I did not take any claim on my previous bike for the past 10years so NO CLAIM DISCOUNT was 50%. While buying P200NS i got NO CLAIM CERTIFICATE from my INSURANCE COMPANY stating in the past 10years I have not made any claims and i am eligible for NO CLAIM BONUS of 50% which i claimed for my new bike.

Following are the norms for claiming NO CLAIM DISCOUNT :

      1) You need to sell the old bike or get it transfered to other persons name and it should be reflected in the RC Book.

      2) NEW bike which you buy should be in the same name as you old bike.

      3) You need to buy a new bike within 6months from the date of NO CLAIM CERTIFICATE.

The same discount is also available for cars.
That is great... Is it necessary to have 10 years of No Claim? I guess I have 5 years. Is that sufficient?

        any clarification/suggestions?

one point I need clarification is 200ns is better handler than duke. did you find duke to be lacking in any deppt like hard suspension or seat?

cause when I test rode it, it was confidence inspiring at all speeds. again it was a short ride but made a lasting impression. I also did not found it lacking as tires were grippy, suspension was rock solid, was very light and flickable.
Yes the 200NS is a better handler than the 200 Duke.

The 200 Duke is not a bad handler, but the 200NS takes it to the next level. The 200 Duke has a slight tendency to oversteer, the 200NS is more neutral in comparison.

Seat material: The seat of the 200 Duke is quite hard when compared to the seat of the 200NS.
Ride Quality: The suspension on the 200NS is slightly more firm than the 200 Duke.

But the drifting is very very negligible, hence you wouldn't even notice it and most of the times you will try to counter balance it unconsciously.
It doesnt hinder the ride quality in any way whatsoever. You feel it only when you are riding at 30-40 kmph without pillion.
Having a pillion also changes the dynamics and makes the bike move in straight line... i dont know how that happens, but I have observed it.

              thanks mate..

The yellow of Karizma and P200NS are different, so atleast you wont have identical colored bikes...

              Some more issues/niggles/problems/whatever-u-may-call:

This issues might be very very subjective and i know they can be sorted out by a the co-operation of the svc guys.

              1. There are two weird noises coming form the front part of the bike
              a. One due to some resonance created by the handle lock due to its proximity to the chassis as told to me by some friend of mine
              b. Other one is from the small black part of the fairing, which I suppose is not fitted properly

              2. The rear disc brakes makes some noise (in my friends 200NS) which is due to the piston again as told to me by some friend of mine

Mine does and I have tested it on some other bikes also but its not a big issue

I dont know if its the tyre or my bad luck...
Yesterday had a punture in the rear tyre, and the cut was so bad that it couldnt get fixed, and the punture guys suggested me to get it patched from inside and put a TUBE in it.
Today morning checked it again, it seemed ok, but now I am not very confident on the tyres.
If this happens in on of my rides then what do I do?

me too having the fairing noise, it occurs mostl= significantly in the secong gear

Hmm. I understand that. Maybe it comes to personal preference then, if you like neutral or aggressive handling. But neutral is safer especially on city roads. In case of duke cause of aggressive power delivery and aggressive handling means it may be too late if someone is crossing road while you are cornering. Plenty of times on my r15 I experience that, and its too easy on it, to simply straighten her and apply brakes. But duke is still amazing handler and personally would not rate it below r15. Just different.

I am not yet planning to change the tyre... It just 12 days/ 1300 kms old... I am trying to get it fixed.. lets see what happens..

I guess the fitting needs to be checked but the mechanic doesnt seem to believe it..

                  • I think 5years is enough as every year you get 10% no claim discount. If you have completed 4 years it should be 40%.

                        • Stumbled upon a forum where they mention that there is some vibration in the bike like the RTR? any truth in this claim? I have already booked , having second thoughts and slightly inclined towards 220 as it a proven bike

                          Pls suggest
Past : Pulsar 220 DTSi (Pune)
                          Current : Kawasaki Bajaj Caliber 115 (B'lore)
                          Future : Bajaj Pulsar 200NS (B'lore)

                          • I don't experience vibration in the bike. Can not comment with reference to RTR since I have not tried RTR.

If you are confused that take a test drive and decide it yourself.

There can be vibrations because of loose bolts etc. These are small issues which you can easily rectify. Infact some members reported vibrations in KTM which I never experienced in nearly 4 months. So take a TD of both RTR & P200 & check for yourself

Could you please share this link with all of us because I would love to have a generous laugh at that website. Seriously.

Because, for a fact, RTRs have the highest vibrations on any bike I have ever ridden in my life. We use it like a benchmark for high vibration.

As compared, 200NS is the bike which had the least vibration among those I have ever ridden in my entire life.

In short, the observation of the website you read the review from couldn't have been more further from the truth. Pulsar 220 is not even in the same zip-code w.r.t. vibrations as compared to the 200NS such is the lack of vibes in that bike.
