2nd Fall Of The Month....
Soooooo fed up with the Euro grip tires....
Today morning, the wheels locked while taking a turn. There was some sand spilled on the road. I was at 30-40 kmph.
I was tossed from the bike.
Tarmac teared my palms and elbows......
NOW I understand why ABS is so demanded in bikes nowadays.
It was just 2 weeks before the bike skidded in a similar manner.
If Im to replace the tires, should I replace both or just the rear?
Considering cbr150r tire for the rear....

How about some riding gears ? Tires don't save you all the time. Think about it.Originally posted by Nithyan.S View PostSoooooo fed up with the Euro grip tires....

I found out the problem with your bike and it isnt tyres....it is YOU USING THE REAR BRAKE IN A WRONG MANNEROriginally posted by Nithyan.S View PostSoooooo fed up with the Euro grip tires....

any tyre even the stickiest ones will skid in sand....u need to go slowly and look at the road properly...and use the front brake more and rear brake less... the wheel never locks up due to a BAD tyre..it locks up due to powerfull use of the brake....i am perfectly satisfied with eurogrips for normal day to day use...
but if u shift even to a PSD...and u brake hard on sand..u are bound to lock up ur rear wheel and skid...think about it...
If u plan to use cbr150r tyres...please go for MRF ones...CBR also comes with TVS tyres and they are again nt so goodPulsar 200NS parts list

Hmmm....
I'll consider Riding gears....but are you sure, the cbr tires wont be MUCH of an update over the eurogrip tires?? regarding tire skidding while braking...
Or is it just about showing off ?

Braking DURING taking a corner is a sureshot recipe for losing traction. Complete the downshifting and use a combo of engine braking +front brake to slow down well before the turn.Originally posted by Nithyan.S View PostHmmm....

But when it is absolutely imperative that you brake durning a corner, just tap the rear brake pedal softly and gradually and at the same time straighten the bike up. Never use the front brake during a turn. That is more susceptible to locking up and can be more disastrous than the lock up of the rear. That won't do much good on city roads where there is a good chance that you'll encounter sand/gravel. I'd recommend not taking turns in city roads at speeds higher than 40 kmph.Last edited by Aytas_sss; 03-07-2013, 09:20 PM.

Typing this with bandages all over.......

And thanks...I'll keep your words in mind the next time Im on saddle..

Also, get atleast a pair of gloves. I know, being a student myself, that affording a jacket and boots and all those drool-worthy gear is out of reach for most. But a decent pair of gloves can help your palms from getting skinned raw. and wear jeans everytime you ride. Better abrasion resistance.

However on this Monday whilst commuting to office I felt that in spite of my acclerating the bike was becoming slow. Got down to inspect and realized that the rear wheel had locked up due to the disc brake. Called the mechanic who requested me to let it cool and things were all ok. He also told me that I should use both front & rear brakes while slowing down. I followed his instructions to the tee
Today the commute was better but when I was parking my bike at the office (17 kms) I felt that the rear wheel was again feeling tight. Put the bike on the main stand and tried rotating by hand. To my amazament the wheel was indeed tight and the disc felt hot. I used both brakes today and ensured that my foot was no where touching the rear break.
Please help if some 1 has faced the same experience, also what is the solution to this? Its a brand new bike with not even 100 km on the odo. Is this a defect or something is wrong with my riding style.
Yes i have faced the same problem along with some other guys as well, it happened to me and the rear wheel completely jammed and the disc became really hot, i was stuck in the middle of nowhere, got a local mechanic and he squeezed out the break fluid from the disc brake by opening a screw behind the disc piston, it happens becauss of air bubbles he said, took it to the SVC immediately as the rear break was no longer working, the mechanic opened the rear disc break and found that the piston inside was stuck and wont move because of the air jamming the pipes coming from the break pedal, he did a shit load of things which i cant exactly recollect and things were then fine, there is a little bit of play in the break pedal now(which is a good thing for me atleast) and i haven't had that issue till now, i suggest you get a spanner set and keep the one that fits the screw behind the disc piston just in case your brakes jam in the middle of nowhere, atleast you can squeeze the liquid out and reach your destination.Last edited by absarkhan; 03-07-2013, 11:31 PM.

Your riding habit is the Villain, not Eurogrip
Keep in mind that your back disk brakes having the most bite effect and locking capability than any other one
Its a plus point, right?

They found water deposit in carburetor & petrol tankOriginally posted by spknair View Post
Now my NS is @ SVC - KVR Bajaj, Malappuram
They are looking for the real reason for the missing which happening above 5.5K RPM
The said that, have to change jet and they are out of stock.
After cleaning & changing carb settings they give my bike back.
Sadly my problem become worst
Even a 100cc bike can accelerate 70 to 100KM/hr better than my bike
and I don't know about the petrol mileage, which was at the top end

Not really. I rode my brother's Pulsar 200 DTSi for 2 and a half years before he took it away to his place of posting. As he wasn't able to ride the bike for more than 2 months at a time,so I used the bike almost exclusively. Honed my riding skills on it. Got rid of the various misconceptions people had crammed into my head. Gearbox of the older 200 was much more smoother than the later 220F. Almost as refined as the NS but with a penchant for finding the neutral the hard way.Originally posted by spknair View PostSo, you are coming from a Honda bike, right?
