I had this problem of squeaking noise right after the second service. the tyre seemed like it was getting jammed (slight though) at a very particular point. I bleeded the lines a little for any air, that didnt help. Then one day i removed the entire rear tyre assembly, cleaned up the brake pads, removed the old brake fluid completly and put in DOT4 brake fluid and properly bleeded it for any air bubbles. Now no noise from the rear coming.

According to me if the noise is coming from a particular portion of the disc then it could be one of the following:

    a. rear tyre is not aligned properly
    b. disc is not perfect
    c. dirty pads
    d. air bubbles in the line

Try the above and see if it works.

yesterday i sat down to on the small small vibrations that came out of the console area.

I stripped down the entire headlight assembly and fixed small pieces of white sponge like plastics (the one that is used to pack electronic items) using rubber glue (the one used by cobblers). Now all the vibrations from the front are gone completely.

Now there is only place that i can hear vibrations coming at around 3500 rpm and i pinned the source to the petrol cap. When i press the cap the vibration goes. It was too late for me to open the cap and do some testing but does anyone give an idea of how i can fix this?

      Petrol pipe is easily accessible.
They (thieves)can pull the pipe & can take

Had been to the showroom to fix a new centre stand. The mechanic had to remove the gear lever, side stand and then fix the main stand.Quite a tedious job indeed.
Cost: 517 for the stand+ 225 for the labor....Can anyone in the group advice if changing engine oils at 250kms on the odo is necessary. Also i did read that changing the oil once before 1st service is good for the engine.
        Cheers.

No it doesn't disturbs or hits handle bar and i am using it as more of a tail bag rather then mounting on tank and it works fine both way

guys since past few weeks there is a tik tik sound coming from the handle area when riding on bumps, also when I brake sharply using the front brake there is kat kat kat sound originating from the handle area. I am not able to pin point the area the sound is coming from. Any suggestions...?? The bike has done 13k kms and the brakes have kinda lost their bite... I see that some have got steel braided lines installed, how is the feedback after them...?? Are the ones from 220 compatible with the NS as there are somewhat cheaper than the duke ones..!!

            Appreciate your valuable suggestions...

Does the DOT4 improve the rear brakes by any level?

And I've been getting this "krrrr" sound consistently near the console or under the tank, couldn't isolate it. Did yours sound exactly like it?
I tried stuffing some thermocols as mentioned in the DIY thread inside the front head panel of the console, it changed nothing.

I don't think we can do anything about the petrol tank lid, if it's the key area opening, then many be you can stuff some rubber ring shaped rubber under it.
But if it's on the side, no idea.

I cannot really compare the difference in bite between the previous brake fluid (which i think was DOT3. I am guessing since it was yellow in color) and the current DOT4 simply because i hardly use the rear break and when i use it use it a very slow speeds like under 20kmpl. But when compared to low speed breaking i do feel the feedback is instant as earlier it didnt respond well. Now i dont know whether this change is due to the cleaning up of brake pads, brake line bleeding or change of brake fluid to DOT4.

I earlier used to get much more sound krrr sounds from the console area but now only a tiny winy sound and that from the petrol tank lid. I will open it next week and then see if manage to remove the sound. The major part of the sound if anybody feels it comes from the headlight / console assembly. Its made up of several small parts which when ridden at higher rpms tend to touch each other causing the krrr sound. If i remember correctly there are around 7 separate parts that when combined together make up the complete headlight and console assembly. I have glued the foam material inbetween each and every part so that a certain gap is maintained and they do not touch each other.

220F front steel braided line is a direct fit.

Duke 200 rear steel braided line is a direct fit too.. Both carry the same caliper..

You can also use 220F front steel braided line in the rear,

Make sure you upgrade your brake fluid to DOT-4 while doing it, or else it a total waste on spending money on steel braided lines..

Total cost was around 2.9k for both front+rear+Bosch Dot4 fluid+labour...

Feedback is totally noticeable in rear..

                    Also no more squeaking noise

First Service is itself required at 500-700 Kms, so think changing oil at first service is sufficient.

Senior Folks can suggest more on this.

Per conventional process, for any engine it is "advised" to change the oil once before the first service as well. Lets assume the 1st service is at 1k km, I'd change oil at 300-400 and then again at 1k. This ensures that there are no metal shaving running around in the engine.
Of course its a debatable topic, I'd better be safe than sorry.

As you might have noticed, this problem was mention earlier in threads as well and I think no one here has found the origin of the sound or solution. for me the sound strangely vanished after a crash sometime ago. it is an irritating noise if present. the svc guys deny even hearing it.

i think it might be from the tank or somewhere near.

please let us know if you find the solution.
