That someone would be meOriginally posted by chintan99 View Post@annydhanya : Spoke to bajaj guys in morning and reported Rohans issue to them. He said they have already given instructions to 600 dealers not to give test rides on bikes meant for customers. As someone suggested here i told them to put some kind of safety seal on the speedo which they said would surely consider as an option.
and i do swear by God, the Idea was purely mine, and NOT overheard/stolen from any1 else.
So @ BAJAJ AUTO LETS DISCUSS ABOUT PATENT RIGHTS

Well Dimpy pal, I simply love your avatar in this forum (Super Commando Dhruv... it was eons since I last saw that pic!!). All the more, you coming from an RE ownership and since this would be your (if you end up buying it
) first Bajaj motorcycle, I personally would be very interested in reading your views. Please do share as such a view gives a different perspective to the product.
Well.. can't tell you how much i am eager to buy a bike.. but.. i am kind of person who usually falls in love with bike.. I have gone alone on very peaceful places.. sat there alone for hours only with my bike.. and listen to my fav. tracks.... that ends up builing a relation ship with the bike.. the reason I am not buying a bike in hurry is coz.. i m going to keep it *atleast* for 6-7 years.. so I don't want to make a wrong decision.. and.. same eagerness i have to put a review about the bike.. ..
And yes.. "Nagraj" is another option.. here is some guy.. @Doga .. he also has a nice one.. but its just that I didn't want to copy that one.If you have never done a mistake in your life, it means you have never tried anything new.

BTW Duke's thread is down..sent mails to admin..All links opening except that of Duke. Can anyone confirm?
BTW can any Duke owner tell me,hows the pillion seat?I mean can typical Indian female wearing Saree take the occasional ride? And the bike explodes due to engine heat and leaking petrol? TD
My Dealer had called yesterday. He said that if I want Black color then he can give me the bike on Monday itself but since I want Red, I'll have to wait for another week

I went there and asked for a TD the guy gave me a Blue one, started it for me and started revving it hard (standstill)
. Then he said don't worry sir, its only for TD, I have attached photos of what might be the VIN.
This is not my first bike so I unconsciously started comparing 200Ns with my Fiero (I know its Apples and Oranges but couldn't help noticing the differences). A few points I noted:
First the Negatives:
1. It is not as vibe free as my fiero, having said that in comparison to my Yezdi Roadking its vibe free
Its negligible at the handle but feels on the seat.
2. The bike sounds a lot more than my Fiero. - Expected
3. The rear foot-pegs are flimsy. If anyone's vehicle were to unintentionally graze by the foot-pegs in a parking lot (which happens a lot in B'lore) then I would say it will get bent or might even break.
4. The saree guard does not have place for people sitting one-sided. Where will they keep their other leg?
I know its a sports oriented bike and everything but then why give saree guard at all??
An occasional sis/mom/relative (wearing saree) is bound to happen.... Option: Not sell my Fiero?
5. Turning radius is sooo big. Its probably twice the turning radius as my Fiero, I felt like I was turning a Lorry.
6. They should've provided it with an optional ABS, its way linear than my friends Pulsar 180 but I still felt it should have been there with both wheels as disk-brakes n all. I know about the investment n money n everything but hey i'm just a consumer who's wishing them
Now, the above minor points are just In My Opinion. I'm still desperately waiting for my RED 200NS (cash payment done) and all the above mentioned points are going to iron out over time.
Second: I don't need to talk about the positives, they are all over this thread and they are all true.
After the TD I saw a guy driving a new rtr180, I kinda started laughing out aloud making him think I was mad. Wait till he sees my beast
p.s: can anyone decipher the VIN for me, if i have taken the right photo..

Mate, that's the spirit, thanks a lot for considering my suggestion as I'm sure taking note of the VIN numbers of the test rides and posting them here will ensure that upcoming buyers don't get those bikes as their own.Originally posted by sandysend View PostMy Dealer had called yesterday. In this case the most helpful one is the one engraved in the chassis as it is not modifiable while the other one which seemed to be a sticker can be easily changed.

Called my dealer now... first lot is arriving this Saturday.. deliveries from Monday.
Bad part is, she said there is no Blue color..

If you want to get earlier, go with either red or Yellow... (a big no to black... personal.. no offence to anyone)
So my mind is kinda....... you know...
Going with Yellow now.
She doesn't know when next lot will arrive..
So what ya thinking guys? What will be average time between first and second lots?
Wait for next batch or go with Yellow?sigpicUSED IN PAST: Ct100, Victor, Xcd 135For a true motorcyclist, the straight portions of the roads exist just to take him from one turn to the next!

Thanks bro. Hope all who take td can capture the unique vins so that no one will receive a used bike.Originally posted by sandysend View PostMy Dealer had called yesterday. Proper mention of the negatives along with valid reasons. NOTHING EXAGGERATING

PS - I think I sound like an examiner, suggesting the answering pattern

I wish my role reverses in real world as well.

TD vehicle no. KA-xx TC-171@sandy, thnks a lot for the VIN pictures. Now I know where to look for the VIN, when I get my hands on the beast!!Originally posted by leodj29 View PostIn this case the most helpful one is the one engraved in the chassis as it is not modifiable while the other one which seemed to be a sticker can be easily changed.
However, in Cars, its generally of 17 digits. But given here in the 2nd PIC are only 15 digits, and that too the last digit is $ which is kinda odd..
Senior guys please throw some light.
@JK, if Blue is the colour for u, then stick to it, coz u have to stay along with ur bike for years. A rushed decision now can bring sorrows later.
Go back, think quietly, if you can live with yellow, and then decide

Its doesn't matter the color... but I've told everybody, my friends, family etc... that I've going with Blue.Originally posted by Shibadip View Post@JK, if Blue is the colour for u, then stick to it, coz u have to stay along with ur bike for years. A rushed decision now can bring sorrows later.

I like yellow... its an eye catcher... especially in my college.. when classes are over, guys zooming in bikes.... crowded... imagine Yellow in that situation..

treat for eyes...
Going to showroom now..will talk to them.sigpicUSED IN PAST: Ct100, Victor, Xcd 135For a true motorcyclist, the straight portions of the roads exist just to take him from one turn to the next!

My previous insurer was Bajaj Allianz, my dealer is giving Tata AIG or United Insurance. I think it would be prudent to go with what the dealer is giving instead of going through hassles.Once it is done you need to submit a request for no claim bonus certificate with xerox copy of your updated RC book. Insurance company will issue NO CLIAM BONUS certificate with % of no claim discount. You then need to submit it to the insurance company who will insure your P200NS and you will get discount of 20% on your new premium.
Cheers Bro.
I have booked from Kalyani Bajaj, Mekhri Circle. Been for a Test ride yesterday, the deliveries will commence on the last week of this month or first week of august. Will make the payment over this weekend and wait.ANY one here booked from kalyani bajaj here in bangalore..
any news from them.
