Also, don't try to over-tighten the bolts. That would do way more damage (to the threads).
Let others members comment on this.

Also, the shifts should not be hard. Let the oil settle in by doing more kms and see if they improve.
And I am no sir mate just a noob like you.
Those who provide knowledge IS a guru, no matter what age. .
And tightening is done.
Still leaking..
Should I have that cap opened and reinserted again..? That means taking out oil again and putting it back in..?

Got coolant leakage and took it to the bajaj asvc and they the coolant pipe has to be replaced and that wouldn't be considered under warranty. My concern is it isn't a wear or tear part and has to be covered under warranty, please drop in your suggestions. Thinking of sending a mail to bajaj regarding this.

Thanks the compliment

Try posting this query in Engine Oil Thread. you would get more accurate replies there.
I can't comment on this as i have never faced this problem.

Ride safe and have fun.

As per my knowledge pipes and tubes are wear and tear items. So should be charged.

But if your bike is new and the tubes had premature wear then can be changed under warranty.

Anyway mail Bajaj , you needn't worry about their reply.

Guys my bike is leaking engine oil, right from the day I switched to motul 3100 gold 20w50. Does this oil have tendency to leak. .? Specifically leaking from the bolts of that round cap where oil filter is inserted. I had the both nuts tightened just to check but still it's leaking.
Leak is like 2-4 drops below that area when I drive for like 500m, also I see some minute oil film at the joining of both engine blocks in bottom sir
Also my gear shifting is not what I expected from motul, even gear shifting on dtsi oil was much smoother, when it was new
2500 kms on odo, on motul I've done only max 40kms
UPDATE- no oil leak when bike is in standstill, not even a drop from anywhere, confirmed by placing a napkin below and no trace of oil.also I forget to mention.I had cleaned my engine by some vacuum machine (shopkeeper had it) and then pour about 1.35 to 1.4 litre of oil. Bike is 200ns
I'm in total depression, please help.
I have seen that on my friend's 200NS too, happens when the bolts are not torqued properly or the filter is not installed properly. Also check the amount of oil in the bike, the 1.35 liter seems high to me. Check how much oil was drained out, it must be 1.35 liter or you have put more oil than needed, so it is leaking. Wait a couple of minutes, I will check the service manual and update this post with the torque values of the oil filter nuts.
A vacuum of engine oil will still leave some old oil inside and I guess with the new 1.35 liter oil it got overfilled.
By "the joining of both engine blocks" do you mean the cylinder gasket or the crankcase joint?

Sorry for replying late, I'm busy building a house so I get online not that often.

EDIT: Looks like I found your problem, it will be solved now, I'm quite sure. They have not replaced the oil filter O' ring while changing engine oil. You need to drain the oil currently in the bike, remove the oil filter and replace the oil filter O' ring.
The part number or the O' ring is JG571016 and the price is 5 rupees and 70 paise. You may wanna buy 10 pieces of it just to have a peace of mind, gonna cost 57 bucks only. I suggest you ride with this leaking problem for some kilometers and then change it, but considering how much you love your bike (I remember you replaced the fairing after the fall for just a few minor scratches) I guess you are going to do it right away.

I'm not someone from whom you should take advises but please do the oil change by yourself from now on. Follow the tutorial here http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...tml#post947388 but please replace the O' ring every time you change oil and wipe out the the oil filter housing.

Here I have added the picture of the aforementioned O' ring in the parts manual for your convenience. The required part is enclosed in red circle.

BTW the torque value of the drain bolt is 0.9 to 1.1 Kgm and the torque value of the oil filter cap bolts is 1.0 to 1.2 Kgm.

On a lighter note, I'm still a little bit pissed at you over the bicycle comment

I'm thinking of having filter removed and again pouring oil and then closing casing again

Try tilting your bike to left and then open oil filter. You may not have to drain.

Leakage from the oil filter cover will happen only if it is not seated properly.
Open the cover > clean the cover for any dirt with clean cloth> also clean the area where its seated> There is a rubber gasket on the cover which should be good and well seated. This gasket can be main cause of leakage.

And yes you got it right, I'm die hard caring possessive lover of my bike. After accident, I straightaway went to service centre while blood was dropping from my palms and I was like, repair my bike first, aid comes later for me.

If you can make your lie completely on its left side. Then I can confirm.

If you do this, please do it pyaarse so that you don't get scratches on your bike.

I completely agree with Cleaner post.

Ride in this condition keep checking oil regularly till next service.

I too had this problem earlier but engine oil never dipped and later on it healed itself automatically.
Btw am on motul 7100.

Hard shifts might be due to high viscosity oil in this winter season. Or let the oil settle well. Drive 20-40kms and see.

Better than stock design. Am waiting for 200ss to launch, just because i want to use it's number plate holder. And replace the odd looking one that we have which makes the whole bike look bad from back
