It depends, it isn't a problem as such, and sometimes, all gears will slot in and some times it won't it's just the clutch doing it's job.

@ aditya, personally undergearing the 200 NS is practically superfluous, personally. But overgearing it for highway is a brilliant stuff, as it just goes on and on and on. But you've done it, keep us posted on the drag. Oh boy, I'm hearing so many *drag* in the threads I visit.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END

I'm looking for the chance to have a drag with a stock geared NS to see the effect of the venture, i.e if it's too undergeared or perfect.
Cost for the mod: 140 + 40 fitting charges.

Just move your bike slightly forward and it should slot in 1st gear when in engine is OFF. afaik gears in a motorcycle are meant to be shifted when the bike is in movement.

Which brand & Model
No one replayed
Now my tire is just like our favorite Home Minister's Head
Sorry, no offense. I am also belonging to him
I am using my 3rd rear tire now... stock, then revz-s from r15v2 and now zapper q from cbr 150.. all stock sizes... stock tires are extremely good on brokem roads and offroads but lacks feedback and skids when you go bang from 6th to 3rd and enter tight L type corners at high speeds hanging from your bike for your dear life where you need to drift your rear out...but this EUROSLIP tyres instead starts slipping rather than skidding and gives you goosebumps....
Now coming to revz-s, this is a tyre made to attack corners like a pro... yes it drifts, spins and skids midcorner when u accelerate out on full gas and thats what make this tyre so special... its a dream on highways and good roads but simply gives up once there is sand and and wet grip is strictly below average... its not a city daily use tyre... the good thing about this tyre is, it suits the ns chasis and make the bike a real dream to ride... the tyre makes the bike extreamely planted at high speeds and very good feedback from the tyres with superb straight line stability and a very plated feel... braking is extremely good with this tyre and even if it locks up, it never ever fishtails.. it will rather go straight while locked... conclusion is, if you are a purebred hooligan like me and like to ride on the edge with exploiting the maximum out of the chasis, then its the tyre for you... i used this tyre for 17k kms before i changed them... it used to skid by then but the skidding was even very much controlled... and finally there is a myth surrounding this tyre that it gets punctuted... trust me, i got just 3 punctures in 17k kms and there is not a single kind of terrain where i did not ride... did lots of off roads on steep mountain rocks, silky smooth highways to jet ski-ing at 70kmph in knee deep sea water... and this is my favourite tyre... another thing is the ride becomes bumpy with this tyre. another thing is it makes the bike less flickable but in turn increases stability... and this tyre along with the zapper fx at front shows the true potential of the chasis
Now the zapper q... a strictly city tyre... does everything 50% and fairs really well for day to day use and its good on bad roads too... high speed stability is strictly okay and cornering though better than stock is no where close to the revz-s... in short, u cant ride
on the edge... you got to be careful about what you are doing and cant be too depended on the tyre... average feedback and nice braking but fishtails once locked... tis tyre is for part time hooligans...
NOTE: i also run zapper fx at front... (fz front tyre) with both the rear... and it gives a average feel in ns regarding front braking though works really good in fz...
My next set will be a PSD at rear with a michelin piot sporty at front.. which will be coming around next year january
Hope it helps you :-)

Practically the mileage will increase and not decrease.... it will increase by a good margin in city and decrease in highway... it will reduce the load on the engine in city amd increase the load in highway. and tuff grip is a really good tyre if you are tourer, but if you are into serious stuffs then it will create trouble coz of the tyre design..

Misalligned forks could be the culprit as told to me few days back by username @Seamus. I've yet to get it checked. Im lazy as well as afraid to hand over my bike to the SVC. I can't believe if this pain is really due to misalligned front forks. It's definitely worth a look.
Got a question, how important is it to ride sanely in the first few Kms everyday? Even after I get the oil circulating by idling for a minute before ride ? Cos it's difficult to resist.
Been itching to pop a Clutch Wheelie in 1st gear, so 2 days back I had a late night session. But later felt so guilty lol.. especially cos it all ended in failure. I don't usually do this sort of stuff but mannnnn I wanna keep trying.. I just dunno if I should pursue this goal, wheelies, All this will take a toll on my bike But you know what motivated me to even try it ? This post by @Rahulbarik lool. Looking at his post and trusted word, it appears that NS' engine is really durable enough and can definitely take alot of Clutch abuse.
Btw, How many of you guys rev match downshift ? or just downshift like tak tak tak without matching revs.
Haha.. lol
Dont know about anyone but i for instance match rpm and shift
when i am in angel mode and just go from 6th to 2nd with speeds around 75 with the rear wheel hopping and sliding and run when i am in devil mode... :-D its so fun... and trust me the ns engine is an awesome piece of engineering and can take a whole lot of abuse and still wont protest... first hand experience.... :-)

