My bike is 1050 kms old...2 services completed(ok dont laugh on me) with oil changed at 196 kms with dtsi oil and 905kms with motul 3000

I have NEVER seen my bikes radiator fan working

some say the fan is audible...so i havent even heard it

few times i have felt heat on my left leg near the foot and a bit above...

is this the radiator fan at work or simply the engine decided to let out the heat??
Reason to ask this is if i feel that heat i try and stop as soon as possible to see the fan work but i find it not working and if it was earlier working(heat wave on left) i should be atleast able to see it moving and rotating and slowing down to a stop but it always it dead still
You can hear the fan running if the road is a a bit quieter. Im actually in love with the sound of the radiator fan
Anyways, you can visit the SVC and ask the person mech there to show you if the fan is running or not. They will surely do it. I too got it done d first time. the mech will throttle your bike to make it reach a specified temp for the fan to start running. If it doesnt, he will have to fix it. And honestly, at 36 degrees, with continuous ripping also I dont feel any heat from the engine. And the radiator will not make you you feel any heat waves.

Advice: Just complain at the SVC that your engine is heating up and the fan isnt running. They will see to it and try to make your fan come on . Funny...but works!

After a 5 months of usage and clocking around 6000 kms, my motorcycle engine stops suddenly while in motion irrespective of which gear I am on. I have escaped several dangerous situations due to this issue where the motorcycle stops suddenly in heavy traffic.I had first informed this issue during the SECOND service. They returned my motorcycle the same day and the repairs department assured me that the problem was with Idling RPM and it had been fixed. The the problem showed up again.I had informed the same issue and several others during the THIRD service . They increased the RPM and returned my motorcycle the following day and they assured me that the problem had been fixed. The problem is still persistent and the mileage has reduced considerably from 39 km\l to 27 km\l after the tuning. I am extremely disappointed. I am also shocked at the workmanship of an authorized service station assigned by a reputed manufacturer in the country. Anybody has the same issue ?????????????????? Please post ur suggestions to sort it out.

I am shocked to hear it .....

You know, why I replaced my old Unicorn?
      By the same issue
It was due to faulty vacuum piston of carburetor which cant be rectified.
I had changed the piston at least 6-7 times, which will last only for weeks
It may not be the fault of piston, but carburetor itself

Now my NS is @ SVC - KVR Bajaj, Malappuram
They are looking for the real reason for the missing which happening above 5.5K RPM
The said that, have to change jet and they are out of stock.

I had got 47 as best mileage & 35 as worst
I think 60 km/h average speed in 6th gear is giving me best mileage

I agree with you; only if you are a slow rider
I felt seat height is uncomfortable while cornering & 100+ riding

        • Hey guys I have done 4000 on ODO and I had no problems with the bike so far...from past few days a weird problem has started, when I take a sharp right turn, bike accelerates on its own without giving any throttle, the rpm would increase to about 2000 without any throttle.

Note when I had problem with electric component my fan was running for almost 12-14 min and in that time entire battery was drained out. Finally when battery drained out bike stalled and had to toe it service station. My worry is just 14 min of fan running can drain out the entire battery?!

In 2500kms clutch plates changed then only two possibilities:

                  1. You are riding worst than any one with a new bike ?
                  2. Clutch Plate was faulty.(Or there is some problem across)

If second point is what has happened then you should surely check for warranty or some sort of manufacturing defect compensation to you. BTW how old is your bike ?

Is there any one having a P220 or P180 or Avenger > 15k - 25k kms and running on stock clutch plates?

What did your SVC said about such behavior of the clutch plate ?

That was the best mileage figure I have got only once, Usually I get around 38(least) to 41(not bad as well..).
Drive style depends a lot when you talk about mileage, Sudden acceleration or de-acceleration, too much of idling leads to consumes lot of fuel, The right mix of acceleration, proper gear shift, good Engine oil is very important to get a good mileage out of your bike. Tyre pressure and the kind of fuel you use also matters. I always prefer shell petrol(normal).

                    • Went to Thane service center after accident. Sunil, the person who made me job card yesterday said front wheel Disc will have to be replaced. I asked for insurance, he said it will take 10 days for insurance.. So i said forget insurance and get my bike fixed bt evening. Then in afternoon yesterday he says they dont have disc, it will take 1 week.

When I went to collect my bike today, they charged me 112 rupees for labour charges. They should not have touched my bike if they didn't have parts. On arguing, Sunil started shouting, bloody ill educated idiot has no sense to talk with customers... highly dissappointed with their treatment.. we have bought the costliest bike bajaj ever produced..

If anybody knows of online complaint logging facility for shreeram bajaj, pls post the link here....

Advice to people going to Thane shreeram bajaj svc, Ask for Pramod to make job card... Sunil is hopeless creature...

we have bought the costliest bike bajaj ever produced - Not really, it is the costliest bike with bajaj branding.. the duke 200 will be the costliest bike produced by bajaj (just a technicality)

For the bajaj svc centers it doesnt make a difference if you have a NS or discover or boxer (no offence to discover/boxer owners, they treat everyone badly)
All they care is how much money they can take out of your wallet..

You can try lodging a complaint at the bajaj customer care number, but given my past experience it wont help.. best option is to avoid the svc center

If you want the privileged treatment you should have purchased a KTM or Kawasaki.. i hope they are treated better than us

Is duke completely made by Bajaj ???

and i was accompanied by my friend who has ninja. He was also of the same opinion that these guys just want to make money. He has been suggested to replace a good many parts by svc ppl. Initially he obliged, later he ignored their advice and all the parts are working fab till today....

                          • Its been not even 5 days since I got the P200NS. The bike is fantastic to ride and considering that I have started riding after a gap of more than 5 years its been quite easy for me to get accustomed to it.
However on this Monday whilst commuting to office I felt that in spite of my acclerating the bike was becoming slow. Got down to inspect and realized that the rear wheel had locked up due to the disc brake. Called the mechanic who requested me to let it cool and things were all ok. He also told me that I should use both front & rear brakes while slowing down. I followed his instructions to the tee
Today the commute was better but when I was parking my bike at the office (17 kms) I felt that the rear wheel was again feeling tight. Put the bike on the main stand and tried rotating by hand. To my amazament the wheel was indeed tight and the disc felt hot. I used both brakes today and ensured that my foot was no where touching the rear break.

Please help if some 1 has faced the same experience, also what is the solution to this? Its a brand new bike with not even 100 km on the odo. Is this a defect or something is wrong with my riding style.

Disk Brakes are so sensitive, Even your normal feet weight can apply pressure on disk pads continuosly which tends to over heating of disk plate (metal expands on heating). Avoid putting pressure on brake knob. Dosen't matter whether you use front brake, rear brake or both.
