The chain isn't a rocket science...you can get it fixed from a local mechanic too.Originally posted by Manjunath Jadhav View PostAs pointed out by another member, such low RPMs will lug the engine and may actually damage it.
The figures in the manual are too low.
Anyway, I noticed today that my bike's chain makes tsssssk noises. And may be loose. How do I solve this? Should I wait till first service or risk it at the hands of a local mechanic?
Also, my rear break jams or gets stuck stuck whenever my engine overheats(when the radiator fan switches on).
Rear brake getting jammed shouldn't have any relation with the engine heating up...please check if the rear brake gets jammed due to any other reason.
Probably they are fooling around and its just an excuse for not checking. Simply ask them to open the panels up and show you. If the grommets are there, then well and good or else they will have to answer you.Originally posted by twinblades View PostI dropped by the Khivraj Showroom on Kasturba Road to get the chain Lubed. i had some time to kill( wife shopping). i asked them about the Tank grommets and they checked my Chassis number and told me my comes factory fitted.Last edited by myth2104; 01-25-2013, 12:38 AM.

both KTM and Bajaj are associated to the Bajaj Stable. i think bajaj didnt want two bikes with the exact same config so if you want FI on this it would be equivalent to KTMOriginally posted by gotnofuture View PostI think... Pulsar 200ns is demanding a fuel injection system, then only all these engine vibration and low power issues will sort out. But the question is why they haven't provided fi on it? For the sake of 10-15k Rupees? And now they are planning to launch it with fuel injection. Then what the hell we existing customers will do with this silly carb.?

You think Bajaj haven't done any testing before specifying speed limits?? If your engine lugs at those rpms, then get your carb setting checked. When my bike was new even 35kmph @6th gear was smooth (around 3000 rpm). Even now, 40kmph @6th gear is smooth. No lugging. Seems to me that your bikes power delivery at low rpm is hampered.Originally posted by myth2104 View PostIts fine to ride it upto 5k rpm. No harm in it. Even if you take it up to 7k rpm sometimes, then too its fine. The rpms mentioned by BAL make the bike lug.
Though I agree that the specified speed limit is overkill indeed. And its ok to even red line once in a while during run-in.Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

try accelerating from 40 kmph at 6 th gear you will feel the torque lag.Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostYou think Bajaj haven't done any testing before specifying speed limits?? at 35kmph at 6 th gear the engine is bound to stutter .and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.
#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
#overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road
(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

FYI even now my bike does 35kmph @6th gear and has no problem with the carb settings/power delivery. And I never mentioned that MY BIKE lugs. There are some who have complained. And your first and last lines are contradictory to each other.Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostYou think Bajaj haven't done any testing before specifying speed limits?? And lets not talk about what BAL has mentioned in the owners manual...please tell me how many of the owners are still using Bajaj DTSI Oil and that too till 10000km (thats the drain interval claimed by BAL). Dont you think they've done testing before specifying the life of the oil??!! Somethings should be left to practicality bro.Last edited by myth2104; 01-25-2013, 02:33 PM.

The brake has jammed only on two occasions, both after a while of idling(which resulted in radiator fan being switched on and a burning smell -- my friend says this is normal to new bikes -- my bike has run only 200kms). I pushed it to the roadside(a behemoth task...pushing a 200NS with its brake jammed), killed the engine and waited for 5 minutes till the brake got loose again. Does it have something to do with the metal of brake levers expanding due to engine heat?Originally posted by myth2104 View PostThe chain isn't a rocket science...you can get it fixed from a local mechanic too.

Even my bike can pull through smoothly at 35kmph@3000rpm, but I really really think that such continued use of low speeds+low RPM+high gears is going to severely strain and damage the engine. Imagine that you are riding a multi-speed bicycle.... at the highest gear... wouldn't it be hard on your legs to pedal at very low speeds?Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostYou think Bajaj haven't done any testing before specifying speed limits?? Ok first your idling too much making the radiator fan to come on. The burning smell should fade away gradually since its a new bike. It is definitely not related to the engine heating. Get it checked at a SVC if there s a problem with the brake pads or brake line.Originally posted by Manjunath Jadhav View PostThe brake has jammed only on two occasions, both after a while of idling(which resulted in radiator fan being switched on and a burning smell -- my friend says this is normal to new bikes -- my bike has run only 200kms). yes, i am using bajaj oil in my bike , completed around 6700 kms, and only problem which i am facing now is power-lag below 4k rpm, after 4k nothing can beat this beast..Originally posted by ankur2smart View Post@everyone
Wanna change the grip of the handle. my palms have suffered too much
can anyone please give me some suggestions on it
I really liked the frip of CBR 150.
Another thing, has anyone ridden their bike on BAJAJ oil till second service?

Both occasions I idled the bike only for 30 seconds after a long tedious crawl through city traffic(first while parking at my house and the other time while waiting for the light to turn green). The most I idle is for a minute with choke in the morning. The brake doesn't jam while in running, but only in those two occasions when the engine was very hot and idling. Its just two occasions thus not many variables to analyze the problem. Will see if it happens again.Originally posted by myth2104 View PostOk first your idling too much making the radiator fan to come on. After reading through a few thousand posts in this thread, I didn't find anyone mentioning the costs incurred during the free services. Help me with this. I've read on some other forum that a person was charged 1300 during his second free service. Is this true? If yes, I would actually be paying more than what I pay for an RE's free service

. Its enough if you use it for 15secs or so. But in any case you should visit the SVC with your prob.

BTW, my bike too desen't knocjk at < 40 in 6th gear. But at 35 i think there is a slight lug..
Sir, I am quite sure it's NOT DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally posted by sunilyo View Post@ all Delhi NSians
Just got a call from Dewan Bajaj Okhla informing that free camp is being held on Dec 29/30/31. Technicians from Pune (Bajaj) would be coming for general check-up.
Anyways, when suc thing is gonna happen i Kolkata!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was charged 400something in my first service (Only for the Oil change) As for 2nd service, I THINK it wont cost that much also, since there is NO mandatory OIL CHANGE. (I am talking About a normal free service)Originally posted by Kolte666 View PostAfter reading through a few thousand posts in this thread, I didn't find anyone mentioning the costs incurred during the free services.
