Even the full servicing of ns costs only 250, what the phack then 300 is for chain stuff. ..?

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
@Anuj_Gupta Somebody got scammed maybe. Do not think that SVCs are there to help, they are just making a business and not all SVC owners are kind gentleman/lady.
@princesirohi If removing the side panels and the gas tank is too much of work, then I do not know what would it take to replace wheel bearings. One thing, getting access to air filter of 200NS may be a little more complicated but since it is paper filter, one does not need to wash and lubricate it with oil. Just use compressed air and done.
I do not know about others but a guy like me can not afford to spend 500 rupees every 3 months to maintain a 1,200 rupees thing which will need to be replaced after like a year or so anyway. I am going with used engine oil, others can use whatever they want. I clean my bicycle chain after like 5000 kilometers religiously and lubricate like every 500 kms with used engine oil, earlier when I was young, I mean very young like in fourth grade, I used mustard oil to lubricate it as I did not have access to engine oil at that time. I'm still using the same chain and have clocked over 1.5 lakh kilometers on that chain.
@teotia001 Do not use grease on O' ring chains, the grease will not lubricated the rollers and may cause the rubber O' rings to swell or get deformed.
The acceleration problem is due to slightly lean AFR, I have seen this happen often in my career as a roadside mechanic, every winter people come, especially girls with their bikes/scooter stalling in morning when throttled. It is due to lean AFR I just screw/unscrew depending on whether the carburetor has air or fuel screw and it is fixed instantly.
People would tell you a lot about mileage, most overestimate it, things take a U turn depending on scenario though, ask a friend "Kitni deti hain?" he will boost the figures, now ask the same guy for lift and now inquire about mileage, the figure would drop considerably
Our dear @MG sir has done extensive test of the Pulsar 200NS, you may ask him about the mileage of the bike, IIRC he claims a mileage of 35-38 kmpl if ridden sanely and around 30 kmpl if ripped.
No need to change oil now, the Bajaj oil is not that bad as people makes it out to be. Change to Motul 5100 15w50 on the second service. Do not get the oil changed at Bajaj ASC, buy the engine oil and the engine oil filter yourself and get it changed by a outside mechanic. SVC may force you to use the Bajaj oil claiming using other engine oil will void the warranty.Originally posted by pratikthereddevil View Posthey guys.. i have done 1900 km odo, i had changed my oil at first servicing at around 550 km ..sticked with bajaj oil at the first oil changed ...should i now change my oil again ...I am planing to switch to motul as i am experiencing some harshness in my bike above 5 rpm...guys pls suggest which motul oil should i switch to Motul 3100 or motul 5100 semi synthetic at this point of time or something else?? and has any body heard of nulon oil additives is it advisable to put it along with the engine oil as my brother has suggested me to put it at every oil change he is using it in his enfield thunderbird ...has anybody here has used it in NS...pls guys reply
Oil additives are just snake oil, they do not help anything, they just ruin the engine, never ever put any petrol or engine oil additive in your bike. Tell your brother not to use engine oil additive on his bike or his engine will get ruined sooner tan expected.I am back!

any specific reason then for the harshness i am noticing above 5 rpm, and as said my brother said that he is using nulon oil additives for more then 5 yrs now and the engine is still as good as a new one so he was just advising me for the same...arent they helpfull for smoothening the engine?Originally posted by Cleaner View Post@Anuj_Gupta Somebody got scammed maybe. Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Full clutch assembly, 4 valves, timing chain, 3 spark plugs, new motul motocool expert coolant, new master cylinder kit on front, new brake fluids and all gaskets changed and all components washed thoroughly... clutch and throttle cable changed too....along with one more HID. bike smoother than before... but still the rpm dropping very slowly and getting stuck problem is still there... dont know what is wrong... just this one problem bugging me from a long time... now its evident that valves and timing chain were absolutely alright...changing them was of no need. problem is something else... bike as good as new otherwise... anyone with proper knowledge, i want some help... btw notice the very very less carbon content on the piston... there was no carbon whatsoever inside...evem spark pkugs after 20k kms of abuse were clean..opened the carb for the first time and again....its sqeaky clean....is this really normal...? dont think its normal..

