Guys any comments on the above (text in bold and italics). I am going to SVC now so if it is a defect I can ask for some help there..Originally posted by vivek.m View Post[OT]
Secondly, I noticed a weird behavior with the RPM needle today. The needle movement is not smooth at all when I am reving the engine in neutral (just upto 3000 rpm). It reacts slowly to the revs annd is jerky in movement. Is this an expected behaviour?
This bike is funny in many ways. Last time with the full tank method I got a milage of 58kmpl :O I couldn't believe it and thought the fuel dispenser is at fault and gave me more fuel :P (I normally see the opposite happening)
Second, at times there are vibrations in the lower rpm side (2.5k-3.5k) especially in the 4th or fifth gear
Still, coming from Pulsar 150 DTS-i (first generation spoke wheel), this bike feel light and fast. I am just loving the experience!!sigpic

the build quality and fit and finish is awesum....have a very premium feel to it.... Base color is rubberised matt black with a soft touch feel with golden and silver graphics.... The vents on top are brushed golden and slide sideways...... Now coming to the internals, the padding quality is exceptional, the fabric reeks quality and is very very soft.... Fitting is very snug.... The air vents are quite good... I could feel air moving around my face while riding..... Still no fogging issue.... Overall awesum product.... Only negative is a bit wind noise with visor up.. I am damn impressed....Originally posted by pgaucha View PostCost and review would be appreciated.... Wish you a happy diwali

For the past few days, I have been suffering from 0kmph at any rpm on the odo. The problem turned out to be that the svc guys improperly attached the speedo sensor cable. they said that it was not working and has to be replaced under warranty, but they had no spare one available right now. Today, when I examined casually I found the plug to be attached loosely, and just I fit it tightly. Went for a ride and the thing was working fine.
I hate these stupid svc guys.
Happy diwali everyone.BreaklessBiker

Help needed - though I had already posted this incident briefly on my previous post, but now i am seeing that the problem persists.
A couple of days ago I took my bike to 80+ kms ride (to and fro) (and NOT as @jagdeesh predicted up hill or down hill). I am currently 750+ kms on the odo.
While the up journey, there was a moment where I was riding at an average of 60+ kmph constantly, and then I had to slow down for some heavy traffic. Now, when i slowed down, I found that no fuel was getting supplied at low revs.. I downshifted to 2nd and then to 1st gear, but still there was no fuel supply at low throttle.I had to rev the throttle high (with half clutch pulled in) to keep the engine running!! After sometime, the problem got corrected itself.., but the bike was giving hiccups (jerky motion) while riding at low revs!!
Surprising, while at down journey, the fuel went to reserve, and then i did not find any such issue. (though the road was quite clear at that time, and i hardly rode the bike at low revs)
Today morning, I found out, the bike started at on push of button. But since I idle it for about 30 sec or so, the engine died died after a few sec, and then refused to start. I had to twist the throttle quite a bit to make the bike fire up. Then keeping the Bike on Neutral, i found that there is Insufficient fuel supply at low revs. To put it more descriptively, if I hold the throttle at low RPM (1.5-2k), then there is hardly any fuel supply, and then after 3-5 sec there is a burst of oil supply, and the RPM increases instantly to 3.5-4K. The same action follows while riding as well. It knocks for quite a bit, and there is sudden and jerky acceleration. (mind u that my bike is still in reserve)
I think there is some dirt/problem in the carb. Can you guys pls suggest what should I do??
Thanks in advance..sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"

One solution, SVC. Stress on the problem and don't listen to their cliche remarks like "It's all normal; new engine; run in period; low quality petrol; etc" Just tell them you're taking back the bike after the throttle responds like before. Or since you suspect the carburetor, get it cleaned ASAP. It might solve the issue.Originally posted by Shibadip View PostHelp needed - though I had already posted this incident briefly on my previous post, but now i am seeing that the problem persists.

