Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Internet research (fancy term for Googling) is mostly useless unless the gathered data is taken with a pinch of salt. There us a lot of myth on the Internet due to ease of content creation. Both kerosene and diesel possesses a high flashpoint and both are great degreasers but kerosene has virtually no lubricating properties while diesel possesses it, that is why direct injection is feasible in diesel engines. I prefer diesel to decrease wear and tear on the parts while cleaning but as I said earlier whatever floats your boat.
WD40 is a great chain cleaner and could be used to clean chains, WD40 ruining O-ring chains was just a myth and I have seen a guy on ADVrider forums debunk it years ago.
Here is the link to the aforementioned thread Chain O-ring WD-40 exposure effects study and results - ADVrider The myth about WD40 was started by people who used it like a chain spray thinking it will lubricate the chain too, while WD40 is just a solvent. AFAIK it is mostly kerosene, hence almost non-existing lubricating properties.I am back!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
To Hi! Today I saw the "Ceat Zoom XL" in a couple of tyre shops in Mysore. Its specifications are 140/70 17 and is a H rated tyre. The picture I have attached is for reference of the groove. The real one's groove looks the same but the name is "ZOOM XL" and not Dhoom. It says the top speed is 210 km/h. It is priced at Rs. 3200 in Mysore.
It would be great if any member can throw some light into how good the tyre is. Thank you.Last edited by niladri; 01-14-2014, 10:06 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
My 200 ns is just 19 days old with 330 kms on the odo.
Recently replaced engine oil at 300 kms (babaj's oil) with no other servicing done.. the engine has definitely felt much smoother and less vibey..
My question is ; can I take my bike to a 120 km destination ( some 10kms of tough terrains rest fine) and come back ?? That is 240 kms in a single day ?? The journey will also include arrowhead straight way where speeds will have to be around 70 kph (usually 120 to 130 kmph but since my bike is still under run in) !!
Ps what are the things I ll have to consider ?? The rpm will be around 5k throughout the journey ..
Help guys your words will be determining factor which will determine if I can take my bike or not !!

Take 5 min breaks after every 30-45 min OR 50kms [whichever comes first]
Dont keep the bike at a constant speed for long, vary the rpm/throttle
Try not to exceed 5-5.5k rpm
Check tyre air pressure before ride, that's it !Last edited by Mr.Officer; 01-14-2014, 11:16 PM.Never argue with a fool, for he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

@Cleaner @Anuj_GuptaAnuj_Gupta'm on xbhp connect and everyone who's familiar with your posts knows how many bikes you own.
(for moderators they can again block me if they find this offensive)
I hate people who boast of things they don't have and make things up just to get some internet attention.

Cleaner: Are the wheels aligned properly, does the bike go on a straight line when you lift your hands off the handlebar? Also the stock NS tires are not known for their grip, a little bit of deflection is common in crosswinds anyway.
To block someone on xBhp, go to his/her profile and click "Add to ignore list".
OT: There are quite a bit of bicyclists on xBhp and bicycling is a fun and healthy activity.
Again, personal attack, and baits aren't welcomed. If anyone has any problem, please contact any moderator by PM'ng them or PMng the desired person, personally, please do not carry this attitude in the thread. Failing to do so will result in super moderator intervention. This is the second time I am posting for the same in same thread.
Cleaner, though I appreciate your enthusiasm to spread the knowledge, take it a little easy on posting posts.
Anuj, please think before you type. Though your emotions and expressions are welcome, make sure it doesn't disregard the forum etiquette.
I hope I made it loud and clear and hope there isn't more intervention.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Got my bike's first service done with 607 km on ODO, due to non availability of Motul oil at Shiva Bajaj opted for Bajaj Dtsi oil 20w50 [Mechanic at svc didn't get a sealed can of oil BUT got it from a drum in cup/jar measure and NOW, I seriously doubt if it was absolutely fresh oil as it didn't look like shiny honey nectar but dull brown in color]
The bike was doing alright but gear slips, false neutrals, engine harshness DID NOT go away. At 782 km on ODO, I was hard pressed to switch to better oil. So, bought oil filter from SVC and oil from a dealer.
Went with Motul 3000 15W50 as it'd give better protection in Delhi winter and also because I read somewhere that a thinner oil and frequent oil changes help a fair deal in Running-in process.
Now, bike feels smoother, gear shifts have become much better and false neutrals almost vanished.
Thanks for the shop name and directions.Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostMy bajaj dtsI oil literally gave up, neutrals, gear slip, vibes never felt before in petrol tank assembly and handlebar.after that, enough was enough.
edit- finding motul in Delhi was a hard task, especially in EASt DELHI,but I found one shop
BHARAT OILS ,GEETA COLONY.
Found it easily, as we used to stay in Krishna Nagar and I know the area well.
Went there yesterday, luckily found the shop open, usually most shops are closed on Monday's in that market.Last edited by Mr.Officer; 01-15-2014, 12:44 AM.Never argue with a fool, for he will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

The thread is same as in the picture. I saw it today in a shop. I don't have trust on TVS tyres any more. Planning to upgrade to CEAT ZOOM XL.