Please Give your bike a PUC check and post the results here. Also please post your usage pattern and the FE that you get usually.

I just used motul in my ns 12 hours ago,MY GOD what a difference, now even if my warranty gets void, I.D.G.A.F.Originally posted by pratikthereddevil View Posthey guys.. i have done 1900 km odo, i had changed my oil at first servicing at around 550 km ..sticked with bajaj oil at the first oil changed ...should i now change my oil again ...I am planing to switch to motul as i am experiencing some harshness in my bike above 5 rpm...guys pls suggest which motul oil should i switch to Motul 3100 or motul 5100 semi synthetic at this point of time or something else?? and has any body heard of nulon oil additives is it advisable to put it along with the engine oil as my brother has suggested me to put it at every oil change he is using it in his enfield thunderbird ...has anybody here has used it in NS...pls guys reply
I used this can, 20w50 technosynthetic, costs 350/ litre
Now I get it, people complaining about low performance, ass kicking vibes and crap bajaj bikes, guys,IT WASNT BAJAJ, IT IS THAT DTSI CRAP OIL. which is even costlier than premium motul
Dtsi oil 1.2 litre-473 rupes
Motul3100 gold 20w50 1.2 L-420 ruppes
Motul 3100 15w50 1.2 L- 322 rupees

.
(2) even if it is original, bajaj dtsi oil is not very good oil and will not last after 2000 kms of usage. considering NS is a liquid cooled engine it may last another 500 kms, but it wont last more than 2500 kms. so its better to get it changed before next servicing which will be after 5000 kms. you can opt for motul 5100 oil. pretty good oil and lasts 5000 kms.
(1) you need to understand that replacing wheel bearings has its own labour charge and the question of paper filter or sponge filter is not an issue coz once you have it in your hand both needs approx. same amount of time for cleaning at a service center. btw, just count the number of nut bolts you need to open to change reach wheel bearing as compared to the number of bolts you need to open to reach an NS air filter and you will understand the situation, not to mention 2-3 pipes and the amount of time required to refit it properly.Originally posted by Cleaner View Post.......@princesirohi If removing the side panels and the gas tank is too much of work, then I do not know what would it take to replace wheel bearings. (2) affordability is a different issue, if you buy a 1 lakh rupee bike you need money to maintain it.
(3) plz dont compare a bicycle chain with a motorcycle chain (that too an O-ring open chain)
you have an odometer on your bicycle ..??
oil additives are a nice topic of debate, but for the time being --- you dont need and oil additive on a new bike and if using a very good quality oil like motul etc.Originally posted by pratikthereddevil View Post....and has any body heard of nulon oil additives is it advisable to put it along with the engine oil as my brother has suggested me to put it at every oil change he is using it in his enfield thunderbird ...has anybody here has used it in NS...pls guys reply
oil manufacturing companies know much more than you and me and if that oil additive is really good, wouldn't they premix it in oil and then sell it even if it increases the cost little bit.
oil additives MAY BE useful in old engines and cheaper oils. not for you my friend.
what exactly is the problem bro... plz explain in detail.Originally posted by Rahulbarik View PostFull clutch assembly, 4 valves, timing chain, 3 spark plugs, new motul motocool expert coolant, new master cylinder kit on front, new brake fluids and all gaskets changed and all components washed thoroughly... clutch and throttle cable changed too....along with one more HID. bike smoother than before... but still the rpm dropping very slowly and getting stuck problem is still there... dont know what is wrong... just this one problem bugging me from a long time... now its evident that valves and timing chain were absolutely alright...changing them was of no need. problem is something else... bike as good as new otherwise... anyone with proper knowledge, i want some help... btw notice the very very less carbon content on the piston... there was no carbon whatsoever inside...evem spark pkugs after 20k kms of abuse were clean..opened the carb for the first time and again....its sqeaky clean....is this really normal...? dont think its normal..

