how can alloys go kaput with just a minor crash?
is the NS alloy so weak??
any idea how much a new alloy would cost?

also read a post of disc plate being bent...

and a small crash led to bend of the brake pedal on the left...

if the quality of parts used on the NS not good?

little concerned as i booked the NS a few days ago...

Maintenance is required in bikes of this range. Even p220f requires maintenance. The parts are not so weak but the bent on brake pad depends on the impact suffered by it during the crash.
Just follow the run in. It is required not only by the bike but also by the rider to know his ride properly.
Quality of parts are good but because of its weight, height and small leg guard they are more vulnerable to damages.

Installed centre stand today. Total cost including labour and tax 629rs.
I am waiting for right handle bar. Not in stock. I hope changing handle will solve the wobbling issue.

What i am telling, is before making the payment for new handle bar, make sure the wobbling is gone.
otherwise, change of handle is not required.

BTW, i thought u had a red bike with motul and ls2 sticker on the swing arm..Or am I Imagining the wrong guy??

Yes, you can..But as Pinaki Da said, use it scarcely..

The alloys are...well alloys...and an impact has just bent them and not broken them. Any metal would de-shape in an impact. More over they carry the bike+rider's weight on them. Any dis-balance+impact on a single area/point of the alloy can bend it.

The disc bent is a manufacturing defect and not a result of a mishap. And it will be replaced too.

Foot peg bent...again a protruding tweeny-weeny metal will bend when scraped or banged.

Lastly, the quality isnt bad...even if this happens with a CBR/R15 will you say the same?? I doubt. So please dont base your buying decision on such minor one-off incidents.
Moreover the owner who had this mishap himself is very much satisfied with the machine.

                • Some suggestions for every NS owner when they go for servicing and want some issues sorted out, best if done at first service itself.

                  1. About the snatchy throttle feel : tell them the pick up has gone down and increase pickup(the mechanics will understand this kind of language only. If u tell them to tune the carburetor you will just get a strange look and a dumb suggestion)
                  2. Tell them to sort the engine vibrations.
                  3. for the buzzing sound from the console: tell them to rectify the fairing noise.
                  4. If you feel the disc is bent have them specifically write in the job card.
                  5. About those wierd noises from the engine ask them to adjust the tappet noise.

Lastly, any problem you feel with your bike, do not just only convey it verbally, but also have it written in the job card with the key words of the problem, so that even if they are not rectified immediately, you will be able to lodge a complaint in the future.

Mostly problems written in the job card do get sorted out immediately without any need to complain again(that is from my experience with the dealer here, dont know about other places).

All the above problems have been sorted as of today on my bike even the console noise.

Today the bike felt like what it was supposed to be when it was new, PERFECT.

well alloys are supposed to me mixtures of metals and nonmetals giving them super hard property and strength..well i have never owned a bike so i didnt know how are they bent or damaged...and if it was on a cbr and r15 i would laugh very hard and crack jokes on the owner of him buying such a costly bike and not so tough parts...personally i wouldnt buy a jap bike...mera desh mahan..toh wanna support humara BAJAJ
if p200ns wouldnt have been launched i was almost on the verge of buying a discover..

are such bends or damage to alloy wheels repairable? the p200ns alloys are a new design and those thin spokes made me doubt a little on their strength..

how to determine if a disc is bent? i am soon going to take my bike's delivery on dushera and if there are such manufacturing defects or issues i can notify and rectify them on spot..

Obviously i am not going to cancel my booking or anything and i am indeed super excited to own this bike..

Can you Please tell what was done to the fairing to sort out the console noise???

All those who have completed their 1st servicing, can you tell whether the AIR-Filter was cleaned or not??
Coz the mechanic today showed me the service manual telling that Air Filter needs to be cleaned at 5000 kms. Since I don't have my 1st service coupon, thus I couldn't confirm it up..

The quality is not bad at all and you can almost compare it with a yamaha. The roads I travel in have very many HOLES on the road, some of which I had the chance to ride over. The bike does take potholes well and the engine is very strong. the handling is the best.

The only problem is the clutch, it does give a nice hard workout for the left hand.

                            .

tightened all the nuts and bolts, placed rubber washers for every nut and bolt as per my request(You can find these at hardware shops if you want to do it yourself).

If you want it done separately by the ASC itself, give to them and get a job card written with complaint. Refuse to take delivery if not resolved. Anyway it was the manufacturers fault that noise was coming, so they should be the ones that are supposed to address it.

If you are nervous, do not straight away go in to traffic. Practice for a couple of days on empty parking lots or some place, practice slow riding and maneuvering like circle and figure of eight in a limited space, then practice braking, countersteering. when you do get used to the power, practice cornering the right way. and when you are confident enough go on the roads ride safe and dont be an idiot.
that is all there is to it.

As per the service coupon the "Air filter Element" is to be cleaned during first as well as second service. So it should've been cleaned.
