Thanks mate... will call them tomo morning... also i went back to my bike and checked coolant and oil levels.. seems ok.... must be petrol or brake fluid... as front brake is not working...

Man!!! if its Brake fluid, then immediately wipe it off from your bike,Mainly painted parts...It highly corrosive in nature

I've been owning an NS since August & the burning kinda smell did pop-up 4-5 days back that too after riding it for more than 15 kms on a sunny day...but I reported this to the SVC & its fixed now...I believe this happened due to some excess lube on the exhaust...

        2. Can you feel heat waves on your legs and thighs after riding 8-10 kms?? And still the fan has not started working??
Only once when the bike was barely 100 kms old & the traffic was so slow that I barely covered a km in 15 mins on a sunny day.

        3. Ever got the warm sensation at the seat, the black side panels and perimeter frame due to riding in traffic? Engine is super hot and fan is running.
        Nope.

        4. Does the engine remains hot (untouchable by hand and can feel heat just by standing near the bike) after like an hour of parking the bike in the evening after a ride of about 15-16km in normal traffic??
The engine does get hot but I don't feel any heat while standing close to the bike...not even after riding the bike over 110 kph for hours...

        5. Does your bike's chain makes "trrrrrrrrrrr" noise (like the one which we typically get from bicycle ball bearings) at the front sprocket ?
Nope...but I get the chain cleaned & lubed every 1500 kms @ the svc ( depends on the amount of dirt on the chain )... costs just 75 bucks !!!

        6. How long should Motul 5100 be used?? its now almost 3300km old now (It was 1 litr 5100 + 200ml 3000mineral oil actually of same grade 15W50)
No idea....I'm still using the DTS-i 10k oil ( 4k kms old) & the bike is still running absolutely smooth...

        Replies in bold.

Also I got the 2nd teflon coating done & the bike is sparkling like a star !! An absolute eye-ball grabber !!
Got the stuck fuel knob issue resolved.
The svc also increased the CO/ CO2 from 1.75% to 2.25%. ( don't know why they did this cuz the bike was running pretty good anyway! )
The gear-shifts are a tad smoother too.

BTW I noticed that a lot of owners are complaining about the indicators, clutch lever , etc being difficult to reach & not being comfortable. Now this is surprising to me because it took me just 5 mins to get habituated with the switches on the NS. Also I don't know whether I have big-footish hands or not but I feel that the clutch lever is well within reach & IMO its very very light too !! I can engage the clutch , passing light , pop in the indicators & honk all at once...its a lot better than those on the 220 (for me at least).
Even after riding my NS for 15+ kms in super tight traffic I feel no stress in my arms & hands at all.

        • MY PULASR 200 NS- ENGINE STOPS SUDDENLY WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION

After a 5 months of usage and clocking around 6000 kms, my motorcycle engine stops suddenly while in motion irrespective of which gear I am on. I have escaped several dangerous situations due to this issue where the motorcycle stops suddenly in heavy traffic.I had first informed this issue during the SECOND service. They returned my motorcycle the same day and the repairs department assured me that the problem was with Idling RPM and it had been fixed. The the problem showed up again.I had informed the same issue and several others during the THIRD service . They increased the RPM and returned my motorcycle the following day and they assured me that the problem had been fixed. The problem is still persistent and the mileage has reduced considerably from 39 km\l to 27 km\l after the tuning. I am extremely disappointed. I am also shocked at the workmanship of an authorized service station assigned by a reputed manufacturer in the country. Anybody has the same issue ?????????????????? Please post ur suggestions to sort it out.

I would appreciate and Request the experienced to throw some light on this idea.

            • Is anyone else experiencing this as well? Whenever I twist the throttle, there seems to be a bit of lag between it and the tachometer needle movement. Sometimes during riding it feels like there is no fuel in the tank, but if I go beyond 5 k rpm for a second or two and then return to sub-4k rpm,it goes away. For a while. And using the Motul 300v from the time of purchase will do no damage, right? Right?

Avinash, what is the idle RPM they have set? Also just from experience, does your horn sounds louder than rest of the 200NS? I had similar symptoms where my horn was much powerful that rest of NS bikes. I felt Bajaj has fixed it. However what turnout was one major electric component had gone bad which halted my bike suddenly at signal. I had to finally call SVC people to pull the bike. It happened on 2nd day so they said it's a manufacturing defect and replaced it free of cost.

i felt same (out of petrol) during runnin period, now all fine...but when enginne cold, or first start of day, i feel lag in throttle response for few mins (i guess reason is the bike is carb not fi)....according to me it doesnt matter nowadays if u use fs oil from start....

