  • @tandroid, Its better if you put the Query in Tyres thread.
You will get more apt answers there.
IMO, Rear - Pirelli, and Front - Some other good brand will do just fine.

        • the full set would cost you 8.5k. that's the max price that you can get it for. then again, the problem with the front tyres is still there!

I don`t think the front Pirelli is an absolute necessity.. the rear I guess is.. so.. I guess a wise option would be stock front and Pirelli rear..!!

As he afterwards quoted, I too agree that - while testing a bike, it must be tested thoroughly at all RPM range and every thing must be checked.
But this testing must be done on TEST Bikes, and not any othr bike which might be delivered to another owner.
Not like to go OT here, so coming bback to your question,
1)- the limit during the 1st run-in period is 45kmph AFAI remember.
2)- If the Showroom guy did that on a test bike, then its OK, otherwise you can join our Complaint to Bajaj group. Just kidding
3)- Take another PROPER test ride on a PROPER test bike.
Hey Thanks buddy.... I am planning for another test drive tmrw... lets see...

and one more thing.... what would you say if I wanted an K&N air filter for this bike.... will it be neccessary/useful???

my test ride had hurt you so emotionally .. you had to check out how the sales reps unload the bikes here and take it inside workshops .. you would probably burst into tears after having a look at that...

true that.. but you are no service center mechanic na.. so we expected a heart of biker from you.. We all know that bikes are ill treated during the transport from warehouse to showroom (read it somewhere).. atleast you can treat a bike the way a true biker would.. I mean ripping during running in that too some one else`s bike is pure evil.. no personal offense bro.. but I hope you understand!

Getting straight to my query. I would be highly appreciative if any one of the moderators could answer this.

InshaAllah, i'm expecting the bike in a weekish period. I have test ridden the bike. I absolutely LOVED it. It was extremely different to see how a bajaj ka bike had such mind blowing brakes. Then again, my brother and I, both after the test drive felt one problem. The dreaded euro grip.

So both of us decided to go and enquire at all local dealerships in chennai. On enquiring this is what we found.

Pirelli sport demon, 130/70-rear --- available.
Pirelli sport demon, 100/80-front--- not available.

I tried talking to pirelli india but couldn't get a satisfactory response as there are no official dealers in chennai. Now my questions.

                      1. I'm ready to pay for pirelli. But it doesn't have a warranty. when i asked the dealer he said, "mrf aur pirellie key beech mey zameen aasmaan ka farakh hai". should i be bothered about it?

                      2.MOST IMPORTANT QUERY
For the front tyre, Pirelli has a 100/80 size as indicated by the website. but it isn't available in any dealer in chennai. They all claim to have 110/70/80 size tyres, READY for fitting. So, will the rear 130 and front 110 give me ANY PROBLEMS at all, in the event that i'm going for the 110 in the front? Also, 110/70 or 110/80?

                      3. If i'm not mistaken(not completely sure), there is a 100/80 available in chennai but its a 'continental' tyre. Rear Pirelli, Front some other brand. Is it the start of a big mistake i'm going to commit?

I want to go for my pirelli pair. Upgrading from my long standing love, the 1999 Kinetic Honda,(mom's actually) i'd like my bike to be OMG.
So will the 110 front cause any problems?

I'm sorry if this was to be posted on a thread about tyres but I REALLY NEED AN ANSWER ASAP before i get my bike delivered. Hope the mods understand the urgency.

A reply asap would be MUCH appreciated.

                      Thanks!
                      Dear Tandroid,

I have had a rear Pirelli on Yamaha Fz16 and trust me warranty should be the least of your problems.
I got it from Whites Road near Sathyam.

I still had the company tyre in front and it was all good as the rear was my primary concern

Im not sure about the front 110 but if i could suggest then rather let the front tyre be..

Hope this helps a part of your query..

Congratz with your NS and Happy Riding!

                      - Abdul

I guess its time to ride.. oops Write a detailed ownership review of MY 200 NS. (its important that you note that I have ridden my bike and am going to write the ownership experience of that only, other bikes may have other issues or might not have the issue that I have)

Also note: Whatever I am writing here is not after reading some forum but from my Experiences.

                        Date of Purchase - 13.06.2012
Date of DeliveryTotal kilometresNo. of days my bike was in Service centre5. Mileage: 35-38kmpl P.S. I use normal petrol, speed k liyea paise nahi hai.. :P

                        6. Issues that I have faced in these ~2700 kms
                        1. Bike drifts to the left at low speeds, but this does not hinder my ride quality.
                        2. Post 6k rpm the front small visor makes noise due to vibrations
                        3. The neutral light fickers sometimes
                        4. The gear box is very very smooth but i had false neutrals 2-3 times. Is that ok?
                        5. Even after having the rear tyre hugger, the bike throws dirt on you (only when riding at high speeeds)
                        6. There is a constant noise that is coming from the front of the bike. This issue is not sorted yet.

                        HEAT ISSUES ??7. After Sales-Service- 2.5/5

The service centre guys surely needs to know more about the bike, my bike has been in the service centre for a total of 5 days (excluding the 1st service day) in the last one month. They svc guys claimed to have rectified issue 2 and 6 last week after keeping my bike for 3 days, but after 10 kms things were back to normal. Now again my bike is with them.
I did not have any performance based issues with my bike.
Am I happy with the quality of after sales service? NO
Did you say you do not now how to write? I would say you had penned down your experience in a crisp, to the point and unbiased manner with very few words.
I would give it 5/5. Please do keep updating us. And also a request to please pass the feedback to bajaj guys so that they recitfy the issues at the earliest.

how can anybody be so sure that the test ride bike will be delivered ? ? it is just a probability... i just utilised the purpose of having a test ride thoroughly ... even when i took cbr250 for a test ride , i was instructed by the sales rep that i need to go beyond 6000rpm to feel the proper power build up ..he even told me to jam the brakes at 60kmph to test the abs ...he came along with me during test ride and didnt seem to be bothered even at scary speeds ... they are actually expecting people to test the bike to its limits when its especially a sports bike ...

@surojit -- excellent review .... just had one doubt ... my fz used to throw up mud on my back during rains ,, so does ns do the same or is it just splashing mud on your legs ?

Bro, @govind.one has very aptly answered on my behalf.
Just to make my point clear- I have seen Sales Representatives, Factory mechanics handle bikes like Garbage. So if u properly see my post which was directed to @chintan, I have mentioned the "evilness"(as per govind.one) both on the part of dealer/factory people, and on the part of test rider's, which needs to be curbed out.
Have nothing personal against u for this particular issue.

I think that the rear hugger provided will do the job pretty neatly, though its not so good to look at . It looks like the splashing mud problem will be taken care of.
