Mate. Please read a few pages of this forum. This question has heen answered over a thousand times here. And no it's not a problem to ride in those speeds or rpm band. Ride in the range you are comfortable with.

Have you read the owner's manual?
you shouldn't go below 54 KM/hr in sixth gear; it may lagging engine
So how can you manage ???? under 4K rpm !!!!

I had marked above 7K more than one time, but only for seconds (in running-in time)
In my opinion we should go between 4.5-5.5K rpm to get better fuel economy (by my personal experience)

        Go Ahead With MRF.

No need to change front tyre.

My recommendation 2 install the MRF Zapper Q @ d rear 130/70 best of both worlds, medium compound & best dry & wet grip & bike now is hugely Stable..

When I finally decided this tyre is in huge demand , no where available in Delhi , had 2 go 34 kms @ badarpur in delhi only one piece available rest out of stock.

Revz s available every where , excellent grip , but Puncture or nail magnet.

My suggestion Zapper Q. Rest up 2 u.

        bye

Well recently I realized from front tyre's inner sleeves are torn and bike has totally lost its dynamics. It had cropped a week ago but assumed it to be issue with handlebars. Only recently bike started wobbling and making weird sound that made me believe tyre has puncture. However inspection revealed a bump in tyre at sections a sign of internal damage and immediate tyre change. I felt happy to see the issue is not with handlebar as getting it corrected is painful but next moment I was sad to know my pocket is going to be lighter. Anyway, I will be changing both tyres now. So any suggestions? I am confused about rear rim size as some say it is 70 (myPulsar site) and some say it is 80. Any suggestions though I prefer MRF?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have no other choice but to replace from front tyre because it has damaged beyond repair. Here are 2 pics of my front tyre. It does not really loose air but it creates a weird sound as soon as the highlighted area hits road. Moreover, bike wobbles too.

I have been inquiring around for possible replacements and have zeroed down on MRF 110/80 - 17 52P one same as FZ front. There is another tyre from MRF matching same specs but it appears a little narrow than FZ 1. Or rather FZ is wider than usual (apparently). Both cost same 2100 and I guess I will strike a deal for 2000. There were no options in Michiline & Pirelli cost a little more + there were no dealers nearby and considering condition of from front tyre I could not ride it where dealer is located. Plus Pirelli dealer wont help me fit the tyre.

About rear, I am still not sure and my rear tyre is as good as new (though grip has totally gone). Also, I could not find 130 section tyre any place except Pirelli but with 130/80 - 17 spec as against 130/70 - 17 61P that I found mentioned on rear tyre. I was told Continental (CBR) is a direct fit however I think it would be good to stick to 130 section which can also be found on R15 V2. Pirelli costs 3500 and I guess MRF will cost 3300. I am planning to change it by May end as I feel I will need good grip in Mumbai monsoon.

One point was told to me by one of the dealers however is, Pirellu does not offer warranty. I would be contacting Pirelli distributor and confirm. Meantime, any more information is always welcome.

It often takes a humiliating overtake to understand that an early jump off the red light won't help them lead the pact. All I want to say is - Go after green.

Instead of going for the Fz front tyre, try the100/80 front tyre of Pirelli MT75. Exact same profile as that of the stock. Better grip.

Many people seem to suffer the same annoying sound from the front and cant find what it is. I am still searching for the problem and cant find it. It takes all the fun out of riding.

Some people might have found the problem, if so, please post here on the thread.

                • wowow.. i received 44kmpl from my most recent petrol refill. why am I surprised ? cause I've been getting about 30-35kmpl since past 2-3 months which is average. but 44kmpl is really good. surprising thing is that i had ripped the bike too many times & had been in traffic jams etc.
Also I saw my Radiator fan working today. But the fan only ran for 30-60 secs. then it turned off ? I had ridden the bike 10-15kms & the bike was idling for 2-3 mins, that's when it started running. but why it turned off ?

I think because it would have completed its objective of lowering the temp of the engine to < 91 degrees. Thereafter the natural air flow was sufficient.

Get the coneset checked. Ou might find the issue there. Maybe aa batch wise manufacturing defect

The fan stops working when the coolent temprature drops down the threshhold limit.

                      • I had my first service last week after 500 kms on the ODO. I noticed a few things.
                        - Coolant was leaking on the second day. It hasn't happened again since and the level is above min. Was it excess coolant leaking out?
                        - Pick up has reduced. But, the bike doesn't heat up like before. Is this AFR tuning?
                        - I can hear a tak tak tak noise when I try to accelerate at lower RPM's in higher gears. Is this an issue or do I need to rev more?

1.report to SVC about it..if coolant wasnt over filled it cannot leak...some pipes must be loose
2.probably too rich a mixture...because lean mixture causes over heating...
3.u are lugging the engine...try to rev the engine more while riding..or ride in a lower gear...ride above 3.5k rpm most of the time...below 3k rpm the engine feels its lugging...

How old is your bike/tyre ? Is your tyre still in warranty period ?

Hey buddy, get the tires checked by the TVS guy. These bumps most probably are manufacturing defect, and in that case you will get replacement from TVS.

See if you get the replacement from TVS or not. There is no need really to change front stock tires, they are good enough. For rear tire, you can take a call. MRF Revs is a good option. All soft compound tires like Pirelli would be puncture-magnets. MRF Revz is a better option i guess. When I asked a reputed tire dealer in Pune (Lokamanya Tires), he said Dunlop is better than MRF Revz in terms of grip. I don't know how true is it though.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...
