As far as vibes go there isnt anything concerning. I think dtsi oil is doing its job pretty well. May be because it is just around 200 odd kms old and I havent poured in with motul yet ! Have to say after 2k kms my bike feels different and mileage is in the 40s region even within the city .

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Nah ! At 2nd servicing (1900 km) they told that the oil would run fine till next 2000 kms ie. upto 4000 kms so no need to change it.. but as the oil had turned blackish (as seen through that inspection window) and vibes started to roll up , I did self change of oil and filter with dtsi oil .. will run with it till 3rd servicing till 4k kms and change with dtsi again as I dont want to mess up with my warranty .Originally posted by Tanzing Sherpa View Post

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys, I generally apply front to rear brake in the ratio of 9:1 (90% front and10% rear) but at the end of the journey my rear disc feels comparatively hotter than the front disc which really doesnt feel hot despite being used more. Adressed it to the svc they suspected that it was due to the foot being rested to the rearbrake that might have applied the brake constantly on the move. As a result they increased the play ..
Nowadays I am conscious that I dont put my right leg on the rear brake pedal though the disc feels hot to touch(not that hot which would peel off the skin, but comparatively hotter than the front disk) .. Is it the case with all yours bike or only mine has some issues ?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi guys,
I have ridden my NS for 28,000 kms now and am greatly happy with the bike...rather mesmerized. Amazing performers. I have 2 things to ask which i would appreciate an answer to
1. Has anyone tried to install a K&N filter (conical) to the NS? If yes, how has the performance improved and is there any negative impact noticed?
2. My bike gives me jerks while being ridden between 5500 to 6500 rpms. Anyone else face same issues and if yes, how were you able to fix it.
Thanks in advancesigpic

Congrats for putting 12k happily and I wish you many more troublefree miles.Originally posted by vivek7593 View Post
Completed 12k kms
no niggles and problems after 2000 kms
People who are finding downshifts hard try shifting gears one at time and blip throttle while doing it.. I learnt this technique and found it useful..
Only mistake I did by switching to fs oil at 7000 kms :banghead:
Didnt face any problems though.. But still

Tommorow going to make short trip to mumbai back and froth I a day with a pillon this time.. Lets see how pillon experience would be

I have also switched to motul 7100 at 4500 kms. As you have mentioned in the post that changing to this oil at 7k was a mistake, can you please mention how you concluded this. I am asking because I am also using it.
Also what is the drain interval of the oil if ridden enthusiastically (read, around 6k to 7k very often and redlining once in a while). Does riding like this effect the engine life?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Guys I need your help
Today I was hit by another bike while taking a turn and we fell down..
I made a quick check after the ladayi and everything looked fine. The handle and the leg guard have hit the road I thought..
But when the bike is running I can hear some metal rubbing sound like 'bleeep' and it's occurring periodically when moving. I assume it's something related to wheel. And checked the bike once again after reaching home and I found that the rear brake pedal was bent a little and the front wheel nut, rear chain adjuster also have touched the ground when we fell..
What could've gone wrong
Elections are going on here today and tomorrow it's holiday for SVC so I've to wait till they reopen. This sound is intimidating and scaring me.
I'm scared to take the bike out now.
BTW It's 1100km on odo now, (just in case if it's related to query)

Congrats that you're getting 40 in city,i usually get 34 maybe due to high rev and i mostly ride with pillion.Dtsi oil is great and i never experience irrititating vibration as other complain, maybe i'm not giving more concern on that with which i'm happy.I'm concern about enjoying my ride than finding flawsWith motul i'm experiencing more smoothness but dtsi oil is also good as my experience and if absense of motul i won't mind using dtsi back.Originally posted by shreezan View PostNah ! I ride with a pillion too.. But I don't revv much, mostly cruising around 5-6k rpm. I'm getting around 37.1 kmpl now in city riding..Originally posted by Tanzing Sherpa View PostCongrats that you're getting 40 in city,i usually get 34 maybe due to high rev and i mostly ride with pillion.Dtsi oil is great and i never experience irrititating vibration as other complain, maybe i'm not giving more concern on that with which i'm happy.I'm concern about enjoying my ride than finding flawsWith motul i'm experiencing more smoothness but dtsi oil is also good as my experience and if absense of motul i won't mind using dtsi back.

Do check the leg guard as it may be broken and producing sound due to vibrations.

