Racing on roads is dangerous to you and other road users.....If you really want to know your and your bike's speed ability, go to the track.....My sincere Request to you to stop this immediately and Ride safe. Let the thread be a common place for sharing knowledge about the bike it's problem and solutions...let it not become a useless thread discussing speed and road racing.Hope you take it in the right spirit.Originally posted by manz46Pow!!!

Ok, getting over excited about a new bike & killing someone on the road, Will that feel any better than this mate?Originally posted by giridhar View PostI guess very few people understand what sarcasm is
.Don't be harsh on him bro he is just too excited with his new bike
Peace
Again, what if he's the victim of an over excited rider on the road with a new shiny bike someone like me? Will he feel any good about it then?Whenever there is a Rainbow in the sky, I know it's u mastering the art of Cornering. U will always be remembered brother, R.I.P Arun.

Hi guys, I've completed a month of ownership now and done about ~1400kms. A brief ownership experience. I rode a P200dtsi for about 4 and a half years (70K KMs) before I 'upgraded'
The first 500KMs
- Changed oil to Mobil 20W50 Mineral at 100KMs
- Gear slotting was quite hard and got quite a few false neutrals. It was highly frustrating for me but took it slow and patiently assuming it would sort itlself out. (the P200 was and is still butter smooth. Motul 300V FS prolly)
- Bike was set lean (factory settings) and I let it stay the way it was as I wanted to do the first run in period on factory settings.
- Rode sanely with a few bursts here and there and returned a mileage of about 50KMs/litre (highway + a bit of city riding conditions)
- Almost dropped the bike a couple of times while turning due the the snatchy feel. (Prolly down to the lean setting). Was able to jump off and hold on.
- The horn was quite embarassing, not that I use it very often. Changed the horn after a couple of PMs to Rahul D who was very helpful. Thanks mate
First servicing at ~500KMs
My instructions were:
- Do not change oil as I've just done it
- Check if the radiator fan works like it should
- Tighten all nuts and bolts
- The coolant had begun leaking a bit the earlier day. Got it fixed
Post 500KMs - till date
- Tuned the AFR to make it a bit richer. It was quite a noticeable difference. The snatchiness was almost gone. Then started noticing the RPM needle wavering slightly once the engine was hot and in idle condition (at traffic signals). Assumed I was running a little too rich so a slight twist on the leaner side and seems fine now.
- Figured out the quick shift method is what worked for me. No false neutrals now. None at all
- Changed oil again (1000KMs) to the same grade and brand as above and got rid of the tyre hugger as the rains seems to have gone.
- Red lined a few times in all gears and touched a speedo indicated 140 (on an open stretch of highway). Did this just a couple of times
- Waiting to cross the 2K mark so I can cruise a bit more freely
Overall experience
Basically anything bought of the shelf is going to have a few niggles. I had a couple too. But none serious that couldn't be fixed. After riding a Bajaj for about 9 years (P150dtsi before the P200) I'm totally impressed with the NS. It feels and rides just the way I want it too. Top product!** ting ting ta ting **

Even I feel the horn is fine and thx for the tip on checking the radiator fanOriginally posted by smrutisourav View PostI too feel like the horn is adequate. Other pulsar horns are better in sound.
@Shibadip: keep the bike idling 3-4 mins, automatically fan will start.

Has any one from Mumbai has sold his Pulsar 200NS Yellow color just a week back, with number ending 8400? and what is the on road price in Mumbai (Andheri) for 200 NS? which is the best service centre in Mumbai area for 200 ns from Bandra til borivali?Replace the words "I have to" with "I choose to" and notice the difference in how you feel.

In Kalyan, when i had enquired while the launch it was Rs98700 So in mumbai it would be close to 1L +/- 2k only!! anything over and above is on money!!Originally posted by dhiraj View PostHas any one from Mumbai has sold his Pulsar 200NS Yellow color just a week back, with number ending 8400? and what is the on road price in Mumbai (Andheri) for 200 NS? which is the best service centre in Mumbai area for 200 ns from Bandra til borivali?
Kalyan share an octroi of 4% and Thane 5% and Mumbai 4.5%, if i am not wrong!!

I did not change the oil as I had changed it just 400 KMs ago and wanted to stick to mineral oil for the run inOriginally posted by Shibadip View PostMy comments and Questions in Bold..[/LIST]

Thing is in the 500KMs that I had ridden the bike (mostly the rainy season and the weather here in pune was quite cool) I had never seen the fan runningso was a bit concerned. He took the tank off and rode it.
For the AFR I went anti-clockwise

I knew that.. But the manual says not to idle the bike for more than two minutes, otherwise it wil cause overheating. i rem somone gave the bike in SVC and they checked it by connecting some wires..Originally posted by smrutisourav View PostI too feel like the horn is adequate. Did they allowed to change oil to Motul or you did urself without letting them know?
@ Others: What does Bajaj Cust Care says about changing oil to Motul or some other brand? Are they allowing without any concern on warranty or not?My ride....My SUNSHINE... :)

I am closing in on my first service mark, Which is the best service center in chennai for the NS!? Anyone?
Because I don't want the svc people to screw up an otherwise top notch bike!
Also switching to Motul 3100 from 700kms! Hope its ok to do that and will make things better.
