Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I did some research and i guess that the claims that with a k&n only the air supply is increased and not the fuel supply, are a bit disguised. Whether the bike has a c-v carb like ns or a ecu, in both cases slightly more air means slightly more fuel too, why? Bcoz in a constant vacuum carb, the air itself carries fuel and an ecu automatically adjust the fuel to keep afr constant.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View Postyou should feel a slight bump up in acceleration because when more air enters the combustion chamber, the bike burns more fuel and results in more power this is how K&N works.
Cheers!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
There is a drain bolt on the left side beneath the oil chamber, crack open it and drain some 50-100 ml, then tighten it. I too faced same issue and did as I mentioned above (I got it done at asc).Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostSo today I concentrated and zeroed in on two problems
1. Oil is leaking from oil filter cap, only when bike runs.
2. I've filed about 1.4+ ( fcuu you old aged measuring cups) OIL,that's why when I parked bike for 2 hours and saw oil level, the whole round window was full by oil.
So now I should just take out some oil right..? Any easy way to do this. .?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Your clutch cable needs adjustment, take it to a mechanic and ask him to adjust the clutch cable. Any mechanic should be able to do it, takes a minute and gonna cost like 10 bucks.Originally posted by Mandar64 View PostHey guys does Pulsar 200 ns tends to move ahead when started in gear with keeping the clutch pressed??
Well, looks like those chain sprays are working quite wellOriginally posted by princesirohi View Postguys what is the life of clutch plates and chain sprockets on our NS.
my bikes chain sprocket got uneven wear, it gets tight at some places and loose at other places. it is getting very difficult to tighten it correctly, my mechanic says, its life is over, change it. but it has not even reached half of its setting range.
odo-15800 kms
because of this chain hits the metal strip around front sprocket sometimes and sometimes silencer side bolt.
another problem i observed lately is that it is not going beyond 127/128 kmph, while earlier i have done 141 kmph and 135 (riding double i.e. with wife and bags etc)
although there is no drop in acceleration.
also carb is showing up i guess... coz there is a lag around 65000-7000 rpm, and then bike shoots like bullet. how much does diaphram costs??
any expert views..??
I'm no expert but as I stated previously, life of drive chain on 200NS is about 15k kms.
The uneven wear is not that uncommon on naked chains, this happens when some links stretches more than others, when this happens, you have no choice but to replace the chain sprocket. The drop in top end is due to the stretched chain, just replace it and it should be solved. Check the sprocket bearings too while you are at it. Chain replacement gonna cost around 1300 rupees together with labor, the chain kit alone costs 1209 rupees.
The life of clutch plates depends on the riding style, some gets just 15k kms but some gets upto 30k kms.
If by lag you mean "flat spot" it may be due to improper carb tuning, try tuning it before you replace the diaphragm, the part costs around 300 rupees IIRC.
Try aiming a water jet at a small hole in a wall, see how much water comes out of the other side. The air would not be able to carry much fuel since the smaller jets would be choking them.Originally posted by abhiwltya View PostI did some research and i guess that the claims that with a k&n only the air supply is increased and not the fuel supply, are a bit disguised. Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Chain should last 20,000 kms if lubricated and adjusted properly. Clutch Plates @ 15,000 KMS. Somebody is pulling your Leg. My Suzuki GS 150 has clocked 99,000 KMS and still running on original Clutch Plates. Pulsar NS 200 being liquid cooled, Clutch Plate should last moreOriginally posted by teotia001 View PostAverage life of Chain & Sprockets and Clutch plates is also 15000 KMS. Got to know this from 2 fellow riders with NS and also from Service Centre. Both of mine got replaced around 14000 kms ODO.
No Idea about diaphram..

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Guys my current Motul 5100 15w50 is 2300 Kms old, time to change ? My 2nd paid service is due early next month. I was thinking of servicing earlier.. like within a week. Should I ? Current ODO reading 8700 Kms .. Wanna go for 7100 but I'm so kanjoos (cheap xD ) I'm thinking of using 5100 for one more time. Because I have about 350ml of it left in a bottle. Getting just 1 ltr of 5100 (cost Rs 530 ) will do the job for this service. For 7100 I'm gonna have to get buy 2 bottles ( costs Rs 700 x2) because my service center do not stock 7100 20w50.
Anyone in Delhi know a Bajaj service center which stock Motul 7100 20w50 and use it for 200NS with pleasure ? how much do they charge for Oil change using Motul

Sent from my Micromax A110Q using xBhp Connect mobile appIt won't stall and will move when clutch is just slightly released. but only when the bike's engine is hot enough. then it surely doesn't stallOriginally posted by mutatedknutz View Postno it will stall if you wont give enough gas
if you change your front sprocket to 13t then you can easily roll by slowly releasing the clutch and with out giving gas, just like duke200

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Second, did you mean to say third service? You can go for 5100 this time, but wait till the date of servicing to change oil. Whatever oil you buy, get 15w50 instead of 20w50, the former performs better during winter season. You can ride for 5000 kms with Motul 5100 so no need to change oil now.Originally posted by broken87 View PostGuys my current Motul 5100 15w50 is 2300 Kms old, time to change ? Re: Pulsar 200 NS
I meant to say my actual 5th service. 3 free services done, last one was 1st paid. this will be 2nd paid. And I didn't know we could ride 5k Kms on Motul 5100.. you sure about that ? Everyday I redline most of the time till I hit about 80-90 Kmph. Wouldn't that sort of riding reduce the usability of my current engine oil ? Hence the bike is kinda asking for fresh Motul engine oil.Originally posted by Cleaner View PostSecond, did you mean to say third service? broken87 You have to redline 200NS to hit 80-90 kmph?
If my math is correct it should reach 90 kmph around 6K RPM at 6th gear. 5th service at 8700 kms? service interval is 5000 kms AFAIK. Motul. You surely are one hell of a confusing guy. The oil does become degraded with constant ripping but still the oil should last at least 3000 kms considering it is imported semi-synthetic oil.

Not 5k kms, only 2.5-3kmax kms .Originally posted by broken87 View PostI meant to say my actual 5th service. 3 free services done, last one was 1st paid. this will be 2nd paid. Red line, yes it ain't bad but do affect oil, engine etc, but then again if we ride sane, wtf 23.5bhp for. .? Ride fast BUT with sanity in your head.
Don't worry about engine oil, it's just 500bucks, if it wasn't for speed and thrill, why would we buy a 1 lac bike. .?
If you can't get motul you want, then go for service and deny for changing oil, come out buy it from some DEALER, change yourself or ask a outside mechanic.simple

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
no, i meant to say I enjoy accelerating real hard to reach 60+ kmph at every stop and go.. till I hit 80-90 kmph. Which is the speed I'm usually comfortable with. Once I attain my desired speed by revving up high, I do change gears to 5th ang 6th to bring down the RPMs. Only because riding NS on higher revs is alot of fun. Don't have the confidence to maintain speeds above 80-90 Kmph for long. But it's because of the unpredicatable roads we have. Anything pops up on the road anywhere plus traffic conditions. And there are times where I just ride between 3k-4.5k rpms on 5th and 6th gear.Originally posted by Cleaner View Post@broken87 You have to redline 200NS to hit 80-90 kmph? yes u say it all correctly. and i was thinking the same, max 3k Kms on 5100 should be acceptable. 5k Kms seems like stretching too far. AFAIK denying for changing oil at the service totally voids your warranty.Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostNot 5k kms, only 2.5-3kmax kms .

@all
Does duke body cover covers the 200ns totally? I want to buy one.
