Nice Pilot lights, really bright. Can you post a picture of the lights which you used. And the cost?Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostOne solution, SVC. Stress on the problem and don't listen to their cliche remarks like "It's all normal; new engine; run in period; low quality petrol; etc" Just tell them you're taking back the bike after the throttle responds like before. Or since you suspect the carburetor, get it cleaned ASAP. It might solve the issue.
Btw, a few pics of my NS on a short solo trip (inspired by @surojit sir's adventures and a few excellent articles in the Hard Torque section)

and a tiny mod:
Did 133 km/hr with a pillion(Heavy). Was quite amazed on how the bike effortlessly pulled to that speed. It didn't feel any stress at all even beyond 125. Still had some room for more speed maybe +3-6km/hr, but had to slow down.
And has some one changed their bike's horns yet? I like to get the VW/benz style horns for my bike, is it viable?

Hi friends,
I have seen some of the NS owners talk about the cost of the centre stand. When I checked at my service centre, they quoted Rs750. I sent a query to Bajaj asking for the exact price. And they did not respond to my query. Where as they did respond to my suggestions that were sent prior to asking them the price of the centre stand. So pathetic.Last edited by danny king; 11-14-2012, 03:04 PM.Your bike is a part of you....

dont ask the mechanic or a service engineer about the price
ask at the spares section
the price is 517 inclusive of all taxes(even if they increased the price it cannot go to 750...what they told u is price of centre stand + fitting)
if you are the DIY type u can get the stand and fit it on your own..i had posted a couple of pages back how to fit
if not pay the svc 230 bucks and get it fitted
if not ask a local mech how much will he charge to fit and if u find that cheaper get the stand and fit it from the mechPulsar 200NS parts list

It cost me Rs. 180/- a pair. A friend of mine told it could have been arranged for Rs. 10/- but I said the pack had the MRP and I didn't want a used one.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Never Go for the query to Bajaj... Hopelessness beyond reach they have... :POriginally posted by danny king View PostHi friends,

The vibration or erratic response is only when I am in neutral and revving the engine. While riding, it is working perfectly fine. Do you think it is a problem?Originally posted by faffy View PostIs it vibrating quite a lot? Also, any one got HID/projector installed on their bike? I am looking at getting one (yes I know it voids warranty) but NS being a relatively new bike, should I wait for some more time to start tinkering with electricals? (My bike is only 200kms old
). Also, I am restricted to a budget of 10k for these mods. Please suggest.
Also, does changing the spark plugs void warranty?sigpic

arey surojit da you are atleast getting 24kmpl at 130kmph and i am gettimg 24kmpl at a constant 55-60kmph on highway....and the goddamn svc mech says its normal....i was like w*f.... He said this bike will give 25kmpl in city and 30 in highway.... I am really sick with bajaj service backup...Originally posted by surojit View PostI feel IT IS. Well it was actually 900 kms in less than 12 hours...
Ok to clear out things.... Consider the following situations (same day, almost same road, same weight on my bike) 1. Bike hits reserve in 178km mark in Trip 1 in the odo, I tank up and then constantly do 130+ kmph speeds, bike hits reserve again at 390km mark in Trip 1. and I am like WTF???? 2. I again tank up at 390km mark on Trip 1, and decide to take it slow so I constantly keep myself between 110-120/125 kmph, the bike hits reserve at 710km mark on Trip 1. So i guess you can yourself see the difference. Please remember I am talking about the mileage figures for a ride in which I covered 900 kms in less 11 hours 15 mins. So I guess 30kmpl an on average for the whole ride id fine supposedly =! is :P I completely agree to the bold part.. I just reported the figures and also mentioned that I am fine with it...
The ride was Bangalore-Pune.

I sometimes wonder where they hire these svc mechs from!!!! It's exactly the same every where... :/Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Postarey surojit da you are atleast getting 24kmpl at 130kmph and i am gettimg 24kmpl at a constant 55-60kmph on highway....and the goddamn svc mech says its normal....i was like w*f.... Damn what I have installed has around 16 small bits like those, yet it doesn't look as bright as yours, may be the picture is deceiving me :|Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostCheck this:

Can't be. I've posted separate pics during broad daylight here: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...ps-leds-2.htmlOriginally posted by ramdante View PostDamn what I have installed has around 16 small bits like those, yet it doesn't look as bright as yours, may be the picture is deceiving me :|
You too post pics. How much did you spend?
Btw, has anyone found news / sneak peeks / genuine information about the all new pulsar 375? Now that the 390 duke is heard of, it's natural to expect this according to many rumors I've heard.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Guys, need some more help. I noticed a new issue today
(seems like I am getting new issues every other day :X). Anyways, I noticed today a different vibration or engine sound pattern when the clutch is depressed or released. When depressed, it sounds gentle and when released the sound/vibration (sounds like plastic vibrating) increases. Also, the passenger foot rest on the right side vibrates
I have never driven the silent assassin fast or rash (I break judiciously at every speed breaker) but I am now getting a bit frustrated. My pulsar 150 did not suffer these issues at least for the first couple of years.
After reading all the reviews on this bike's build quality I was super excited and was looking for a decent experience but as each day passes, I am facing new issues. I am not sure whether it is my luck or my riding style but I am surely losing the earlier impressions.
Those of you who have had the bike for more time (read kilometres) please let me know if you are (still) facing the issues I mentioned above (mainly vibrations). I hated them on my P150 and I hate them on The Silent Assassin (though the vibrations are minor). If the vibrations are there for you guys, I might consider selling it off and going for something else.
PS: The above is just my opinion and I wanted to share it. It might (hope) will change after the first service.sigpic

Hi All,
From past 3 days, i am experiencing this new issue, while riding i get this Strange noise as though the wheel is touching something, but it certainly comes from the wheel, when i kill the engine off, the sound still persists (this is while riding).
So naturally, i wanted to investigate where the noise or sound is coming from, so i parked my vehicle on center stand and then turned on the Engine put it first gear, revved it and i hear no sound!!! It just comes while I am riding, any idea guys, the sound is l similar to riding an old Cycle, you can have this sound coming for every turn of the tyre...
Any inputs guys, i believe it is the Chain slack causing this issue? Its irritating me a lot, the worse part is this that the sound creeps up suddenly, and there is no way to find the cause of this sound as well