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
TVS Chain lube = last price i remember Rs 335. A great VFM product.. somebody long ago mentioned this name here. I didn't believe but truly this chain lube lasts way longer than you'd expect. You'll find out only if u try it. No need to go for Motul chain lube here. Instead get it's chain cleaner.
The reason for getting a proper chain lube and Motul chain cleaner which to me costed about 335 + 4?? = Rs 750 or so more than a year back.. is that it makes the chain cleaning/lubing far far more easier. quicker and does prolong your chain life. Improves ride quality, smoother shifts etc. In these days where you get Rs 500 worth of 6.3 ltr petrol which only lasts for about 250+ Kms.. I think we can very well afford a Rs 750 VFM package for chain maintenence because it makes a great difference to ur ride. try it. TVS chain lube
@Rahulbarik
arey Rahul bhai kahan the. how's ur ride ? the RPM dropping slowly during deceleration is something I also experience.. probably not as much as u do. never gets stuck.
btw, motul 3100 20w50 semi synth (Rs 350) and motul 5100 15w50 semi synth (Rs 500+).. what's the difference besides the price difference and viscosity ? do they provide similar lubrication ??Last edited by broken87; 01-04-2014, 04:04 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
My bajaj dtsI oil was seal packed and brought from a known dealer, it showed aging after 700kms and on 1300 kms, it literally gave up, neutrals, gear slip, vibes never felt before in petrol tank assembly and handlebar.after that, enough was enough.
edit- finding motul in Delhi was a hard task, especially in EASt DELHI,but I found one shop
BHARAT OILS ,NEAR TANGA(HORSE CHAROIT,used by basanti in sholay) STAND ,GEETA COLONY.
the owner uncle was so full of knowledge that he even.knew about type, requirements and all stuff about engine oil of Aeroplanes.
Never seen such a warming, straight forward, honest shopkeeper in my life.Last edited by Anuj_Gupta; 01-04-2014, 04:23 PM.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
sounds like it really was genuine bajaj dtsi 10,000 kms oil :P motul doesn't void warranty.. run ur machine real hard on motul and discover it's great lubircating power.Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostMy bajaj dtsI oil was seal packed and brought from a known dealer, it showed aging after 700kms and on 1300 kms, it literally gave up, neutrals, gear slip, vibes never felt before in petrol tank assembly and handlebar.after that, enough was enough

what exactly is the problem bro... plz explain in detail.
Anant here is the puc check done yesterday only....
The problem is that wheneer the bike is heated up enough, the rpm drops very very slowly....and sometimes get stuck at 2-2.5k.... from 5k to 3k it takes a bit more time to come down than other ns, and from 3k onwards till idling it takes ages... yeserday it took 10 secs from 3k to 2.2k and then 15 minutes to come down from 2.2k to 1.5k idling... i kept it like that to check... i ride very very agressively with redlining most times... used to get mileage of 45 kmpl under normal riding, amd 38 under agressive... my clutch was fully worn out so i was etting like 35 unser sane and 29-30 unser insane for last 3 months... changed all yesterday... mileage i am yet to meausre but going by the fuel gauge mileage is definately up but have to check exact measure.... from yesterday i am riding absolutely sensibly till the valves set in properly..plan to ride sanely for 1000 kms... have 800 kms one day ride tomorrow so run-in of the new valves and other things will be done i guess... let me know if you need any more info... amd btw my bike used to shoot like a rocket at any gear any rpm and had insane power and was much more free before i changed the clutch, valves and all these...all the ns owners here said the same thing that it had a burst if power anywhere on the revv range... now the bike has also changed... that insane power is gone amd it pulling slower....and nit so free anymore...

Re: Pulsar 200 NS
Update on motul 3000 gold
Vibrations on speeds of 100km/hr are now as same as they used to be on speeds of 30 km/hr on bajaj oil.
When bike is cold (I mean when bike is ridden after a day) gear shifting is Very very little bit unusual, but as bike gets a little bit hotter, my God, it's a babe ( I think it's because of 20w50 grade performance in winter)
