Afaik its not a fault of carb tuning because i tried all possiable combination.. It something else.Originally posted by Mr Blackcat View PostReally Unpredictable...

One more thing i like to mention.. If you ride on short distance then avge reduce drastically on long run it give better avge. My classic350 used to give 40kmpl and while i am touring its gives 35-37kmpl .. And NS is totaly opposite ..
A friend of mine always used to get 30kmpl on NS

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
@denverrodricks
I've comfortably maintained 151 km/h while ducking - Highest was 153 km/h for a few seconds if that counts - Highest speedo number seen in our Naked Wolves group on a recent trip is 156 km/h.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys, if my valves are leaking and I go to the service center and my bikes on warranty, will they overhaul my head under warranty? And secondly the bajaj valves are very poor quality, will they allow me to change the brand of valves. Most bikes, not only bajaj have leaky valves cause of the high rpm and small valve seats. But some brands of valves have really good quality valve faces. You'll have it to even if you keep it under 7000rpm.
And I also want to change my piston to the ktm piston if the gudgeon pin is the same. Any idea guys wether I can get this done under warranty. I know il have to buy my own valves and piston.

But its very difficult to maintain as even minor scratches are visible more than other colors.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
What are the GPS speeds of 200NS in comparison with speedometer?
At 100kmph speedometer I get 90kmph GPS
This variation increases with more speed. At 135kmph speedometer I got 118/119 GPS speed.
Also for a distance of 300kms the Odometer showed 317kms..
Any one observed this? or is there any problem with the NS I tested?

Minor scratches are like battle scars on a warrior's body.
Without the scratches, it feels we havn'r ridden our bikes!!!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Speedo errors are quite common.
On my way back from punjab once, i raced a skoda superb.
It showed 155 kmph on speedo. My head and body were totally stuck to the tank!
But we all know top speed isnt 155. Its lesser.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Keep ur idle speed slightly low. This happnes in the ns because the air filter is facing forward and air is forced into the engine through the throttle butterfly. I too donot like keeping my idle speed too low but I have to set it around 1300 at hot so when you leave the throttle and declutch at high speed it will remain at 1500.Originally posted by nirav_j View PostHi guys,
My friend recently got his first service done on his 200 NS. Post that, he is having an issue with the idling... after riding the bike for say 15 - 20 KMs, the engine idle sometimes hits 3000 rpm ..
Yesterday he saw 2500 rpm..
Went to ASS, sai service bvi, and told the mechanic who had serviced it about the issue. He claimed that its perfectly normal and that when the bike heats up, the idle RPM will shoot up to 2.5-3k rpm. also said that almost ALL 200 NS have their idle rpm going to these levels when the bike heats up.
Dissatisfied with his reply I spoke to the manager and he too gave me the same stuff ! Said dont worry, its fine and normal. Attributed the hike in idle rpm post "heating up" to the "4 valves" ..

I was still unconvinced, so he asked he mech to recheck the CO settings and re tune the carb ...
since we were in a hurry to get back home, couldnt test if the rpm was shooting up again ....
Thought of posting it here. Has anyone else faced such an issue ? and if yes how to fix it ?
Bajajs chart in the SVC stated 1400 +/- 50 for the 200NS. I think a variation of 100 to 200 rpm is still ok, but def not 1000 RPM !

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Lean doesnt always mean good average. Theres a limit that you can lean your mixture to otherwise the bike will be going at a slower speed with respect to throttle opening. Your mixture should be optimum at all speeds and load to get good average. A slightly leaner mixture will do which the company has already done.Originally posted by nadz11.ns View PostIf the mixture is lean, the mileage tends to increase and not decrease.
Lean= less fuel and more air
Rich= more fuel and less air.
