  • Yesterday a most unfortunate event happened. I crashed into the rear of an auto (entirely my fault). As a result front forks are bent in towards the engine, rear brake pedal has the same condition also front mudguard is destroyed. I want to know will insurance cover it? And how much of it?
Where should I go to fix this?

I live in South Delhi near lajpat nagar.

    • I am planning to get a tyre pressure gauge and foot pump. Wanted to know how much does these things cost and from where can i get them.

      I live in Delhi.

Some body told me that the gauge on the foot pump only shows the pressure at which you are pumping and not the actual pressure of the tyre. Is it true? I doubt this.

Also any cheap alternate to the foot pump? Just asking.

should cost you between Rs.300~400. If you press the clip head deep on the tube/tire filling nipple and clamp , the meter will show the existing tire pressure. As you pump ,...the meter will keep moving up with each pressure cycle. But the accuracy of the meter is questionable and varies over time....as it ages/used more,.. meter will loose calibration.

          My comments in BOLD.

          1. Rubbing noise from Rear disc - I have took my bike to service center at least 4-5 times and got changed the rear disc and caliper to a new Bybre one but still I hear these noises during low speeds. Had sent 3 mails to bajaj folks to attend this issue.
          2. Oil indicator blinking - This occurs every time when I go past 50kmph speed, even this part was changed recently.
          3. Fuel indicator not reliable at all, you never know when it shows empty and reserve indicator starts blinking.

          4. Engine getting heated up very soon - I didnt observe this after my first service.

          5. Gear box - I didnt find the the gear shifting to be smooth at all, I could clearly hear the noise of gear lever no matter how ever smoothly I try to change it (keeping the rpm in mind); False neutral during downshift.
The gear shifts do have a pronounced click. This bike actually likes the quick shifting style so try to upshift at about 3.5 to 4 k rpms, it should shift without much noiise. As far as false neutrals go, it appears to be more with the gear shifter mechanism/lever not adjusted properly rather than the gearbox slipping. When downshifting 'blip' the throttle a little bit.

          6. Vibration - A known problem to all owners now.
but you can dismiss them as 'Sporty Vibes' ala TVS Apache . the vibes should lessen after the engine settles in. Normally, vibes subside after 4K rpm on the tacho.

          Ride Safe!
          Thanks!
When you say that you have similar kind of rear disc noise, is it only when you apply rear break? Cos in my case, I can hear this during low speeds even without applying break and while taking a turn too, Something like the caliper is rubbing the disc only in certain areas.. more of like the disc has a bend somewhere. This was the reason I got my rear disc changed but again I can hear the noise after some 30kms of ride.

          • Dear P200NS owners,

I received my Registration smart card since few days back and I can see that Model name given as 'PULSAR 200 DTSI', shouldn't that be 'PULSAR 200 NS'?

Thanks PSR ji for the reply. I was going reading on the net that it always better to keep a good pressure gauge. Foot pumps can be of any quality. So like you have said that the calibration of the meter will loose over time then it will be a good idea to go for a good pressure gauge. I have heard Michelin makes good pressure gauges / foot pumps how much do these cost? Any idea?

@Rahuldevnath - buddy any mods to add a 12V connector on the NS as this will allow to attach devices like electronic foot pump, mobile charger etc.

              Something like this one:

I get that sound even when i park my bike using my hands. But this has start recently only. But the sound is not constant and occurs only a certain point when the wheel rotates which only indicates that either the disc has bent (slightly) somewhere.

False neutral while shifting 1st to 2nd is something that does not surprise me anymore. I make a fool of myself when I up shift (1->2) while opening throttle in a bit hurry only to find bike revving incessantly & then I have to gently push it up. At times, gear level would not come back to normal position. These problems have always been reported but were never sorted out. I will be very strict with words when I visit showroom next time, probably coming weekend itself.

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

Totally agree...while upshifting from 1st to 2nd the gear gets into neutral (while the console doesn't indicates so) instead of getting into 2nd & also sometimes the gear becomes totally free & then I have to rev a bit so as to lock the gear in...very irritating in stop-start traffic...>.<

and very embarassing too, specially when u r doing some spirited riding and are hard on throttle.... engine roars but bike in neutral, gives an image as if u r learning to ride to others
