  • Re: Cylinder head mod

This is my 4th month and 5k more in odo after getting my NS mod done from race concepts. After the mod, my bike is having more responses in all rpms and is so quickly accelerating after 4k rpm. Till date am not facing any problems and is so happy with Joel's work. Feeling proud to tell I got the quickest NS as far as I know
    Mods done.
    1. Cylinder hear work.
    2. Simota replacement panel filter.
    3. Mikuni bigger size carburetor.
Change in bhp : approximately +3 from Joel's calculations

How much did the entire mod cost?

That makes your 200NS first with Joels mods in this thread. My reaction was same as yours when I got my P220 Joeled. The best part is you got everything done from him. Now dont let any outside mech touch the setting.

Other 200 NS's be careful to drag with this one. This one sure has a sting in its tail.

Hi Vishnu , was waiting for review on ns mods . can you please share more details on performance front. I know the changes after mods may not be described in words ( me being owner of p230 modded by joel previously)

I currently own 200ns. And need your inputs on improvements in low end torque and throttle response through out rev range. Specially the lazy feel in final gear ..
Also can you let us know the carb size and how it is better compared to stock response wise.

I don't know how much to explain it in technical manner. The changes that am feeling after mod is that it's not having any delay between opening throttle and rpm hitting the 11k mark. Not at all sluggish in any part of the rpms. But the real feel starts after 4k.

The carb using now is 1mm bigger that the stock one. 6th gear still the same. Planning for a shorter gearing with sprocket change so that there won't be any lagging in 6th gear also. Top end reduction I can bare since 130 will be more than enough on Indian roads and conditions.
I believe in the concept how quick you are, not how fast you are.

It's true. After riding his did I realise, this can give the CBR nightmares.

Finally I got the chance to undergear my NS and I did. I used karizma's 13T front sprocket. Acceleration is better, easier to ride in the city, hits the rev-limiter in 6th gear but way too undergeared for highways for my liking. I'm looking for the chance to have a drag with a stock geared NS to see the effect of the venture, i.e if it's too undergeared or perfect.
Cost for the mod: 140 + 40 fitting charges.

Anyone looking to eliminate their tuning issues, visit Joel at Race Concepts, Bangalore. I've heard he's a master of tuning, one of the best in the country. His tuning and replacement parts give our humble NS enough power to give the CBR250R a scare in acceleration, while maintaining stock reliability. I'm saving up!

Now I am really sorry about a non Bangalore living !!!!!!!!

Now I am on about 10K on ODO & planned to give for service tomorrow

Maybe you ride with your leg pressed on the brake lever involuntarily.
May be due to his style of riding.
Many of our members had exclaimed about my tire mileage, which was too short.
Some one even ask me "have you ever tried wheel burning?" !!!!
It was only due to my excessive style of riding

This will reduce your fuel mileage drastically, right?

Exactly the reason why I tried it. I wanna see how drastically that would affect the mileage.
My observations: Top speed: Speedo indicated 136 km/h and it hits the rev limiter in 6th as I said. I'm doing a mileage check right now and I will post an update soon.
Want a new tire? Look for Dunlop Tuff Grip 140/70 or MRF revz-s 130/70. They're the best I've seen for this bike.

This is regarding the back pain I've been having riding my NS. Nothing turned up in the Medical report. Doctor says my Back is fine as it should be. Some ointment and medcines prescribed for the pain. Also advised me to improve my diet as I'm skinny.
Misalligned forks could be the culprit as told to me few days back by username @Seamus. I've yet to get it checked. Im lazy as well as afraid to hand over my bike to the SVC. I can't believe if this pain is really due to misalligned front forks. It's definitely worth a look.
Got a question, how important is it to ride sanely in the first few Kms everyday? Even after I get the oil circulating by idling for a minute before ride ? Cos it's difficult to resist.
Been itching to pop a Clutch Wheelie in 1st gear, so 2 days back I had a late night session. But later felt so guilty lol.. especially cos it all ended in failure. I don't usually do this sort of stuff but mannnnn I wanna keep trying.. I just dunno if I should pursue this goal, wheelies, All this will take a toll on my bike But you know what motivated me to even try it ? This post by @Rahulbarik lool. Looking at his post and trusted word, it appears that NS' engine is really durable enough and can definitely take alot of Clutch abuse.
Btw, How many of you guys rev match downshift ? or just downshift like tak tak tak without matching revs.

Is it not possible to shift gear from Neutral to 1st when Engine is OFF? I observed its only possible if I start the Engine. Is this the way this bike gear box is? Pls clarify.
