You can use OKS chain lube for your chain, its the same used on the duke. It is available at the bajaj ASC.

I guess its time to ride.. oops Write6. Issues that I have faced in these ~2700 kms
              1. Bike drifts to the left at low speeds, but this does not hinder my ride quality.
              2. Post 6k rpm the front small visor makes noise due to vibrations
              3. The neutral light fickers sometimes
              4. The gear box is very very smooth but i had false neutrals 2-3 times. Is that ok?
Firstly , a nice reveiw Suro and awesome place too ...i am in Pune too, let me know when u would be going for next ride, may be i can join in....

Secondly finally somebody agreeing to the issues which i reported long long back... vibes, false neutrals, pillion foot pegs vibes, drfiting towards left etc

So both of us decided to go and enquire at all local dealerships in chennai. On enquiring this is what we found.

Pirelli sport demon, 130/70-rear --- available.
Pirelli sport demon, 100/80-front--- not available.
Even i serached for them in Pune, it was costing around 3800/- rear and 2800/- front..... but what sugeestions i got from many people here was to go for R15 V2 rear tyre and FZ front..direct fits...

MG as suggested by you i took the bike to high rpm ranges in each gears and i found quite a lot of vibrations at higher rpms at rider seat, rider foot pegs, side of tank (the black panels just below the tank) ,i have only this vibrations issue currently in the bike, and one more issue noise is coming from the little fairing on top of headlight, rest is fine, have reported the same to Bajaj again, would be taking the bike for first servicing this saturday, would get this rectified that time...lets see...

Yes it makes some thank noise on rough roads ...

              • @faffy -- dude , the vibes which you have described are the exact same things which i experienced during my test ride .. people here thought that i am trying to degrade bajaj .. i think that the vibes are because of improperly fitted plastic parts .. check closely for panel gaps .. tell the people at svc to completely remove all the plastic parts and put it back again ...
@people here -- did you now get what i had described earlier ?

I shot a mail to bajaj day before yesterday and yesterday received 7 calls from the service centre starting from requesting and gradually culminating into begging to come over. Now coming to my query....

I had read in other forums that Motul chain lube and chain clean are good. I have searched through all the local dealers in my area but none of them stock motul chain spray.

Can someone recommend an alternate for cleaning and lubricating the chain of my NS. I have heard that Yamaha off road chain spray is good but its more sticky so it attracts more dirt
Yap an alternative of motul u can use is tvs chain lube. The cost is less than 400rs. And it is for O ring chain, also it is much much better than motul I have used motul but now I am putting tvs chain lube. Cheers

My humble 110cc/9bhp/Rs50k Twister reaches 110kmph. Since NS' figures are double that of Twister I expected a little more from NS. But not a deal breaker . I'm almost into it.
it is about how cleanly it gets to its top speed .. ns is limited to 136 ( bajaj official website claim ) ..

So is it ok for the bike to do so??
i have always been a RE hater .. my personal choice .. you would not complain about any other vibey bike after having ridden your RE so much ..

There has to a reasoning for this. What say??
i think some ns have left the assembly line with improper fitting plastic parts ...

@Shibadip : Suro is the biggest CHUPPA RUSTAM of us all. We can expect more surprises from him.

@Rahul : I will suggest you to wait for a month more as i heard Rahul Bajaj speak that they are planning a bigger launch in September / October. I wish it could be Duke 350 or Duke 690. Though he did reveal anything more about the september/october launch.

@Suro and others : I got my Centre Stand fitted today and they said the bike moving on the left is due to fork setting and they have rectified it in 10 bikes. So all of you guys can try that out. They said the company setting was hard and needed to be adjusted. They did setting on my bike but i did not try riding my bike without hands on it as it was raining here.

@Toxicbiker : Bro you claim to be just a junior member here but you are amongst the most mature out here.
thats an awesum news chintan bro... truely speaking i cant afford a duke as of now, dont actually want to ask my dad for a bike worth 1.3 lakhs.. Will buy it myself with my own money few years down the lane... Would love to have a faired pulsar though... Will wait till september then
@toxicbiker: bro count me in too along with shiba when you plan small rides

                          • Hi All,

I am Rohit from Bangalore. I have been following this thread for quite some time and i must say that there are some really good reviews of the bike in this forum.

I drive a Pulsar 150 cc dtsi 2004 model which has grown old now after doing 80,000 kms so finally decided to change the bike.

It is true that many of us who drive the Pulsars get attached to the bike and i am one of them.

I did a test drive of the bike at Khivraj Bajaj at Kasturba Road Bangalore and booked the bike immediately. Upon enquiring, the service personnel told me that more than 100 bikes have been booked already and has given a waiting period of 20 days

So now i am one of those who are going through the excruciating wait

But the plus point is that i get to spend some quality time with my old bike and would like to take it to Nandi Hills and other nearby places till the time i get my new bike

One more thing, i am really confused on which colour to choose... I currently drive a black bike and believe that black will never fade. But Yellow was truly eye catching!! My only concern is that the yellow colour may fade away after some time... What do you guys think?

                            Regards,
                            Rohit

I actually have the opposite view

On colors like Yellow & White, minor scratches are not that visible and are less prone to color fade.. compared to a color like black where small scratches are easily visbile.

                              • Mileage Figure

                                Hi friends,

Well, its a good news for me and I believe for all the owners and perspective owners. My NS first mileage figures. When I got the bike, the ODO showed 13.9 km of running. I got a tank full (Extra Premium) and then yesterday at 577 km of running, I got the tank full again.
                                So, Average = (577-13.9/11.38)= 49.48 km / ltr.

                                ODO Reading: 13.9 km
                                Amount : Rs 800
                                Distance Traveled : 563.1 km
                                Rate(Rs/L) : Rs 70.28
                                Petrol Type : Extra Premium
                                Litre of Petrol : 11.38
                                Average : 49

Now, it must be in your mind... that's awesome to speak about.
Right !! But, now the questions which would be arising, to answer them.

I have ridden 40-48 km/hr till 450 kms on the ODO. Got the first service and now running at 55 km /hr [Max Speeds] and occasionally touching 70 to 74 km/hr once or twice for few seconds as suggested by Payeng till the ODO reaches 2000 Km.
Its more of a mix with 60% highway riding and 40% city traffic [And its just not normal traffic, its all the jam which I face everyday].

So, I guess its a good number which I got in return.
