (linear acceleration)

I know how much I researched to actually shift myself to Bajaj as I was true baja hater till P200ns was launched and after that .

May be my post might be OT but I think it would actually help some other propective buyers who share similar thoughts as me.

PS- booked Red but Fell in love with Yellow when I saw it nagpur few days back (going with yellow )

@Crashoverride2786 : Any modifications would cause warranty to void. Check with your dealer before replacing it.

I am getting my Pulsar 200 NS next week. Can you please tell me on installing stock replacement air filter(K&N or Green). I am sure many are planning to install them to make the bike Roar after run-in. Power gain is not at all a priority!

Could you please tell me any disadvantages. Any Ideas on which model should I install?

                        Thank You!

@All Owners and people who are planning to buy : Modifications in bike would void the warranty so please be careful while you do any mod. Also read owners manually when you get your bike.

Why you making a comparison here? according to you theres a difference of hell and heaven between the two. jk

One thing ,even duke isnt vibe free, they seem to share some common issues like vibes and false neutrals although NS gear shifts are smooth .first to neutral is never an issue.

Nah bro.. The difference between two, as per me, isnt that of heaven and hell. It is only that one is a heaven of one kind or universe and another is the heaven of another kind / another universe. . I am not trying to call one of the bikes superior to the other. I am just saying they are very different and serve different purposes altogether.

Vibrations is a characteristic that occurs in many a bike, not only Duke and NS. If the vibrations are troublesome, they must be reported and gotten fixed. As suggested by @Rohan too, it does seem that the display/test riding bikes in certain showrooms are having this problem and we are hoping that this problem will not be there in the other bikes and the problem isnt here to last for ever. What say?