OK.. It appeared firm.. I'll check it again..
but I don't think it's leg guard. The sound is periodical.
Like I'm moving in a straight line and if I get the sound when I'm at X, if I move back and come forward again, I hear the sound at X again..
It's getting louder sometimes and low but always there when I'm moving the bike.
It disappeared when I crossed 30kmph (may be i couldn't hear it) and I can hear it again when the bike is slow. So I feel it must be something with wheel..

Now coming to the bike part ...its very difficult to say anything without inspection but il give you a few ideas
Put the bike on side stand nd bend the bike towards you so that the rear wheel comes up. Ask someone to spinn it in neutral, if it dosent spinn freely or the noise comes then you know where its from
If its not from the rear wheel then its the front
Check if front mudguard is bend or mis aligned it may be rubbing the wheel
Chain tensioner or something bent may be rubbing against the chain or wheel
Sound disappearing aftern30kmph is because ....when you are increasing speed the parts rubbing are hitting with a higher force and hence they are moving away from each other after collision faster and one is warping
This suggests that one of the rubbing parts is softer like fiber, plastic or rubber.
Hope it helps.
Would be easier if you had a main stand.

thank you divyansh.. The other guy kind of jumped over his splendour's handle and fell over my leg.. Small burn from silencer due to that..
I'll check the rear now but the sound as not much audible to pillion.. So I guess it's not the rear and AFAIK the bike took the hit on the frame.. Right on or/and above that tiny chain cover.
Another explanation for the sound disappearance could be also be due to increase in frequency and it might've got into a continuous tone that's not audible due to engine sound. Which also points to the same thing.. It's from some thing that's moving.
Can I get the bike checked by mechanics outside? I was a little skeptical about their knowledge about NS but if it's a chain problem, I guess they might know something, but I'm little too scared to take it to mechanics outside and the sound is scaring me more than that..

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Do you want to have problems now. .? If mot then stay away from.mods and enjoy your ride. Filter installation is possible, but you need a highly experienced mechanic as it isn't a plug and play thing. Also, any performance mods ultimately lead to bike degradation. So, stay stock else buy duke 390.Originally posted by rossi_god View PostHi guys,

Check your AFR +IDLE rpm jerks at 5-6k rpm are mostly due to bad setting, even I had them for short period when svc played with my carb settings.
Never use SS before 10000KMS.Originally posted by skv View PostCongrats for putting 12k happily and I wish you many more troublefree miles.

Fs before at least 7000kms.
Don't drain your 7100 now, deed has been done, next time, when drain internal comes (3500-4000kms if you ride like me aka getaway rider) ,keep a check.
Check discs bending, then check whether any tyre part is touching any else part while rotation, though 90% it's discs that making noise. Check handle bar for bends and replace it if anything funny suspected (350₹ approx) check leg guard too, even if you find no cracks but deep marks then change it as it must've absorbed a lot amount of force during impact and Mau have developed internal cracks while so, don't go for straightening, hammering leg guard, it costs only 110₹.Originally posted by krishnasv View PostGuys I need your help

Nobody hates dtsi, it's just that it makes your bike feel like a decade old discover after 1000kms, I don't want honda smoothness but neither want a gear stuck bike. Maybe you 're good on dtsi, but here in India, everyone is fed up of it.Originally posted by Tanzing Sherpa View PostCongrats that you're getting 40 in city,i usually get 34 maybe due to high rev and i mostly ride with pillion.Dtsi oil is great and i never experience irrititating vibration as other complain, maybe i'm not giving more concern on that with which i'm happy.I'm concern about enjoying my ride than finding flawsWith motul i'm experiencing more smoothness but dtsi oil is also good as my experience and if absense of motul i won't mind using dtsi back.

Conventional wisdom will tell you not to ride the bike like that but it has to be done so you have to do it.Originally posted by krishnasv View PostI'm good

And yes just ask a mech to find out where the noise is coming from.
Another top tip
Walk the bike like a cycle on a straight calm road and try to hear the source of the noise. Once you know where its coming from put under bright lights and inspect it.
I think its either a mud guard, bent chain cover maybe more.

Hehe
I live nearer to hitech city here in hyd, traffic is a little too high.. and my ride timings (to and fro office) match school timings in the morning and office timings in the evening.. Can't take it to speeds then..
Secondly I don't feel like revving more than that with a pillion dude.. I feel ashamed to show how vibey NS gets after that rpm range.. :banghead:
