i guess we should shoot a mail to bajaj stating that please inform all the ASCs about this and if you can contact each of your customer and ask him to come to a nearest ASC to get the issue rectified....much like how companies call back vehicles to repair a deffectPulsar 200NS parts list

Hey guys!
Took my bike for its first service today @712Km on the ODO.
Everything that I had requested them to do was done as per my satisfaction.
But there is this one thing that I noted on the Invoice that I received under the 'Parts Details' table is something as follows;
Sno. / Line-PartNo. / Description / Disc% / Tax / Qty / Price / Value
1. / 04-213*5ml / IFTEX SYSTEM / 0.000 / 01 / 1.000 / 13.33 / 13.33
Could someone please tell me what it is?

I am pretty sure this is the additive they add along with engine oil. See the below link:Originally posted by rossyamaha46 View PostHey guys!

IFTEX OIL & CHEMICALS LTD.
Experts, please let us know if this is required as I have read these type of enhancers cause more damage than help.
EDIT: Just saw they also do coolants so someone with experience can comment on this?sigpic

I went to ASC today to tell them about vibrations in console, to get the screws tightened. He told me to bear with it for a while because Bajaj has announced they'll be dispatching rubber beading for tank and console to reduce vibration. I came here to report that but someone else already did it it seems..
Also he said they are organizing training sessions for NS owners. Do enquire about it guys. Might be worth it

We knew about the bushes for console and tank (actually I thought it was only for the tank) but what kind of training is this? Riding tips? maintenance tips?Originally posted by Anand Surendran View PostI went to ASC today to tell them about vibrations in console, to get the screws tightened. I'm not sure. He said he'll call me and say the details. Riding probably. Cuz the only maintenance they say we can (should?) do on our own is chain cleaning and lubrication.Originally posted by vivek.m View PostWe knew about the bushes for console and tank (actually I thought it was only for the tank) but what kind of training is this? Aw snap! I changed to castrol power1 4T 10w50 fully synthetic before I could read this post. I thought 10w50 would do because the 'more important' number over there is the 50. 10 (which is a lower number) aids in cold starts I heard. Correct me if I'm wrong.Originally posted by Pinaki View PostUnlikely , or you'd have heard about it
- this kind of engine damage manifests as abnormal increase in engine noise & vibrations . But a good decision nevertheless . If I may offer my humble advice - run her on ordinary 15w50/20w50 mineral oil , and spend the money thus saved on quick oil changes (every 2000kms or 4 mnths max) . You can experiment with various oils available to you in this grade to find the one you like . Think about the more expensive oils past 10-15k kms as and when you feel real need . Your current riding pattern does not warrant synthetic oils .
Anyway, since the running in of my bike is done long back, I wouldn't want any more wearing off of the engine parts. Another proof for the supposedly perfect break in is that the last time I changed the engine oil, the mechanic said 'you could have used this oil another 1000 kms!', which meant no fumes were escaping past the piston rings and spoiling the oil. The level of oil as I saw hadn't changed even after a long duration, which, I presume is because neither does the oil escape into the combustion chamber, nor is it leaking off. So I felt fully synthetic was a good choice. This post is open to corrections.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Solo Ride to Lepakshi
Guys i went for a casual solo ride to lepakshi saturday morning at 5:45am reached lepakshi by 7:40am
- 138kms. Came back home by 11:10am..
Round Trip distance : 277.1kms
Roads : Awesome, you can do 110-120 all the way for the first 100kms.. last 18 kms have some patchy roads(photo attached).
While returning i did 50 kms in 27 minutes , now you can understand how smooth the roads are
Place : There is not much to do there, the bull is really huge, biggest monolithic Nandi in India, 6mtrs high and 8 mtrs long. Nandi is kept in a park surrounded by flowers, grass; i saw 2-3 types of birds there.. A nice place for photographers..
One famous temple is a must visit Virabhadra Swamy Temple. The pandit ji there saw me fully geared and asked me if i had come from bangalore. I said yes. He smiled. He was bathing the idol, asked me to wait till snan is over, gave me blessings , passed aarti and prasad. This place is a heaven for photographers , if u want to click old indian temple architecture..
Funny Incident : On my return journey a guy on CBR150R was next to me in a signal ,started making the vroom vroom sound and looked towards me, i opened my helmet visor and said : Not interested !!
THE DUDE : Why you are not interested?? Afraid of CBR ?? :P
Signal green : 3 gears redlined.. i could see him in the RVM struggling.. Next signal he again pulled up next to me , i opened my visor and said : that's why i was not interested , i don't consider CBR150R a competitor. And closed my lid..

Some pics from the trip :
P.S. : Did one more small tour to Yellagiri hills(370kms round trip) on sunday. Pics and small description soon.
My ODO stand at 6616 kms , and I am in love with this machine more than ever.

Sounds so much fun!
I wish I had someone to tour with here in Ernakulam.
By the way I have a small issue. Maybe it's not an issue at all. The thing is, I hear a small ticking noise coming from inside the bike when I keep it in neutral and roll it. The sound gets more frequent when I roll faster. The only possible explanation is the chain right? Is this normal?

What's done is done , but next time specifically instruct them to change oil in your presence only , and do not let them put any other stuff in the oil or fuel at all . i) it is not necessary ii) it shall harm your bike's motor in the long run .Originally posted by rossyamaha46 View PostHey guys!

. If any additive is needed in the oil , Bajaj would have already put that in the oil they supply for their bikes .

As your valuable review i have changed my engine oil to motul 3000 15w 50 the gear shift are smoother less vibration .... the mileage is the main issue its still gives only 33kmpl after two times filling the the tank the mileage returns 332kms at the time of reserve maintaining speed of 50 to 64kmhr @ 4 to 5 rpm only city riding .
I'm planning to change the tyres to 120/70 of mrf on rear please get me the right choice in tyres i'm feeling nerves in high speed b'coz of the tyre skid

How much has your bike run yet ?
In city riding , fuel mileage can be as less as that (and not much that you can do about it) , given that we have to use so much clutch-brake-gear shift and ride at low rpms and crawl traffic in a stop-go-stop-go manner .
Keep your tyre inflated to correct pressure weekly and chain lubricated and correctly slacked (around 25mm at the middle of the bottom run) . Avoid sudden accelerations and reduce brake usage , try to anticipate bends, corners and traffic slowdowns beforehand and reduce speed by cutting throttle gradually before you reach it . Ride in economy speeds ( 40-60 kmph) . Park bike in shade when possible and close the fuel-petcock when not riding . Be regular at a petrol bunk which has good reputation for quality and quantity of fuel . Use correct grade of engine oil and replace timely . keep oil filter clean or replace if it is of that type , everytime you change oil . Keep spark plugs(correctly gapped) & air-filter clean . Clean and tune carb correctly at the ASC . Check that throttle, brake and clutch is correctly adjusted and has some free-play and cables are lubed and working freely . The wheel spins freely without noise or resistance while bike is on main-stand ( if you have it ) . Be careful NOT to ride on clutch lever or brake foot pedal .
As far as tyres are concerned , I have no idea what rides well on this bike in particular . Other users can tell you that . Usually changing to a better quality tyre of the same size as standard ( and maintaining correct pressure always) would provide enough traction .Last edited by Pinaki; 11-20-2012, 02:13 AM.
