I have a similar problem.. but after long observation I think it's from the chain.. once the mechanic at the svc tightened the chain but the problem persists.going to my final free service tmrw..I'll post what happens..Originally posted by whattodo??..broooommm!!! View PostYes, I was very lucky indeed. I got it from Dada Motors,BNC chowk, Jalandhar. Also the svc is just in front of the showroom. And the mechanic( Gupta ji) is really awesome there. He listens very carefully and has a lot of patience. He is there since 18 years and his hand is really good with bikes. So everybody respects his decision there.
I bought the bike against cash payment. I had only paid half for the first bike and we had agreed that I will pay the rest after 2-3 days. Luckily the problem came soon while the bike wasn't registered yet. However I paid the remainder the same day after getting the new bike and got it registered the next day with the new bike chassis and engine numbers. Still waiting for the vehicle registration number though.
Any idea on the loud click-click-click-click noise because it's getting louder and happens really fast too. I am visiting the svc tomorrow evening. Just hope it's not that bent disk problem.

i have a similar kind of problem as posted a 2 pages ago on this thread about gap between the head lamp unit and the tank scoops
Turned handlebar full to the left distance between headlamp side masks and tank scoops is quite less around 5-6mm
turned handlebar fully right and distance is dangerously less...i could see only a space of less than 3mm
problem with my bike or everyone else?
solutions?

I'm sorry to disagree . I also own a 'RE 350. The NS is better at acceleration than my beloved bullet.. and also if I intend on accelerating fast I always start in the 2nd gear.. I hardly use the first unless I'm in traffic. That's why I wanted to over gear it in the first place.the bike pulls too easily.. and too many gear changes too quickly.. contradictory to both your points.. and if you could help me out I'd like to experiment sprocketing and find out if the results are a actually bad.. please do help me find a 6 hole rear sprocket.preferably 36T. I was told the old P180 had this config. But I don't know which version.. please help..Originally posted by Aditya N Bharadwaj View PostWhy do you want to overgear your bike? You want a better top end? NS barely manages to hit the rev limiter in 6th with the stock sprockets. Overgear it and I bet you wouldn't like it. In my opinion, you can undergear it, to the rear sprocket of duke (if possible). It would give much more riding pleasure, would become easier to move the bike from standstill AND you can ride the bike at ~33km/h in 6th without lugging, but of course, mileage and top speed would take a hit.
It's the same case with both NS and R15. Both are tuned to deliver the torque in pretty much the same way. Of course, NS can accelerate from 0 to 60/100 km/h at par or better than RE classic 350 if I'm not wrong. But release the clutch in 2nd gear and try to move the bike from standstill, and watch the RE swiftly take off. There's a major difference between acceleration and torque. It all depends on the shape of the cylinder, which in NS's case is an oversquare type, i.e bore>stroke. The acceleration is further contributed to by the triple spark tech and 4 valves.
NS's behavior is as follows.
0-4k rpm: Feels like a pulsar 150.
4-7k rpm: Acceptable torque and acceleration good enough for the city.
7k+: Hooliganistic.
CBR 250R has a better overall torque delivery and acceleration because, well, as the saying goes, "There's no replacement for displacement".

I missed a questionOriginally posted by demonbiker View Posti dont understand?? Like FC??
and stability?? i can vouch for the NS is pretty stable at 152 kmph..
you want to increase torque by adding bigger sprockets @ front
or
you want to increase top speed by making back sprocket smaller ????
your NS is "pretty stable" at 152 KM/hr ??? I love to hear it
136+10% speedo error = 149.6
Wow... I am ready to buy your bike
just joking
& FC (efzee) is FZ 16
Yes, dear. I think he want to increase torque not top speed. my mistakeOriginally posted by christo View PostI guess you're talking about low end torque.
Change the front sprocket to next big size(if available) and see the results.
Btw why does anyone wanna change the sprocket on NS? Afaik NS has good top end and if you over gear it, the low end torque will be even poorer.

In simple language torque means pulling power in a specified RPM
you have to open throttle more & more to obtain power, right?
which was your previous bike?
mine was Unicorn
I have been using NS for last 40 days with 2200 on odo
In this initial stage, engine stalling & frequent gear shifting is common to me
All are because of its low end torque..
Our bike's design is as city bike, but it doesn't have low end torque
Have you ever ridden Honda Shine? you will understand what is the +point of low end torque

you said "I'm sorry to disagree"
on which?
Aditya N Bharadwaj was 100% right
I think you are comparing bike by its cc
350 have very good low end torque & can taken even in third gear, right?
but our NS doesn't

That's a lot of explanation..Thanks.. a bullet taking off in 3rd gear? I have to take your word for it..and being a long stroke engine the bullet has very high torque output over all.. I've been using NS for around 6 months..been on quite a few trips to and fro Chennai and Bangalore.. be it Speedo error but the xuv I was racing with agreed on 150+..not really important.. and not advisable either ..it's stable at its max.. good enough for me..
Anyway.. I want to know if there are any sprockets available..

