  • Re: Pulsar 200 NS

Update: This morning I thumbed the starter and wow. The engine isn't starting. Great. Somehow, managed to start the engine later after many cranks and took it straight to the ASC. The service executive first showed his NS, started it and said, see the idle is varying in mine too. I said, you idiot, I meant after the bike warms up! So he took to another 220, started it and yet again the idle variation. I told him, the idle at warm before would NOT vary. It would stick on to 1.5k rpm like FI. And then he said ok, I'll get it checked. Then he noticed that something was loose near the carb, pressed it and it fit right in. After that, a slight bit of tuning helped bring everything back to normal.
Finally, back to being problem free (I hope)

And then he said the most absurd thing ever. "After the engine gets cold again, set the idle to 1.5". Did he think I was a noob?
Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity.

Guys my bike is stalling after self start and I hav to give a little gas to keep it going. When I observed carefully I saw the rpm needle is howering near to 0 rpm. I guess the slow speed is set low. How can I set it correctly? And what rpm should I set it to?

        Guys,
My NS is 2months old now.. Exact 2months old...

        Have done 1.8k km odo...

Bike feels so smooth now than it was on 1.5k km odo...
Am following the ride in period as mentioned in the manual...

Planning to Change my Engine oil to Motul 5100 at 2k km...

Also Planned to change front brake lines to steel braided..
Is 220F steel braided lines a direct fit for our NS?

Also can i use the Duke 200 rear brake lines on our NS? is it Possible???

Need some valuable advice on it...

        each lines cost around 1100...

Steel Braided lines do not expand and the hydraulic pressure created is much higher as compared to the normal rubber brake lines (though steel brake lines also expand but with a very very negligible margin). So, automatically with Steel braided lines, the bite from the brake setup is quite strong.

Changing to steel braided lines won't void your warranty, if anyone at the SVC says so, that's simply bull crap and nothing less. The cost for good pair of steel braided line (front and rear) would be somewhere in the range of 700 - 1000 bucks. This is how the steel braided front brake line looks on my NS

Remember that it's of paramount importance that the fitment of the brake lines are done by a specialist because braking needs very fine calibration and immense temperament to calibrate as the margin of error is too small here.

Sorry for bumping a old post...

Am planning to change my brake lines to steel braided... As you have changed yours front and back to steel braided..
can i know the model no of them?

        Kindly let me know asap...

You could have bought it from bike shop , ls2 cost 3.5k in bike shop and if you can bargain ,they might give it for 3.2k.

Where is this bike shop that you referring to? Is that the name of a shop or just any bike shop?

Guys, does turning your afr into a high rich mixture damage your engine???

I've heard a lean mix can damage irrepairably but a rich mixture will cause carbon deposit but it be rectified by de- carbonising the engine.

I am asking cause i've tuned my bike for high rich mix for smoothness
