I totally agreeOriginally posted by bondarun View PostYou have to do it... This helps engine part lubricate enough before u put stress on it...
even i do the same as he mentioned, it works...
You can either use choke or let it idle for 30~40sec....
If the person has to go 600 or 1km, i would rather walk than being lazy....
For people that have more frequent cold starts should try castrol magnetic
The company says the oil sticks to the piston even after you turn the bike off allowing It to stay lubricated from the start the next time you start it
Dont know how true it is and you never know when you get a fake castrol
I normally idle my bike for atleast a minute every day wether its morning or afternoon or night
In extreme cold conditions in da morning, I idle it for up to 2-3minutes until I feel its warm enough and oil is circulating and my cold clearance has reduced
Oil will start circulating immediately after you start your engine within a second but piston to liner clearance must be as low as possible in order to avoid excess blow by from forcing its way through damaging it all the more

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi folks...
Recently had a little trip to shimla with my friends, chose the destination because i wanted to ride in the hills...
And boy the ride is forever going to stay in my top ten memories!! For it was my first ride in the mountains on my beloved NS...
Its was a fun riot !!! simply off the scale!!!
A perfect gray stip laid around the mountains, breathtaking views, sporadic traffic, i just couldnt ask for more!!
Taking more about the ride, well ns performed beautifully, taking on the twisties was a breeze, with enuf power on tap to overtake pretty much anything,
the only thing one has to be carefull about during cornering is that when ur on a decend, gravity will be working against you, u have to brake early so that u dont lock up ur wheels, specially the rear euro slipper and enter the corner at the right speed ...
I have been to shimla many a times but this it was different, this time i went there on my ns, and it was a whole lot better this time !!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Nope, you wont. It actually does go the full 10,000 kms... I did it after my 2nd service [from 8000 kms on the odo]. i didnt even require a top up for the 3rd service [ oil was still visible in the view port]Originally posted by denverrodricks View Post

I rode it around, including 150- 160 km rides.. Other than make me very sure about the lack of anything useful with that stupid oil, i had no problems [ luckily :P]
I was pretty unsure about what oil to shift to, then..[ wasnt in the forum and had no idea about motul] Used the thing till 18500kms on the odo!! couldn't see the status of the oil after, but didnt seem to have caused any type of problem...
After which, i directly shifted to motul 7100 and it has been staple for my bike since! If you check my old post about the work done on the engine, you'll see that after 2-3 changes with motul, the engine is super clean inside! There are no issues, engine is very smooth after the work and runs beautifully!!

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I know its magnatec not magnetic but what do they mean by that?Originally posted by punarvasu View PostIt is Castrol MAGNATEC, not magnetic and is for cars. Castrol does not recommend it for bikes.

They mean that it has some sort of magnetic technology infused in the oil that makes it stick to the piston for a long time even after the engine is off
Which is quite possible actually
