i dont think i can follow run in guidelines... post 3k RPM the bike flies....

i did a mistake... put normal fuel instead of speed and that to arnd 6ltrs...

next time se premium fuel for my premium bike...
First of all, congrats on ur baby. Hope you are together for many miles to come. And I dont think it's necessary to fill in premium petrol. I have been running on normal one from the beginning. Just makes sure that I get good quality fuel. But afterall, decision is yours...

      Normal in all pulsars I guess. All versions I have ridden (150 UG1, 150 UG2, 150 UG3, 180 UG3) have it.

Riding is not about destinations, it's about journeys.

      • Hi guys,

Sorry this could be OT but please help.

I am going to buy 200NS within next 2 weeks. I am from goa but i currently work in Coimbatore@TN. I am planning to stay here for not more than 1 year.
Now, i am confused whether to buy the bike here in Tamil Nadu or to buy it from Goa and ship it here to TN.

1)If i buy in TN, what will be the approx cost if i re-register the bike in goa 1 or more years later. I heard it can go upto 10k (reg. fees + road tax)

2)If i buy in Goa, what formalities need to be completed so that i don't get fined for riding in TN.

Is the road tax from one state valid in other states?

Please suggest an economical and a feasible solution.

It might be arthritis, get it checked by a rheumatologist. I have been suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis for the last two years, but that couldnt stop the biker in me

So can anyone confirm whether it's normal or not??
Is this the first time you took your bike to these engine speeds? Well for me, I completed the run in by 1300 kms and have been ripping my bike quite frequently ever since. I had these 'scary' vibes in the beginning but now, it's 1850 on the odo and the vibes are almost gone...from the footpegs, handlebars, tank and the console area. Yes a pillion does affect the vibes. Just make sure you regularly tighten most of the bolts on the front half of your bike.

I'm still waiting for my bike but when I took the test ride I didn't feel any pain. Is this pain after long duration of riding? Will a different clutch setting help?

Read it on your fb profile. You should write a triplog on it. Its going to be really interesting!

I am currently 550+ kms on the ODO, and I just did the 1st service before the puja where the nuts and bolts were properly tightened.
Yes, it was the 1st time I took my bike to those Engine Speeds.. But upto 7-7.5 k there is no vibrations on the handle. the Vibration suddenly comes when i take the Bike beyond 8K.!!!!.. and the vibrations were huge (or as u said, it was SCARY). I had to quickly release the throttle or shift to higher gear because of that.
Please tell how were the vibrations on ur bike is gone now..

I just somehow feel (I might be wrong, or Delusional)that the engine oil which came with the Bike as factory stock, was better than what has been running after the oil change during the 1st service. [No valid reasons, but just a feeling].... Anyways, i will be changing that oil while at 2K kms on the ODO.

Hmmn... will be waiting for that interesting story when we meet.
let 3 of us meet at the SVC when myth will get his 1st service done.
I will be doing the Air-filter cleaning, while I guess u said u will be loosening the clutch.

                          • purely ur choice

                            Congrats,

                            Mine too blue. Done 1200kms.

That was d reason I told to grab d offer. but purely ur choice.

My experience rear tyres skid on normal ( 55-60kmph) or at speeds above 70 or 80 kmph.

but you can drive some more miles & see.

I do not think that changing d tyre will affect mileage or Performance.

Also u can go thru all the auto shows on youtube i.e overdrive, autocar india...................

                            hi sudhir,

sorry couldn't read your post before purchasing the bike. btw i didn't change the stock tyres . i met bajaj mechanic (lucky ) at the showroom today, he said that bajaj chose eurogrips for long life and mileage and the bike to perform optimally for the tyres. if we change the rear tyre the performance may not be optimal. the showroom manager asked me to try the stock one's first and if i still don't like then i can change the tyres. he offered me a discount on 1000 bucks on the bike so that it can cover the cost difference of the another tyre. i accepted the offer .

asked for the center stand and the coolant topup. both were not available at present in the showroom as it was a newly opened one and they are expecting the stock in 15-20 days.

my observations in the first 50 km ride..

                            1. the gears are smooth but when i change the gears i get a click sound is it normal ? i have driven only fazer before this bike, in it the gear shift is no noise affair.

                            2. the acceleration is fine .. i am struggling to keep bike below 55

will post my review after getting some more kms under my belt with this beast.

                            Ride safe fellow amigos
                            chandan

i got my NS yesterday on dushera....
                                i am extremely happy

the initial impression is a mixture of good and bad points..

first there was a lot of waiting at the showroom

so i was waiting near a blue NS which was on display

when my no. came i got to know the display piece was MY bike.. :O

                                +ve points
                                • I love d bike,love the way it looks
                                • the handling is superb
                                • the suspension is awesome
                                • the brakes are awesome
                                • gear shifting is clean, though graduating from an activa i had no problem riding the bike
                                • the bike though being a bit heavy feels very light while riding

i havent ridden much so cant comment more

                                -ve points
                                • horn sound sucks big time
                                • the exhaust sounds like a truck/tractor
                                • large turning radius and i am not very comfortable in moving the bike in a small cramped up places(eg parking in tight spots)
                                • the manual mentions till first 1K km dont exceed 46kph on 6th gear....really? i guess the engine might start knocking and lugging
                                • i didnt look very carefully but i couldnt find the choke(i guess its somewhere hidden on the LHS under the side panel)
                                • the gear though slots in clean has a audible "click" sound to it and my friends who are ex pulsar owners said the gear shifting and engine is smooth initially but starts giving problems later on
                                • the turn indicator button isnt as comfortable to use which was on my activa
                                • i have ridden only 4 two wheeled vehicles in my life(p200ns, discover 150 ,activa and test rode a d125st) and frankly speaking i ddint find any difference in power and pick up between the two discovers and the NS....all of them seem the same while riding...not that its a bad thing but i expected something on a different level when i spent an extra 30 grands on the NS..may be this is becuase i restricted my right wrist on twisting the throttle as i believe the bike has a lot of potential...for running in i am not sticking to manual recommended speed limits...sticking to not revving above 3.5-4K rpm
                                • i saw the duke and the coolant refilling cap is accessible just near the head light while i cant see any such cap in the NS...i hope i dont have to unscrew and open up a lot of stuff if i plan to become a DIY type
                                • very less space to keep documents n stuff

but even with the cons i love my bike...i fall in love with it each time i look at it....
looking forward to have amazing time with the bike

a funny but a sad thing happened...yesterday when i got my bike my dad called up and asked and i told him i got the pulsar for 98K
he was shocked...he thought i was going to buy the discover125st(which i had initally planned to buy)
the sad part is dad bought the bike for me and he had no idea which i bought
he just asked mum to sign the cheque for me(he lives out of country) and asked me to go to the showroom and book it...
