90% of their bikes turn into garbage within 3-4 years...

now anti Bajaj guy in me is being brought out, this is actually harmful for myself as I am also going be a bajaj customer in less than a month
what so ever this would be my last post on this Bajaj capability topic.....
So you are an anti Bajaj so yours comments are obviously biassed. I dont care which country Bata belongs to. Bikes are my interest not shoes. People even ride the classic pulsar now. I have ridden the Caliber for 11 years and then sold it to someone who is happy with the purchase still. so what they used KTMs technology. They owned the company and have all damn rights to use it.
And FYI Mr. Rajiv Bajaj is also in the top supervisory board of directors of KTM company (top 4) so he has all rights to do so. And they already did alot of research by also jointly developing both Duke and 200NS. And Bajaj had developed the Perimeter frame (a proven tech) which is employed in superbikes (non KTM). Can u expect Hero/TVS to do so? Please dont spoil this thread. PM for the replies.

    • I would go even one step further to say if it is not for BAJAJ...we would still have been riding HONDA CD70...have a look at the below pakistani bike forum

indian bikes vs pakistani bikes "pakistanis are pleading for Indian manufaturers to come to pakistan"

HONDA and Yamaha are the top selling bike company in pakistan and still they are riding those old fashion cd100 bikes...WHY?

Its ony across the border(INDIA) that honda is seling Unicorn....thats because of competion...they know they cant fool indian people by selling cd70 bikes moreover BAJAJ is pushing other manufacturers to give its people VFM bikes....

Its only for our INDIAN manufacturers that we are able to get cheap and quality technology....

      Cheers BAJAJ

oh btw , made full payment towards duke today .. finished PDI and chose my duke among many others .. delivery on monday ..
Typical Indian mentality of "More cc = more power" and the Indian attraction to fairings! I hope he'll be as confident when he realises what the NS is capable of!

Btw, congrats on the Duke man! Was gonna buy the Duke too, but I had a lot of issues with finance getting rejected and shit. The HDFC finance guy while explaining why my loan was denied suddenly said "why not go for the NS"? Thats when I realised that I'd completely ignored this bike! It had just reached Khivraj the previous day and was upstairs under covers.

As soon as I sat on the NS I realised that I'd enjoy this bike even more than the Duke! That's only because of the NS being much more comfortable and with a bigger fuel tank as well. The test-ride sealed the deal and I ended up paying the full amount. This is fate I guess.. I'd have bee non the Duke by now otherwise.

Congrats once again, and I hope you enjoy many miles of biking pleasure with the regal KTM Duke! \m/

Cmon guys, let's not do this on this thread. it's an Ownership Thread, not a Bajaj Jai Ho Thread.. Please don't flame me Enthusiastic saar.. I was extremely anti-Bajaj until I saw and felt the NS. They've definitely grown by leaps and bounds. My friend's are gonna be so surprised when I turn up on my NS! Especially since I've never missed an opportunity to curse their P150, 180 and 220s whenever they have issues with the bikes..

        • @neo.akshay, well said Neo. To say the truth I was not a big Bajaj fan before the mighty NS came out although the 220DTSFi fun is unforgettable for me too. Between, what color is your NS? Have not seen any NS on the roads in Bangalore. I live @AECS layout.

Yes, We can't expect it as Bajaj can't be expected to deliver quality as hero/tvs. No company can provide best of both world. Even I adore the Pulsar 200NS and might like its newer siblings in future. Good job bajaj, but have to wait for 1-2 year to get idea of reliability and if its good, maybe it'll be my 2nd bike.

I don't think any NS have been delivered in Bangalore yet. I expect all deliveries to begin on Monday. I've left my color option open, told the sales lady to give me whichever color I can get earliest. I like them all, and the bike is the same anyway, irrespective of the color.

My urgency to get the bike is because I'm going to be attempting the SaddleSore 1600 and will also be trying to break a Limca Book of Records record for endurance riding. I need the bike this coming week so I can complete atleast 2-3000km on ODO by August first week. That's when I plan to ride out on this attempt. I dont think it'll be a problem coz I managed to finish the run-in on my R15 in 3 days..

+1 for you.. but cannot comment on the reliability or the quality yet.. but one thing.. they have improved.. definitely ..

                  • @ Govind. One, what is the Full amount Kln is asking from you ?

When i went to the Jai Bajaj, Adyar to pay the full amount, the lady there Wrote down the full amount as 95021 and i paid the full amount, went for a test ride and came back. Only for the same lay to call me after 3 hours and say " I have wrongly Quoted P220 price for you, you need to pay extra 4000(Which includes flag day donation and Affidavit charges).
I thought i got a cheeky 3000 discount.... Very bad ...Now I will go back and pay the extra 4000.
Saw the Yellow color in flesh, like everyone else here said it looks a bit darker than in photos, more turmeric yellow than white yellow but i liked the color anyways.

                    Regarding the test ride.
The bike was so good to ride, the feeling was superb. Some times i need to check whether the bike was really running or not.Did not have the chance to check the LCd / meters, it was not working. But i did not even cross two lanes, i started to have problems in slow speeds. Bike stopped when moving from First to second like 4 times. i asked the SVC guy sitting behind me and he laughingly said " Sorry sir, petrol was already over when we took the bike ". I gave him the bike and Helmet and went home directly from that place...

                    Test Ride Inferences
                    1. Horn -> This was the first thing to test, for me i think this is quite sufficient, people did notice the Horn and moved away. Do not know in Highways how it will be. The horn was better than the Unicorn in which i rode to the showroom( Colleague's).

                    2. Indicator: God did I have trouble reaching those, may be my thumb is short.. I do not know, i tried to put indicator many times and succeed only twice. I hope with enough practice it will be easy.

                    3. Height and Weight: ( I might be 5.7 or 5.8)
I was able to balance the bike easily with both legs maximum comfort.

I could not notice many things since it was a short ride, but overall am extremely happy.

For me, they removed the Helmet and extra fittings cost and added Affidavit + Flag day donation costs..
Since this is the first ever bike am buying, i absolutely have no idea whether they are looting me or not. Just hoping everything goes well.

Even I went to book a 220F at PBK on 24th Jan2012, but could'nt do so due to some problem. back home, I got the news that the next-gen pulsar will be released on 29th. SO i waited to see what Bajaj comes up with.
Fate as it seems has written the NS for me. Although was bit apprehensive because of the naked look(yes, i'm a BIG TIME fairing lover), but with each day the design of NS kinda grew on me. and of course I was blown off by the specs from the 1st day itself.
Only problem I'm facing is "The wait still continues"
