The engine has already run on this oil for 2000 kms. Well yeah I don't redline the bike. I prefer the calmer 4-5k rpms. Besides I usually ride 4 kms to college in the morning and back in the afternoon so the bike doesn't really get a fair chance to heat up. But since the past 3 days, I've been doing 70 kms at a stretch per day and yesterday I did a good 140 kms on a hot day with a heavy pillion on the new oil of the same grade. I just hope the extreme heat hasn't taken it's toll.Originally posted by Pinaki View PostSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Seriously mate, Idiots like em still exist... Hopeless entities man..Originally posted by surampudijagadeesh View PostHad a very exciting day. I was returning home in the evening, a guy in a bolero wanted to race with me(I was on the highway), I politely declined, the guy started sounding horn annoyingly behind me and intimidating me, I tried to flee, but he wouldn't give up, so I thought why not give him the scare of his life, so, I went fast and took a detour into a single road(which I sometimes ride in when I am in the mood for offroading), the road looks fine for some good 10 km, and then comes the fun part. This guy was so stupid, he was even following me on this road. I saw some tractors some distance, did a little offroading and overtook them, and this guy was stuck behind the tractor for about 20 min and only 3 km(how frustrating it must have been for him), then he charged again, and there is this very uncomfortable corner which I loved, I went in fast at about 80, quickly applied the brakes dropped to 35 and took the corner, exited and the road was beautiful, but for the fool, the corner was too tight and he fell in to the canal by the side of a field. I stopped went back to help, but the guy was calling me names, I showed him the finger and went away. He will have to wait a long time to anyone to show up, since no phone signals either
BTW, Gud Run.. M sure they learned their lesson the hard way.. :PRide Fair, Ride Hard...

Go through the manual. It has listed all the things that is needed to be done. Make sure it's all done properly. Other than that, if ur facing any uncertain issues on ur ride, list them out & make sure it's all covered during the service.Originally posted by Nemo_Som View PostGuys Need help !! Unless the problem is affecting your ride quality much , ride on until about 2k kms on odo ... when the engines smoothens out quite a bit . Then if the problem persists ask the ASC to give it a thorough check-up . There is no danger to the engine if it is running well when warm . Better to run rich now than lean .Originally posted by Anand Surendran View PostI got your point. But the thing is, first service is over. Odo is at 807kms. So you are sayin I just have to make it leaner?
Unlikely , or you'd have heard about itOriginally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostThanks guys! Will do that first thing tomorrow morning!.. .... I just hope the extreme heat hasn't taken it's toll.
- this kind of engine damage manifests as abnormal increase in engine noise & vibrations . But a good decision nevertheless . If I may offer my humble advice - run her on ordinary 15w50/20w50 mineral oil , and spend the money thus saved on quick oil changes (every 2000kms or 4 mnths max) . You can experiment with various oils available to you in this grade to find the one you like . Think about the more expensive oils past 10-15k kms as and when you feel real need . Your current riding pattern does not warrant synthetic oils .

As your valuable review i have changed my engine oil to motul 3000 15w 50 the gear shift are smoother less vibration .... the mileage is the main issue its still gives only 33kmpl after two times filling the the tank the mileage returns 332kms at the time of reserve maintaining speed of 50 to 64kmhr @ 4 to 5 rpm only city riding .
I'm planning to change the tyres to 120/70 of mrf on rear please get me the right choice in tyres i'm feeling nerves in high speed b'coz of the tyre skidLast edited by jenimu_kanna007; 11-19-2012, 01:10 AM.

ns is essentially ls for me with bigger heart, better chassis, better engine and latest gadgetory.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Postcongrats
since u have graduated from LS i want to know what difference do u feel and what similarities..i was supposed to by the LS but then thought why not ST but ended up with the NS
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

