Lastly, is it necessary that both front and rear sprockets also be changed when installing a new drive chain?

Btw, bike is still at the svc for the coolant engine oil mix up issue, the manager told me that repairs will be carried out under warranty but I will have to pay for the new engine oil and coolant:sly:

He's bluffing about the chain-sprocket kit. Under normal conditions it should last 20-22k kms atleast. Mine's 13k old and shows no signs of trouble. I clean and lube my chain every month. Maybe yours is a one-off case or maybe the sound would go away if properly tightened and lubed.
It's recommended to change both sprockets and the chain coz running on a bad one might affect the life of the chain as well as the new sprocket.

Thanks for the info. Will try and see if lubing and tightening solves the issue. The noise is only noticeable when the clutch is depressed fully and the bike is moving, when the clutch is engaged there is no noise.

If you are talking about the sound similar to the one that comes while riding a bicycle without pedaling then that is normal. A similar sound comes from my bike's chain as well.

Last week i bought the Motul chain clean and lube just out of curiosity and for the sake of experimenting. Though it comes for a price but the results till now have been good.

The cleaner works briliantly and the lube is enough just to keep the chain moving. I used to use EP-90 Gear oil for lubing the chain which is a good but thick oil and use to attract a lot of dirt by the end of month. Lets see how far the motul lube goes.

the sound would still be there technically if its from the chain, and i think it just needs to be properly lubed and tightened.I lube my chain when i hear the disturbances when running on clutch is engaged.after lubing you can feel the difference rightaway

Yeah it's a disaster the way the engine ends up after a few such runs. It's like asking a man to lift and hold 5 kgs of weight for one full day non stop. It looks like a small weight and that he can actually do it. But at the end of it, he'd feel like his hands would drop off
u just cant always pamper ur bike...u just need to care and love it...if a 16 bhp,37n.m TATA ACE can pull 750kg ,just by increasing the gear ratio,y can't ours just pull wheelies and stuff....if clutch plates go off u can just replace them ..it not a big problem..it is mechanical and it's meant to wear...and u can put the bike to ur full use its no problem it has lot of positive tolerances provided on all its parts...dont always worry about the problems ..if u love her u will take care of her...

by the way does the hanlebar silver piece alone costs 320rs?????

Yes. Agreed. I do ride my bike hard, much harder than anyone might advice, I use her to the fullest. But sometimes, riding slow and easing the bike around improves it's longevity.
Superbike owners don't pull wheelies everyday. They do let the bike run in it's sweet spot too. And replacing clutch plates on our bikes every 5000 kms is definitely not a big problem, but is impractical, if you aren't giving stunt shows.

Tata ace has the torque. It's DESIGNED to pull and carry weights all through it's age. But there's a huge list of other things that can be done with bikes.

Yeah the silver part costs around that much.

Yes, you have to change your chain& sprockets even after 5K Kms; If you strain your bike
otherwise it will go on for 20K Kms
My friend have done 16K on his NS & still today his chains works perfectly ...
BTW: drive chain & sprockets are to be replaced at the same time & you will get it as a comby-pack.

Guys how many of you get vibrations on the portion mentioned in the picture below, basically the entire pillion seat. Im a tall guy and I like to sit stretched over my seat, so my butt actually touches that portion of pillion seat marked below. and sometimes I get like crazy vibs there, I'm quite used to it but sometimes it's so annoying that I begin to wonder if this is only happening in my bike alone. Infact this is the annoying issue present in my bike, otherwise it's all good.

                      I had a lot of irritable vibrations @ above 4.5 K RPM
                      but, now its all negligible.
now I am on above 7.5 K ODO

                      • Upcoming First Service of my Pulsar 200 NS

My first service indicator has already flashed up on the instrument console. Wanted to know as to which oil should I use during the run in period, and also post the run in period which one is advised. Also I wanted to know what all precautions I should take while giving the bike for servicing.

Around Bombay, Thane and Navi Mumbai, which Bajaj SVC has a good certified, 200 NS Mech!?

                        Thanks,

                        Peace Out, Fellow xBhpians!

Guys update on the coolant and engine oil mix issue, got the bike back yesterday, they said that they flushed the radiator twice and the engine oil bay six times to get all the residues of coolant out, took the bike and rode it till home and Bamm all the coolant is again in the engine oil bay. Will be taking it again to the service centre.

They had replaced the head gasket as well as another seal for some pump.

I am thinking of trading it in for the 390 after getting it repaired, how much should I expect for an year old NS 11k kms done.

dude, gasket replacement is not the solution, you need to replace some parts, according to my knowledge. shoot an e-mail to bajaj customer care, talk to service manager of your city.