I remember your old post about it.
& the bullet matter, its common, using 2nd or 3rd gear for taking from stall to move
Anyway ride safe

Finally, Received my bike back. Unfortunately I could not discuss it with the mechanic who fixed it. He was out in the field. However, I was briefed that some major electronic component had some issue and electronic component can go bad any time unlike mechanical part. Between, I realized and remembered distinctly that when I was driving back my bike for the first time, unlike all the testdrive bikes my horn was was way powerful (I was under impression that Bajaj has listed to peoples voice and has put a powerful horn) and the electronic component when went bad it was my horn who first stopped working and radiator fan started running. However this new fixed bike has a original low horn that more or less sounds like auto rickshaw hornOriginally posted by tushargok View PostDay 2 - Issue Major!
Bike was on stand all the day. In the evening I went to the bike to start. Started the bike but with the big noise ( radiator also started to run with the bike! ) I felt something is wrong. I pressed the RED button to stop the bike but the noise continued so I turned off the key but noise continued!! Now I was bit panic! I turn on the key no change, I turn On the RED button, the bike started on its own without pressing the start button!!
Now I was sure in trouble cause I cannot turn off the bike and get away... So I called the guy from Bajaj showroom. ( Luckily Yesterday I notedown his number!!! May be for this event!) I called him and explained him the situation. He said "Sir, Can you drive bike to showroom?" I said "I can". He said "please come I will check it and fix it." So I started driving, Showroom is around 12KM from my house. On my way I noticed horn is not working. After around 6 KM, Low battery indicator started to blink. There was signal right after that, so I stopped at signal. Bike immediately was dead, no electrical were working. So I again called the Bajaj showroom guy. I explained him everything. SO he sent 2 guys, they took my bike and also said "Sorry Sir!" and said tomorrow you will get your bike we will check what has gone wrong and will try to give it by 12 O clock.
which everybody is complaining. So they recharged my battery which completely drained out.
There is 1 important things that this incident exposes:
1. If your battery is dead your bike cannot run! Unlike earlier carburetor bikes which could easily run even when battery is low or not present. (I think since synchronization of spark plug is done via electronic component which requires battery power, so even this one has carburetor we cannot run without battery power)
However the received bike is butter smooth, lot of people have complained of little vibrations and I felt this bike has bare minimum vibrations. Before this bike, I was riding Apache RTR 180 and that bike vibrates too the limit. Compared to that bike this bike is silk smooth. So far I have not passed engine RPM beyond 4000 and would like to keep it under 4k till I do my first serving. I am planning to fit center stand which I is costing Rs. 650 with fitting charges.
I have also received 2 more free servings. so now, the bike has in all 4 free servicings. I also noticed that user manual has been also updated for 4 servicing.

Rear Break Jammed
I was riding along the eastern express highway here in Mumbai, i took a right towards Powai and then after a few minutes my bike started feeling stiff, it wouldnt move, at first i thought i had run out of fuel, shifted the knob to reserve but still there was no movement in the bike, i shifted to neutral and shut the engine and started pushing the bike and it just would not move an inch, i was freaked out, after checking the break lever i realized that the rear break was completely jammed and the rear disc was had heated up like a pressure cooker, luckily i found a local mechanic who squeezed out the liquid form the rear brake and asked me to take it to a SVC it to the SVC and he said the piston in the rear break was jammed because of Air and he resolved the problem, Is this normal??? i mean how frequent is this problem in Disc brake?? Any precautions need to be taken to avoid this from happening?? Imagine this happening right in the middle of riding at 80+
Please advice

Bullet has a low revving high torque type engine..typical of cruiser bikes...while NS has high revving engine..typical of sports bikes. Apples and oranges...Bullet is suppose to have high torque at low rpms. It also achieves its peak torque at lower rpms as compared to NS.Originally posted by demonbiker View PostI'm sorry to disagree . I also own a 'RE 350. Didn't really get your point regarding taking off in 2nd gear to accelerate faster..
I do agree with one thing, good acceleration of NS (no idea about bullet though) and too many gear changes. First gear is too powerful for traffic. I like my Passion better than my NS when it comes to riding in heavy traffic. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference...

I have not gone beyond 70 kmph ever since the fall. Maybe, I am a little scared .Originally posted by spknair View PostDo you have any stability problem @ 90+ km/hr?
I am Santhosh from Malappuram.
Please call me @ 9447531616 after 8 pm, if you got free time
From my previous high speed experiences. Considering the upright seating position (we have to crouch low to minimise drag), Eurogrip tyres and no stream lining, high speed riding can be disturbing. I've felt that the Eurogrips loses its grip while in high speed. Its as if its slipping. Cross winds can make the bike unstable (any bike).Your bike is a part of you....

I agree.. some1 else came up with that comparison to explain low end torque..that's it.. the only problem I have with the NS in traffic is the turning radius.. I'm very happy with it otherwise.. and that 2nd gear is just Rio say that it feels better..that's all..and 1 gear les to shift... Nothing else..Originally posted by nilesh14587 View PostBullet has a low revving high torque type engine..typical of cruiser bikes...while NS has high revving engine..typical of sports bikes. I like my Passion better than my NS when it comes to riding in heavy traffic.I hate to ride my NS in bumper to bumper traffic. Not to mention the clutch. My left hand starts screaming from having to depress and release the clutch lever for long periods. And yes, making tight turns with the NS is difficult. Its a major challenge for me whenever I have to ride to office. I generally, use company transport. Finding a parking space is the first hurdle. If at all I find a space, squeezing my NS into it is the next hurdle. I have to move the bike back and forth and back and forth and back and forth..... many times to place it into the space.Originally posted by demonbiker View PostI agree.. some1 else came up with that comparison to explain low end torque..that's it.. the only problem I have with the NS in traffic is the turning radius.. I love my NS on the highway. Its flies. The rush, the speed. Awesome.....
And for the first time ever since I bought my bike, the cooling fan whirled to life yesterday in a traffic block. Despite all the traffic noise, the whirling sound from the fan was exceptionally loud.
As it were from a car's fan. At first, I heard the sound, but I thought it was coming from the car by my side. But then I felt my legs getting hot. I was thinking what the hell is happening. After a few seconds, I realised 'Oh my God, its the cooling fan'. Since, it had never worked before I was actually having a doubt whether it worked at all.