mee too having same prblm of late... Only solution is keep adequate fuel.... Mimimum 1 litre on main....then it vanishes.... I think there is a blockage in fuel line.... Bike is sucking in air.....Originally posted by Shibadip View PostHelp needed - though I had already posted this incident briefly on my previous post, but now i am seeing that the problem persists. I feel IT IS.Originally posted by Horror View PostEven with an average speed of 80kmph, a mileage of 24kmpl is a little less, istn't it? I would expect at least 33-35 kmpl at 80kmph.
Well it was actually 900 kms in less than 12 hours...Originally posted by thumpmeister View Post@Horror: It is not Boxer CT or Discover, we are discussing the Pulsar 200NS.
Woah..900km in one day..thats awesome, surojit!!
Originally posted by Horror View PostI know exactly what we are discussing about so thanks for clearing that
I have heard on various occassions on this thread, which I have been following from the very beginning as well as from a few friends who own this bike that the average mileage on the bike on highways is between 35-40. Surojits bike here has given him only 24. My question is isn't that a little less than the normal figures and if he knows why? So you can keep your comments to yourself thanks.
Oh and one more thing, please use the multi quote feature. Don't spam the thread.Ok to clear out things.... Consider the following situations (same day, almost same road, same weight on my bike)Originally posted by thumpmeister View PostThanks for the lesson in syntax & semantics. Nothing to take offence about. Just consider this, 200cc machine, 23.5 bhp, constant 80kmph. You expect it to deliver 35-40? I rest my case. I dont believe in keeping my comments to myself when you can pass such comments.
1. Bike hits reserve in 178km mark in Trip 1 in the odo, I tank up and then constantly do 130+ kmph speeds, bike hits reserve again at 390km mark in Trip 1. and I am like WTF????
2. I again tank up at 390km mark on Trip 1, and decide to take it slow so I constantly keep myself between 110-120/125 kmph, the bike hits reserve at 710km mark on Trip 1.
So i guess you can yourself see the difference.
Please remember I am talking about the mileage figures for a ride in which I covered 900 kms in less 11 hours 15 mins. So I guess 30kmpl an on average for the whole ride id fine
supposedly =! is :POriginally posted by antz.bin View PostFirstly, unless you want an infraction, you might want to keep rudeness at its minimum AND learn to respect when someone tells you to follow forum rules.
Secondly, coming to the bold bit, the 21Ps, 220cc, Pulsar 220 DTSi can easily do 45kmpl at a constant speed of 80kmph. So there is no harm in expecting 35-40 from 200NS which *supposedly* is more efficient than the P220. Even the *supposedly less efficient* Duke will do better than 24kmpl in such riding conditions.
I completely agree to the bold part.. I just reported the figures and also mentioned that I am fine with it...Originally posted by s.roy0717 View PostMileage depends on many factors guys, not just what speed ur riding it constant & all..
Road conditions- Ups, downs, hurdles to slow u down, etc.., Also kinda riding style ur adopting, the no# of stops u make in a stretch ( I know many of u will think that as long as the coolant temp can take it, u can go non stop, but it's a wise style to break off for a 5min after a hr or +half hr long stretch ), petrol, oil, & many other things. As long as u keep a check on it & r satisfied with what the Bike served u as at the end of the day, It's all beautiful.
Btw, Surojit, Awesome run mate... 900Km.. Nice.. Where did u do this 900Km ??
The ride was Bangalore-Pune.

Got New Helmet
Hello All,
I need some help!
My bike completed 500 km mark today and is due for servicing.
It is still running on the same dtsi oil that came from Bajaj.
I am having the following issues/'niggles' with my bike:
- From the last 50-60 km's I feel that the vibes on my bike have increased considerably. Will the vibes go after the oil change?
- My bike is not tuned properly, when I ride it for like 10 km's, the bike idles at 2.5k rpm
but when I kill the engine and switch it on again then it gets back to 1.6-1.8k rpm. Also the fe of bike is extremely low ie less than 28 kmpl [this is during runin period-riding sanely at 60-70 kmph with gradual acceleration]. I searched a bit on the forum and found that this happens when the afr is richer. I reside in Navi Mumbai, can anyone guide me which Service Center will be able to tune my bike properly? btw I really am afraid giving my bike to the Bajaj Service Center.
Got a lid for my head today, the model is SOL SL68s II Metal Man Blue.
Goes well with my blue NS

As the engine performance improves, mileage will come to. It's very difficult to judge, unless u've tried out everything, to get the best mileage & it's means. So keep it going...Originally posted by surojit View PostI feel IT IS.
