guess you can try using any micro fiber cloth... in my experience in the past 2 months they are not leaving any scratches, and i m using it daily to wipe off the dust... its available in any shell petrol pump outlet for a 100 bucks... Incase you want a bigger length cloth, they r available for abt 250-300 .... P.S. mine is also Black NSOriginally posted by Aytas_sss View PostAlso,any suggestions on how to prevent minor scratches from developing on the black model? The black NS is easily susceptible to a dusty coating while it's not so visible on the other colours. I do not want to wipe with just a cloth in fear of leaving scratches. Then again,washing every week is not a viable option for me as I live in a government quarter.You're the guy who'll be sneaking out of your bedroom at three o'clock in the morning to look at your bike.

*brofist* Thanks. No shell petrol pump here in Bhubaneswar. Will search on Ebay.Originally posted by vinodhs87 View Postguess you can try using any micro fiber cloth... in my experience in the past 2 months they are not leaving any scratches, and i m using it daily to wipe off the dust... its available in any shell petrol pump outlet for a 100 bucks... Bro, in BBSR we have only one probiking showroom near Kalinga Stadium, are they servicing Pulsars there??? After a month of its launch of showroom, I had gone there for servicing, they said they have no tools for ns, they have all tools of ns at their bajaj service centre (near Rasulgarh)...Originally posted by Aytas_sss View PostEncountering problems today. As always,I idle for 30 secs during the first start of the day and since the past three days,the bike used to have absolutely no starting problems after that. Today,however,after parking it in the sun for 4 hours and then starting it took 4 attempts. Then again,at a traffic signal,I switched the engine off to avoid overheating,and the bike took 3 attempts to start. Also,after riding 10kms,I gradually rev upto 6k rpm for a few seconds everyday so that the engine sets in properly in all gears. But while doing that today,there were suddenly earthshaking vibes above 5.5k rpm. Not just from the console,but also the handlebars and the tank. I am due to top up the coolant today. I am going to ask the technicians at the probiking showroom about this. AFAIK,such vibrations during the run in period (running on FS Motul 300v), are rare.

EDIT: Went to svc. Guy said coolant level while the engine is warm is supposed to be just below or thereabouts the min level. Then he got some plastic spongy cloth,cut it into two pieces and then put it under the pillion seat. Tail vibrations are damped now. But console vibes still there. Has anyone faced this during the run-in and did the vibes persist after the first service? The guy then started a sales pitch about "emwoi" silicon glaze. I was confused until I came back and googled the same. Turns out it was amway's.

I did give it a few burst of 4-5k.. but not constant for 2-3 mins, will try again when the time is appropriate.Originally posted by gotnofuture View PostRaise engine rpm @ 4-5 continously for 2 to 3 minutes to check radiator fan running.
@Aytas_sss
I've felt vibrations also have to do with the time of the day.. like air, weather ? I get annoying vibes from time to time & just a few hours later they're complete gone... my bike runs smooth. So don't worry for random vibes that you may get here & there. Also keep your NS abit dirty, or you may see people hovering over your bike in public places lulzz ..

Thanks,man.Originally posted by gotnofuture View PostYou can try this type of microfiber cloths checkout the given link Where to Buy- Best price comparison site, Compare Price Online, Price comparison websites, Compare Price in India.
Well,I bought my bike from sampark bajaj where the MD,Sales manager et all promised me that yes,the NS can be serviced at the KTM Probiking svc. That was one of the considerations of my decision in buying the NS,after reading the horrors inflicted on the bikes by unprofessional gits. But today,after encountering the vibes and worrying about the coolant, when I went there,a guy in glasses flat out refused saying that the NS cannot be serviced there. I had personally seen a P220 being serviced yesterday there. Went to sampark to file a complain and ready to holler at them. They seemed confused too and gave me the General manager for bajaj in bhubaneswar's number. As I was running late for my coaching,I went to sampark's own svc. The road to go there is horrible,btw. You won't need to go to obscure places for offroading. I'm calling the GM as soon as I get the money to recharge my account.Originally posted by smrutisourav View PostBro, in BBSR we have only one probiking showroom near Kalinga Stadium, are they servicing Pulsars there??? Well,irrespective of my intentions to sully it's colour, it still gets way too dusty near my house. :P Not to mention construction debris. Also I guess I should've gotten used to vibrations by now,considering that my older ride was the prev gen P200. But I guess I am spoiled by the three days with the NS.Originally posted by broken87 View Post@Aytas_sss