Actually i overgeared my ns long time back and trust me its pathetic... its lifeless... no torque anywhere, only saving grace was starting from the middle of 3rd gear till just before the 4th gear ends... it does not go even close to the redline in 6th whereas with the stock gearing the ns redlines at 6th gear... the most pathetic thing was when you leave te clutch in first gear...its so lifeless...no torque...worse with a pillion... engine heating up a lot due to excess load on the engine and city mileage dropped a lot... good thing was highway mileage increased and cruising was bliss on open roads due to approx 400 rpm lesser at the same speeds.... btw i was using only one teeth less on rear... a 38 teeth... :-)

No it isn't superfluous actually. This engine deserves aggressive short gearing. Stock gearing itself is pretty tall. The addition of this 13T front sprocket has made overtaking on the highway much easier in 6th, which is necessary for me, since the highways going away from Mysore are usually pretty packed up.
Still haven't had a chance to drag.

1. I'm hoping things turn out that way. Right now, acceleration is crazy. And highway overtakes are very easy. Filled 500 bucks worth petol. Let's see, if I get 200 kms off it, I'll be happy.

2. I second that, though I've never ridden an overgeared NS, it's apparent. Stock NS is already overgeared more than what it deserves to a fair bit.

Edit: I hadn't observed correctly before. Top speed is 145 and not 136, speedo indicated. I can touch that without crouching (maybe also coz I'm small)

I still haven't heard of an even slightly, long term review, of a FFE on the 200NS. I heard ghost riders use Leo Vince and I am positive having an FFE on this bike it will sound monstrous. Any reviews yet? Anybody?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

About the over gearing and going on and on, after 140kmph, it's a nightmare for NS. Aerodynamics and stability will be the least after that point. So over gearing and trying to attain more speed will put you in danger as well as drastic loss in initial pickup which is a must in Indian condition, especially when trying to escape from signal to signal

Grz use custom build exhaust for sound and getting a little more clearance in the bottom as far as I know. And no one had tried a full system special designed for ns exhaust I guess. Leo Vince is waste for us since it's just a slip on and max gain will be 0.5bhp with a loud sound

keep us updated on city mileage.. 145 without crouching is quite high... mayne because of the shorter gearing... so basically you are now running the same gear ratios of te duke 200...

its scary as hell and attempting 140+ without a life insurance is stictly not adviced.... basically i overgeared to lessen the load on the engine on highways so tht it spins slower at the same speed.... but now i am back to stock... stock zindabad....

some one ramped it by mistake or purpose, idk.
and the rear left side was hit, saree guard and number plate was bent. and the bike fell over on the other bike parked next to it(i guess) and the front brakes got jammed and a big scratch on the right side just below where 200ns is written.
i went to the mechanic, got my brakes fixed. he opened something and hit the brake pads with hammer slightly
and then the brake had little less bite, but it was all fine.
then today again the brakes suddenly got jammed :@ that too in a place where theres no mechanic, i had to call and get one to fix my bike.
whats the issue with the brakes? :/ can any one tell me
never met with an accident, and feels sad and angry at the same time that the bike was damaged by some other person :@

Dont hammer your brain on that. it is just because the mechanic you took it to hit it with hammer. go to svc. pretend to not know about what the issue was. dont explain why someone hammered the brake pads(if it is not the svc mech who hammered your brakes). they will fix it for sure.

the calipers must have got jammed.

its scary as hell and attempting 140+ without a life insurance is stictly not adviced.... basically i overgeared to lessen the load on the engine on highways so tht it spins slower at the same speed.... but now i am back to stock... stock zindabad....

An update guys. Managed 220 kms for 500 bucks worth petrol. At 77.00 per litre, that translates to 34 km/l, 1km/l less than my previous average. All this in a mix of all sorts of riding conditions - B2B traffic, highway cruising at 8k rpm, potholed roads, normal empty city street rips, casual slow riding at 50 km/h, etc. But the majority of it has been short bursts.
Very happy with this setup, I'm gonna keep it for life.
Rahulbarik, I'm running exactly the same ratios as duke: 42/14 which is equal to 39/13.
Gotta love duke. It still accelerates better.
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.
