yea exactly, so i figured it was a bahaana nothing else. The SVC managers usually declare where a particular bike will be serviced at. I should sometime go & ask him directly.Originally posted by J K View PostBecause of it doesn't come with main stand..? Duke doesn't come with center stand. Same for Ninja also. So why that?
Yeah i thought so, no issue of center stand as Duke & ninja never come equipped with one. But why do you say 200ns "does come" with a center stand. Unlike P220F it does not... you have to get it fitted as an addon. but ofc as I said it's just an excuse. When I hadn't got it fitted on my bike the mechanic was using a rear wheel spool stand to service my bike at normal svc.. and they've only got 2-3 of them.Originally posted by ynike99 View PostLOL.There's no issue of centerstand. When I asked same question to my SVC manager, he said P200NS is not a flagship
bike and so the difference. I feel sad about this treatment however my SVC manager's theory sounds dubious.
Well recently I realized from front tyre's inner sleeves are torn and bike has totally lost its dynamics. It had cropped a week ago but assumed it to be issue with handlebars. Only recently bike started wobbling and making weird sound that made me believe tyre has puncture. However inspection revealed a bump in tyre at sections a sign of internal damage and immediate tyre change. I felt happy to see the issue is not with handlebar as getting it corrected is painful but next moment I was sad to know my pocket is going to be lighter. Anyway, I will be changing both tyres now. So any suggestions? I am confused about rear rim size as some say it is 70 (myPulsar site) and some say it is 80. Any suggestions though I prefer MRF?Last edited by The Zmaniac; 03-09-2013, 02:06 PM.The Zmaniac - 2 wheeled enthusiast

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

Get 15 w 50.Originally posted by avi_nash94 View Post@all:Planning to change to Motul 7100 but confused between the grade- 15W50 or 20W50 and should I use engine flush. Also which fork oil to use 5W or 20W or some other grade.
And stay away from engine flush. You don't need it now or any time soon.
I'm not aware of the fork oil grade. But why changing fork oil so soon ?
Cheers
Ride safe

For the cheapest yet fairly grippy rubber,I'd recommend the revz-s 130/70. Maximum price is around 3000-ish. And 70 is not the rim-size. It's the height of the tyre denoted by the percentage of the width of the tyre. So, 130/70 would mean the tyre's height would be around 91 mm. So choosing a tyre profile with a height of 90 mm would also suffice.Originally posted by The Zmaniac View PostWhen I asked same question to my SVC manager, he said P200NS is not a flagship

Spoke to the MD of sampark bajaj today. He apologized and told me that the Probiking showroom cannot service pulsars till 12 March because the GM or somefink of KTM India was coming for an inspection. He assured me that after 13th,I can get it serviced at the pbk svc.Originally posted by smrutisourav View Postwhere did u search?? its available with sampark bajaj svc. And also u can get cheaper at kalpana square.. U seen that helmet showroom, go there, or to shop beside it. U will get there for sure.
The NS is not equipped with the center stand by default. It's available as an accessory. But even that should not be a deterrent to service personnel because they would just use a paddock stand for the duke. It's a direct fit on the NS.Originally posted by ynike99 View PostLOL.There's no issue of centerstand. Pulsar 200ns does come with a center stand. For the engine start problem please get the AFR tuning checked, sometimes this happens if the idle rpm not set correctly.Originally posted by Aytas_sss View PostEncountering problems today. As always,I idle for 30 secs during the first start of the day and since the past three days, the bike used to have absolutely no starting problems after that. Today, however, after parking it in the sun for 4 hours and then starting it took 4 attempts. Then again,at a traffic signal,I switched the engine off to avoid overheating, and the bike took 3 attempts to start. Also, after riding 10kms,I gradually rev upto 6k rpm for a few seconds everyday so that the engine sets in properly in all gears. But while doing that today, there were suddenly earthshaking vibes above 5.5k rpm. Not just from the console, but also the handlebars and the tank. I am due to top up the coolant today. I am going to ask the technicians at the probiking showroom about this. AFAIK,such vibrations during the run in period (running on FS Motul 300v), are rare.
Also, any suggestions on how to prevent minor scratches from developing on the black model? The black NS is easily susceptible to a dusty coating while it's not so visible on the other colours. I do not want to wipe with just a cloth in fear of leaving scratches. Then again, washing every week is not a viable option for me as I live in a government quarter.
EDIT: Went to svc. Guy said coolant level while the engine is warm is supposed to be just below or thereabouts the min level. Then he got some plastic spongy cloth, cut it into two pieces and then put it under the pillion seat. Tail vibrations are damped now. But console vibes still there. Has anyone faced this during the run-in and did the vibes persist after the first service? The guy then started a sales pitch about "emwoi" silicon glaze. I was confused until I came back and googled the same. Turns out it was amway's.
I also own a black NS and yes dust and scratches is more visible on the black model. you cannot do anything about it. Use a good micro-fibre cloth and gently wipe it off.
Washing every two or three weeks is more than enough and in between you can a technique that i use. Get two spray bottles (similar to colin) fill one bottle with water and other one with a mixture of water and good car wash shampoo. Please dont use any shampoo. first spray the body with the car wash mix, wipe it off using a clean dry MF cloth and then again spray the water and again wipe with another clean dry MF cloth and there are you have it a clean bike with out any dirt. I do this once or twice a week followed by a wax session. Use a good wax like Collinte 845 and you will have a sparkling looking bike.
Stay away from silicon glaze and teflon coatings that the SVC guys suggest?
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I did enquire about the AFR during the PDI itself. The service guys didn't understand,so I had to tell them about the carb air and fuel mixture using a mix of hand signals and vrooming noises. The idle rpm was normal. 1100-1300 rpm during cold starts and 1400-ish rpm when warmed up. I wanted to check the battery voltage during the PDI but they didn't have the required tools.Originally posted by sunilyo View PostFor the engine start problem please get the AFR tuning checked, sometimes this happens if the idle rpm not set correctly.

And I ordered a 100 ml can of waxpol carnauba wax today. In addition to car wash shampoo that I already have,I think I have all things covered. I bought the black model because I like sober/inconspicuos colours. Well,I have to pay the price for getting an elegant bike, don't I?
AFR is the air-fuel ratio. The mixture of air and fuel that is burnt by the engine in each cycle is regulated by the carburettor. It can be calibrated through a screw near the engine. Less fuel+more air=lean mixture. Results in a higher mileage figure but cold start problems and acceleration drops. More fuel+less air=rich mixture. Lower mileage figure, almost no startup problems. Acceleration is better at the cost of top speed. You can go through this thread from 400-900 pages. Enough has been discussed by the experts to educate rookies like me.Originally posted by tushargok View PostThanks Aytas. What is AFR? Even I haven't had the first service done yet. Will have to personally supervise the personnel and shoo them away from the idle screw and AFR screw.

If i not wrong for AFR tuning you need to set two different screw one right above the the engine on the right side - this sets the air intake and the other is a copper like screw under the perimeter frame on the right side this sets the fuel.Originally posted by ravi_m View PostAFR is air fuel ratio/air filter ratio .....

So a combination of both these is used while tuning the AFR.

Those are individually the Idle rpm screw and the AFR screw. The idle rpm has to be set in consonance with the AFR settings to get the optimum performance.Originally posted by sunilyo View PostIf i not wrong for AFR tuning you need to set two different screw one right above the the engine on the right side - this sets the air intake and the other is a copper like screw under the perimeter frame on the right side this sets the fuel.