Do let me know if you are successful in modding the LED colour of the console. Also, if you know, do let me know the price of the new console (just in case it goes kaput after voiding the warranty)Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Postwell some other mod... Hi People,
Another update from me with Nox! I did a little trip to Mussoorie last weekend to visit my little sister in boarding school. Left early Saturday morning (4:45am) and arrived back in Delhi at precisely 12 noon on Monday. It was a 310km journey one way...completed around 800km during that weekend!! I rode alone, just me, my bike and a backpack
Took the direct route to Mussoorie: Meerut bypass, through Roorkie, Dehradun and up to the mountain to Mussoorie. By the way, that was my FIRST ever roadtrip on a bike! I know its not much compared to many of you tourers, but it was a great way to kick it off!
So, lets get started:
Before heading out, Nox had 2600km on the odometer and since I decided to ride to Mussoorie as a last minute decision instead of driving, I had not got the bike checked for any issues, no oil checks, air checks, loose panel checks (I know, big risks to take, especially since I know the route and the few horrible patches that do crop up!) BUT, I prayed, crossed my fingers and set out.
1. I tanked up at the nearest pump near my place in South Delhi, it took in 6.5 liters and was full to the brim. I then took the route via Ghaziabad. Once you get to the Meerut bypass, it is a smooth, uninterrupted ride for 80-90km of absolute bliss (ie. smooth, wide, divided motorway) I was averaging around 90-100kmph during the whole stretch. Stopped at a Mc'Donalds for brekky at 7am near the end of the motorway
After the motorway ends, its quite a dangerous non divided highway with a few rough patches to Roorkee. Roorkee to Dehradun is a mixed bad as far as riding fun goes; some nice stretches nearer to Dehradun. Fuel stop there and brimmed the tank again (fuel figures coming up later). I then made the mistake of taking the main Mussoorie road up to Mussoorie, and the last 10km was HORRIBLE, completely ruined the twisties
I vowed that I'd come down a different way.
2. Arriving in Mussoorie on a bike, it suddenly dawned on me; its SUCH a convenience to have a two wheeler there! The steep slopes and narrow streets posed absolutely no problem whatsoever for Nox. It was smooth and my time in Mussoorie gave the lower gears and lower rpm registers a good workout!! I even took a trip with my sister to Dhanaulti. For those of you who are thinking of the Mussoorie ride, you simply HAVE to do the Dhanaulti stretch as well. Its just 25km form Mussorie, but the road..is just spectacular. Find a good time (say early morning), theres no traffic and the curves can just be eaten up effortlessly by the NS. The views are amazing, to say the least! It's a great trip for a picnic or somethin!
3. Monday morning 7am I headed out of Mussoorie and took a much better route down to Dehradun: A new road via Jaypee hotel. Its heaven compared to the main one and Nox loved it! Brimmed the tank once again in Dehradun. I did a non-stop journey from Mussorie back home to Delhi. Covered 310km in 4.5 hours! It would have been 3.5 if it wasn't for the Delhi midday traffic! The reason was that I kept a seriously brisk pace once hitting the motorway past Roorkee. Guys, I had the throttle completely opened through the ENTIRE 90km stretch, which was dispatched in about 40 minutes. The speedo was glued between 130 and 140, with no rebellion from the motor. My head was plastered on the tank in a fully crouched position and my feet were actually on the pillions footpegs (funny position I know, but it worked!) Reached vmax of 149kmph on several occasions. Seriously, for a street bike, the NS can take to the highways NO PROBLEM whatsoever! Regular cruising at 100-110 in a normal upright position is also perfectly fine. The only part of me that was sore once arriving home was my backside
The higher gears received a good workout for sure!
4. Took the bike to the service center for a checkup two days ago to see if any damage was done on the trip (keep in mind, I've only had the first service done at 460km so far!) The bike is due for its second service in another 1000km or so. Ive got 3600km on the odo right now. So, in the service center I basically asked the mechanic to tighten up all the bolts, check the oil levels, give the bike a thorough wash and lubricate the chain. They did all that, and as I was watching, since I last tightened the bolts over 3000km ago, the only ones that seemed to be a LITTLE loose were the ones around the console area and a couple under the seat, near the monoshock. The rest was still tight as a drum. The bike was fairly rattley around the console area after the trip (not surprisingly, but more that usual). After he tightened the screws, its been down to the regular buzzing console I've come to accept :/ I asked him to check the engine oil level and upon me insisting, he topped it up with about 200ml of synthetic oil (which I guess means that 200ml vanished during the last 3000km). No other fluids needed refilling, the air in both tyres is still fine since I bought the bike(!), the chain tension was adjusting ever so slightly and after the wash, Nox was brand new again. Absolutely epic bike. It loves to rev. Seriously.
5. Ok, now for some mileage figures: From Delhi to Dehradun, I calculated I did 280km on 7 litres, which gives me 40kpl at an average cruising speed of 80-100. After tanking up again in Dehradun on my way back to Delhi, I calculated that I travelled 190km in the mountains and I used up 6 litres; thats about 32kpl in the mountains, mostly with a pillion, so I was impressed! Finally, after tanking up again in Delhi upon arriving back home, I calculated I used 8.5 litres over 310 km, which is 36.5kpl (which I can live with since I was riding HARD the whole way!) Note: Premium petrol used all the time.
Ah yes, I had a slight issue in Mussoorie: Trying to negotiate a super tight hairpin in a steep parking lot , the large turning radius proved to be a bane and resulting in me falling of the bike as it leaned precariously in one direction. I held on to Nox as long as I could until it came resting on the concrete on its right side
Got it upright with the help on a gentleman who was passing nearby. Not a single scratch and no issues apart from the fact the the rear brake pedal bent in by a centimeter or so. It wasn't an issue riding back to Delhi and the service guy straightened it without any problem
I am now looking forward the the second servicing. I hope the bike will further smoothen out after that, but for now, all is well!
Cheers,
Jason.

Not all SVCs know about this, it ll take some time, but i guess they will call all the owners when they are ready to do that.Originally posted by mayank.travadi View Postwhat should we tell the ASC? i am going for service tommorow(i dont face any vibrations but if i press my knees against the tank vibrations are felt but i guess those are normal isnt it? )
i guess they'll just say we havent received any such info from bajaj
any solid proof or a mail that you can forward so that we can show it at the asc
or will the pic posted suffice? (its kind of blurry)
Rahul Devnath Sir has already done that mod, he changed his console color to red, to match his RED pilots. He even posted the DIY (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...sar-200ns.html)Originally posted by vivek.m View PostDo let me know if you are successful in modding the LED colour of the console. Small solo trips are great. Even i did 2 small trips this weekend , bangalore-lepakshi on saturday and bangalore-yellagiri on sunday
Will post some photos by evening !!
ATGATT! There are many wonderful riders/drivers out there who would intrude in your riding space without any notice. Be prepared. Stay Safe.

Many of the svc people do not have enough knowledge about the bike, not even basics. When I took my bike for the first service, they did not even know that the oil filter had to be changed during the first service. I had to summon the floor manager to convince them.Originally posted by govind.one View PostVisited KLN Automobiles, Annanagar SVC For the new rubber grommets last saturday... as always.. they never knew such things existed.. so took out the pic posted by @kaydee_bangalore (Thanks a ton bro!)... Did you fix both the horns or just one. Did you fix a relay. Where did you manage to fix them. Sorry about the line of questions.Originally posted by ramdante View PostGot my NS the much needed horns, Roots windtone, like the ones in Vw/skoda etc., Damn they are loud, makes heads turn!

I am about to buy a new set of horns or maybe a single HT horn. The stock horn is not good enough in the din of city traffic.
Could you post a few pictures. It would a lot useful for many of the members here.Your bike is a part of you....
