Anyways i had my exams and as i learned driving after purchasing the bike the odometer is just 90kms at 1st servicing done on 21st November 2013 . Purchased on 10th October 2013 for 99,300 on road everything included except delivery which was free , but on that day the delivery guy wasn't available [ plus gliders (motocross style ) helmet with number chain lock totaling 1,500]
Had to go through a lot of trouble for acquiring Red colour 200ns , got a call from the dealer Shreeram Bajaj Thane after 15 days that the company has stopped production of red colour and i'll have to choose a different colour or take my money back . On complaining to the call center i got a call the next day that my bike is ready :P . I took delivery 3 days after that when i got the permanent number from Thane rto .
I am getting an average of 36.5 kmpl , tested using the formula given in user manual . i'll get more upto 40 maybe if i drive at 50 instead of 85-100 on highway which isn't happening . I feel the front of my bike vibrating even at 40kms but it isnt much of a problem . Overall m quite happy . attached images of my 1st servicing bill . Messed with the photo on Photoshop and it is quite clear now, you indeed become a rodeo bull for them.
Teflon coating at 800 rupees?
Engine flushing at 257 rupees
Cleaning the chain which should be covered under general service cost you 125 rupees.
Could you post the price and V.A.T for the engine oil as mentioned in the bill.

Should not labor charges be free at first 3 services?

EDIT: Added the photos after messing with them on Photoshop. Hope they are a little bit clear now.

The Teflon coating is for 3 services . And the time limit is 30-45 days for 1st servicing which was about to end so i had to go . And the 20th feb is a tentative date not necessary to go on that date . And about the charges , i have attached a photo .

I'm having trouble with my downshifting. The bike is all smooth and normal to ride when driven below 50 kmph... but if I take it above 6k rpm in every gear or go around at 70 or 80 kmph, the downshifting becomes very hard. It feels like the gear wouldn't fall. It gets very scary during braking scenarios. While going at 70 kmph, if some rikshaw or car gets into the lane,I cant do engine braking. I cant press the brakes blindly because I never had a good relation with my eurogrips. And when I downshift , the bike behaves like it went into neutral.
i've changed my front sprocket to karizma's 13 T some 2 months before. Can this be the reason ?? Im reaching 9000 on odo. Had changed the engine oil (dtsi ) back when i was in 4000 odo. Should i change the oil to have smoother shifts?
Anyway I dont feel any confidence taking my bike above 55 kmph now...

Please throw some light into this guys......

Hey guys!
Got my bike today, while I was overjoyed in the beginning, it was short lived.
Here's what happened today...
I went to the showroom around 4pm, the bike was standing there all washed, I did all the basic checks and found nothing wrong.
Then the sales guy filled the tank with a liter of petrol to send me off.
But the bike was facing problems getting started.
He said the PDI guys must have not connected the fuel line to the carb properly and pulled out the pipe (about 50 ml of fuel poured out of that pipe), he re-connected it and the bike started, but was still turning off if I were to wring the throttle a couple of times( not more than 5k rpm).
It was rectified and I took the bike and came home.

On my way home, the bike stalled and turned off suddenly, rear wheel skid to a stop ( I was traveling around 30 kmph), scary feeling as I almost got rear ended by another bike.
Had filled 5 lts of petrol as soon as I got out.
Then went to meet some friends and the initial problem came back...The engine turns off sometimes during idling if the rpm is got upto 2.5-3k.
It was hard to get the bike rolling with this happening...The engine was turning off more than 50% of the times.
Once I got past the 1st gear those problems were almost gone. 4 of my friends tried and found the same problem as I. even they found that it was really hard to get the bike moving as it always stalls and turns off.

I am a total newbie when it comes to the working of a bike and its parts but some of my friends who know a lot more than I, said that the "diaphragm inside the carb might be punctured" another one said the engine is being starved between 2.5 and 3k and the carb might need some tuning.
I will be going back with a friend to get this checked. What do you guys think the problem might be?
Have any of you faced this problem before?
It is really disappointing to see these kind of things happen to a day 1 bike .
Also forgot to mention the idling is set at 1.5k.

Well, buddy, I'm okay that you paid for the engine oil, center stand and oil filter etc. but they are charging you for labor which should be free, check the bill yourself. Also why they charged you the whole amount for 3 Teflon coating (It's just wax, not Teflon coating actually), they should have charged you just 300 for the coating they done. I do have all four manuals for Pulsar 200NS (Service, parts catalog, owner's manual, labor price list) and I have read them before.

ledz3pp Go back there, the PDI guy is dumb, get a proper PDI done, either the carb is set improperly or the bike is not getting fuel. Maybe you are not used to that short 6 speed gearbox, get one of your friend who has ridden 200NS for some times. Let him ride and see if that happens.

Yep...you got jacked...no offence meant

So called teflon coating is 300 odd bucks for 3 times

I paid 950 odd for first service inc teflon coating and everything else and have 2 coupons with 9 month validity for remaining two coats

Yeah, try changing the oil, are you still using DTSI or switched to different oil? You may wanna blip the throttle every time you downshift. Taking over 6k rpm to reach 80-90 kmph is because of that 13T sprocket, if my calculations are right, you would be around 75 kmph at 6k rpm on the 6th gear with a 13T sprocket (The above mentioned speed does not account for speedo error, so you may see a higher speed on the console). Disregard shifting during emergency braking, you may wanna pull in the clutch if you like.

1) Replace the engine oil . Replace the oil every 2000 kms or 4 months , whichever occurs earlier . Drain the old oil hot and replace oil filter too .

2) clean drive chain . gently brush off dry dust with old toothbrush first then with same brush soaked in kerosene . wipe dry with clean cloth . lubricate it with fresh engine oil and wipe off excess with clean cloth . adjust chain slack correctly .

3) adjust clutch action & freeplay .

Check if the TPS aka Throttle Position Sensor is connected properly.Might the mechanic forgot to connect the TPS plug. When TPS snt connected bike behaves in such a weird manner.Attaching the Pic oF TPS of P220

in the above pic,a black wire on the left side of throttle and above the idle screw is connected to the carb.See if its connected on your bike and revert back

hard down shifts may be cause of bad clutch settings
check with the service center or go to a local mech
cause even am using 13t sprocket since a very long time, but i dont face such problems. and using your brakes will make you stop way faster than engine braking, just practice braking on open empty roads. ride around 70-80 and try to brake as fast as you can.
on stock tires, make sure you dont do heavy breaking on slightly wet or on gravels.

Yes it is the same..on both 2,3rd free service coupon it is mentioned within 8 months of purchase but kms are different in both..check it...

to evenly distribute the service u do 1st service at 1st month...2nd service at 4th month (3 months from 1st service) and 3rd service at 8th month (4 months from 2nd service)