Also,I had gotten the Motul 5100 15w50 oil,but upon enquiring with the service guys,they said that a thicker grade oil would be better for use in the 1st service. Now,my dad wouldn't listen to his wee immature kid and insisted on exchanging the Motul. So,finally got the Castrol Activ 4T 20w50 for 200 bucks less than the motul.
Is it any good or do I have to bluff to my parents after a month or so after the first service that the engine oil needs to be changed in the second service as well?

The guy was bluffing.Unless its a bajaj and ktm service center, you bike wont be serviced there.If its only ktm, they service ktms and ninjas in there.

For duke, oil change is at 1 k,5k,10k and then every 5k.Must be same for pulsar 200ns.Try motul 3100 20w50(350/ltr).Other oils in 20w50 range are motul 7100(approx 750/liter) and bajaj dtsi oil.(approx 300/liter)Motorcycling heals, big time...

Although I am pretty sure now that he was bluffing,I did see a P220 getting its dose of love (or torture,if the svc guys are bad ) there yesterday.Originally posted by ynike99 View PostReplies in bold
And the first service oil change is in question here. And I did search for the 3100. Fruitless searching led to the Castrol. Will see if it affects smoothness and temperatures of the engine and gearbox. If it does,i'm changing it asap.

AFAIK 220F, avenger & P200 ? are usually serviced in these "KTM" service center.. which they call "pro biking svc". At my place NS isn't serviced in the KTM pro biking svc, someone at the svc said it's because the bike doesn't come with a main stand ?.. who knowsOriginally posted by ynike99 View PostReplies in bold

Because of it doesn't come with main stand..? Duke doesn't come with center stand. Same for Ninja also. So why that?Originally posted by broken87 View PostAFAIK 220F, avenger & P200 ? are usually serviced in these "KTM" service center.. which they call "pro biking svc". The engine idling is quite puzzling! When I start my bike it's around 1600 RPM but after 6-7 km of riding it reaches to 2700 RPM! Or sometime almost close to 3000 RPM. So far I have clocked 325km on speedo. is this normal? Finally even my bike has started to die if not revved aggressively! There is a dead spot in acceleration and at that spot bike gives one jerk to die!Originally posted by tushargok View PostFinally everything is going well. I am loving my ride a lot. No issues after that initial nightmare. Looks like bike is gonna surprise me with superb fuel efficiency. I was given 1ltr at the time of bike delivery. Then I put 1 more ltr from near by pump. Drive it back to home. Then filled the 10 ltrs at known good Petrol pump. so far meter reading is 290km and has lost only 1 line from meter indicator!!! BTW riding on this bike is fun to the limit, I keep looking for reasons to ride the bike

where did u search?? its available with sampark bajaj svc. And also u can get cheaper at kalpana square.. U seen that helmet showroom, go there, or to shop beside it. U will get there for sure.Originally posted by Aytas_sss View PostAlthough I am pretty sure now that he was bluffing,I did see a P220 getting its dose of love (or torture,if the svc guys are bad ) there yesterday.

Uh. That helmet showroom's owner is not exactly on the best of terms with me because I had kind of accused him of selling old stock wala LS2 helmets for 4200 bucks to a fellow customer. Infact I whipped out my phone and showed him the lowest price of 2800 bucks for the LS2 Phobia.Originally posted by smrutisourav View Postwhere did u search?? its available with sampark bajaj svc. Also,after yesterday's Probiking fiasco,I am not going to trust sampark bajaj now. I got the Motul and castrol both from the helmet shop near Rupali square. Had to exchange the motul. :/ Anyway,the castrol is going in only till the run in period is over. A totally new pack of 300v I had bought for my old bike is still there.

I think your bike is running on lean AFR and the svc guys have increased the idle rpm to compensate for that.Originally posted by tushargok View PostThe engine idling is quite puzzling!