Bike was on stand all the day. In the evening I went to the bike to start. Started the bike but with the big noise ( radiator also started to run with the bike! ) I felt something is wrong. I pressed the RED button to stop the bike but the noise continued so I turned off the key but noise continued!! Now I was bit panic! I turn on the key no change, I turn On the RED button, the bike started on its own without pressing the start button!!
Now I was sure in trouble cause I cannot turn off the bike and get away... So I called the guy from Bajaj showroom. ( Luckily Yesterday I notedown his number!!! May be for this event!) I called him and explained him the situation. He said "Sir, Can you drive bike to showroom?" I said "I can". He said "please come I will check it and fix it." So I started driving, Showroom is around 12KM from my house. On my way I noticed horn is not working. After around 6 KM, Low battery indicator started to blink. There was signal right after that, so I stopped at signal. Bike immediately was dead, no electrical were working. So I again called the Bajaj showroom guy. I explained him everything. SO he sent 2 guys, they took my bike and also said "Sorry Sir!" and said tomorrow you will get your bike we will check what has gone wrong and will try to give it by 12 O clock.
Finally everything is going well. I am loving my ride a lot. No issues after that initial nightmare. Looks like bike is gonna surprise me with superb fuel efficiency. I was given 1ltr at the time of bike delivery. Then I put 1 more ltr from near by pump. Drive it back to home. Then filled the 10 ltrs at known good Petrol pump. so far meter reading is 290km and has lost only 1 line from meter indicator!!! BTW riding on this bike is fun to the limit, I keep looking for reasons to ride the bike

Not my intention to crash the party but rhe digital meter for duwl is not at all reliable..shows random reading at random time.

Now also do mention what was the solution tocrhe problemcthat you mentioned..was anything replaced ? If yes then which part. All thse kind of info can help other members wjo may face such problems,we never know who might be next.

Whishing you many more happy miles with your bike.

Check for all the paperseg. insurance, octroi, receipt for payment done to dealer, rto road tax and registration etc etc
check if the engine and chasis no. match on papers and the bike
look for any physical damage on the bike
look at the odo reading..about 10 kms is fine...but do ask why x amount of kms is already done on the bike
check for all electrical working properly
check enough oil level is there
check if enough coolant level is there
ask how much petrol is there so u can plan if u need to refuel or u can make it home
check if tool kit is given
ask any doubts u have regarding the bike to the dealer

that should more or less do it..

search pre delivery inspection on google and u will find tons of site with a complete list on what to do while taking delivery

During my 3rd svc they added Bardahl engine flush (green bottle) and idled the engine for a few min before draining the old oil.. they added bardahl oil supplement with the new oil.. Dont think it cost 250

                            1. Does your NS's engine start smelling (like a heated metal) in 3-4 kms of riding??
Not in 3-4 km.. but after 100km+ in the afternoon, I do get a smell from the radiator area..

                            2. Can you feel heat waves on your legs and thighs after riding 8-10 kms?? And still the fan has not started working??
No.. I usually wear jeans most of the time on the bike, so maybe it shields my leg..

                            3. Ever got the warm sensation at the seat, the black side panels and perimeter frame due to riding in traffic? Engine is super hot and fan is running.
Not at the seat, but have felt the perimeter frame heat up a few times when i was running a rich AFR

                            4. Does the engine remains hot (untouchable by hand and can feel heat just by standing near the bike) after like an hour of parking the bike in the evening after a ride of about 15-16km in normal traffic??
                            Never tried touching the engine

                            5. Does your bike's chain makes "trrrrrrrrrrr" noise (like the one which we typically get from bicycle ball bearings) at the front sprocket??
Not turrr, but do get a bit of sound from the front disc..

I have started feeling that either the engine oil is screwing up or there is some serious problem with cooling system. I had a coolant leakage issue 2-3 months ago, past which i had incidents of vanishing coolant 2-3 times. I don't remember to have so much heated engine prior to that. Or even after sometime later that issue. Something screwd up in between. Can;t figure out what and SVC mechanics are simply apathetic to it. They simply say everything is normal or they can't do anything to reduce engine roughness.
According to the mechanics and svc engineers, "Saab sab normal hai" (Sir everything is normal).. and i`m like

Ask the mechanic to check the CO2 levels - ie AFR setting.. Just fiddling with the idling is the easy way out.. You can find details of AFR experiments in the older pages of this thread

I seriously think that Bajaj used wrong Ergonomics charts. May be they used the ergonomic data meant for European/US population (they have bigger avg size than Indians). There seems a blunder in all positions of levers/buttons. Even the seat height is not meant for avg Indian guy.

And after a series of issues with liquid coolant vanishing/leaking now the level is constant..just a little below max level. In fact this heating issue was not there when I first got the issue with cooling system. I remember, after the leakage issue was fixed, in 2 weeks the liquid coolant totally vanished from the reservoir and i ran bike like that without noticing it for sometime, but still I never felt this kind of heating. After that I gave bike for 2nd service and they screwed something up that time. Since then I am having this heating issue.

EDIT: I have changed back to Motul 3000 15W50, 1.2 ltr of it. So far didn't see any difference in heating situation. While going home in the evening in traffic will give a better review. But one thing for sure bike feels heavy/stiff now as compared to it was with Motul 5100...
UPDATE: With brand new engine oil, there is no significant change in the engine heating issue. Its all the same.

Well, what could be the heated metal like smell coming from the engine?? Is it heated engine or is it heated clutch plates?? Later seems more probable for me. Its definitely not burning oil for sure.

Yes, Bajaj should redo the indicator switch.
I cannot switch on/off the indicator when I have the clutch lever depressed. I have seen a lot of people mention this.
