Thanks for clarification, BTW does the headlamp get brighter on 200NS when you rev up the engine? I thought it had DC lighting.
yes, it gets slightly brighter if one looks closely. In my bike I found the headlamp is dimmer than it used to be when idling. or brighter when revved.

Dying battery? Maybe the RR is faulty.

No!
1. Its common in all the NS.
2. Electrical system is DC in NS
3. Its' Probably done to save battery consumption while the engine idles.

Ideally it shouldn't happen in a DC mechanism. Idling or revving at red line, the intensity should be EXACTLY the same and not flickering. Minute changes are fine, but if one says that the HL brightens up after revving, then its time he looked into the Regulator & Rectifier or the alternator if the battery is fine. Else, check for battery connections.

It is NOT normal.

NS has a big enough stator to take the load of even 130/100 bulb, the reflector will melt though. The battery is adequate enough too (8Ah). There is no way a RR would lower the current to headlamp to save power unless the RR is getting low current itself. Somebody should try a Duke's RR with NS, Duke does not dim the bulb when in low rev.
psr ji we need your expertise here.

IMHO not enough power is generated at the stator at low revs so it happens but the stator is supposed to be very powerful.

Anybody with a 200NS and a multimeter ready to do some simple test?

First turn everything off on the bike, including the engine and and ignition, check and note down the voltage you are getting at battery terminals.

Now let the engine idle and turn on all the lights, indicators too and put the headlamp on high beam. Now check the voltage across the battery terminals, if it has gone up, there is enough power and the battery is getting charged, if it has gone down, the battery is being discharged. Now rev up the engine a little and note at how much rev the voltage across the terminal increases, if it's around (the lesser the better) 2k to 2.5 RPM it is okay but anything more than that, the stator is not producing enough juice and hence low output.

Its definitely not flickering or as we see in AC mechanism. It is actually a very minute dimming of the light and becomes normal just above the idling rpm. Dont know much about electrical stuff but i have observed this in all the NS i have seen.

I feel it is to conserve the battery power while the engine idles.
No battery or RR issues faced so far (bike is more than a year old and has done approx 15,000kms).

Guys pls confirm if clockwise is rich and antilockwise lean because some pervious post on afr made me confuse.

Also I think afr is located to deep, and having trouble in turning it so I'm thinking
of using a spoon

Ah, I don't recommend overhauling brake calipers if you are new to it. Maybe just remove the brake pads and blast with waterjet.

Clockwise is lean, counterclockwise is rich, it's a fuel screw. You can remove the side panels to get better access to the carb screws I think. You can buy long Flathead screwdriver for like 30 rupees. It would be hard to keep count of turns with a spoon.
mods add the above to the first post please, tired of explaining. Thanks to that photo that showed the wrong directions turning the AFR screw.

Guys today for the first time experienced that power lack band which exist between 4-5k rpm when I first started the bike. Happened first time in entire ownership of 6months and 2250kms. Now possible reason can be the standing of bike from 6 days. ..can it be..? Also after a couple of kms, that lack of power range vanished. Any suggestions?
